    Behaviour of the potentials due to strangeness degree of freedom in ΛΛ6_{\Lambda\Lambda}^6He hypernucleus

    Fully correlated study of ΛΛ6_{\Lambda\Lambda} ^6He hypernucleus has been performed with two- and three- baryon potentials. For the S=-2 sector, various simulations of Nijmegen ΛΛ\Lambda\Lambda potential models have been used. We investigate the role of every strength of the strange sector potentials on the energy breakdown and present a crystal clear understanding of their interplay. Consistency between Λ5_\Lambda ^5He and ΛΛ6_{\Lambda\Lambda}^6He depends on the ΛN\Lambda N space-exchange strength only. Investigation limits the strength of simulated Nijmegen ΛΛ\Lambda\Lambda potential models. The study is a step forward to determine all the strengths, to reslove A=5 anomaly and to search for ΛΛ4_{\Lambda\Lambda}^4H in an authentic way.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figur

    A new species, Aiolopus obariensis sp. n., is described and illustrated from Fezzan Province, Libya. Besides other differentiating characters, the new species is characterized by having a conspicuously short and club-shaped left antenna. A description and a key to Libyan species of Aiolopus Fieber is provided. Some additional characters of male and female genitalia have also been incorporated

    The (2+1)-dimensional gravastars

    We propose a new model of a gravastar in (2+1) anti-de Sitter space-time. This new three dimensional configuration has three different regions with different equations of state: [I] Interior: 0 \leq r < r_1, \rho = -p ; [II] Shell: r_1 \leq r < r_2, \rho = p; [III] Exterior: r_2 < r, \rho = p =0. The outer region of this gravastar corresponds to the exterior (2+1) anti-de Sitter space-time, popularly known as the BTZ space-time. Like BTZ model, \Lambda is taken to be negative, which at the junction turns out to be positive as required by stability of gravastar and mathematical consistency. After investigating the Interior space-time, Shell and Exterior space-time we have highlighted different physical features in terms of Length and Energy, Entropy, and Junction conditions of the spherical distribution. It is shown that the present model of charge-free gravastar in connection to the exterior (2+1) anti-de Sitter space-time or the BTZ space-time is stable and non-singular.Comment: 9 Latex pages with minor addition, Accepeted in PL

    Correlates of University Adjustment Among Malaysian Students

    The present study is intended for a better understanding of university adjustment of Malaysian adolescents. More specifically, the purpose of this research was to examine the factors contributing to the adjustment of these adolescents in the university. The target population was Bachelor students (Teaching English as a Second Language) at Universiti Putra Malaysia in the age range of 18 and 23 years. Since the population was only 178, the whole population was studied. Eleven respondents filled the questionnaires for the pilot study and a total of 150 subjects filled the questionnaires for the main study, but only 130 questionnaire sets were valid. The study is correlation in nature. Based on previous research studies and theories, nine independent variables were chosen to investigate their relationship with university adjustment. The Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire was used to measure university adjustment of Malaysian adolescents. The Self-Esteem Inventory and Coping Skills Inventory were used to study self-esteem and coping skills respectively. The Students Perception of University Student Services Inventory, developed by the researcher, was used to measure university factors. The study was limited to late adolescents and most of the respondents were female Malay Muslims. The analysis of the data showed, that most of the respondents had an average level on all the four components of university adjustment. A significant relationship was found between 35 of the 36 relationships studied. There was no significant relationship found between personal-emotional adjustment and academic advising. Coping skills and financial issues predicted all four components of university adjustment

    Oscillatory Universe, dark energy and general relativity

    The concept of oscillatory Universe appears to be realistic and buried in the dynamic dark energy equation of state. We explore its evolutionary history under the frame work of general relativity. We observe that oscillations do not go unnoticed with such an equation of state and that their effects persist later on in cosmic evolution. The `classical' general relativity seems to retain the past history of oscillatory Universe in the form of increasing scale factor as the classical thermodynamics retains this history in the form of increasing cosmological entropy.Comment: 6 pages, 1 figure, a few minor corrections, Accepted in Astrophysics and Space Scienc
