    INDUSTRIAL ARCHITECTURE OF ODESSA FROM THE CONTEXT OF RENOVATION OF INDUSTRIAL OBJECTS

    This paper discusses the importance of studying and rethinking the history of the development of domestic industrial architecture. The chronology of the development of industrial architecture in Odessa against the background of the industrial history of Russia and Ukraine is considered. The main stages and time frames typical for Odessa are identified as pre-industrial (1791–1861), the stage of formation (1861–1917/20), industrial (1918/20–1985), and post-industrial (1986–present day). The paper presents a brief description of each stage along with the analysis of the current state of industrial architecture. In addition, the experience of the renovation of industrial facilities in Odessa is considered, and the main spectrum of new functions is revealed. Two types of renovation objects are identified: historically significant and typical. The renovation is considered as a method of stabilizing urban space

    Assessment of the factors of influence on the formation of multifunctional complexes under conditions of renovation of industrial facilities

    This article examines the processes of formation of multifunctional complexes (MFCs) based on the renovation of industrial facilities and identifies and describes the following external factors influencing their formation: socio-economic, environmental, urban planning, architectural, aesthetic, and historical and cultural. It also highlights and describes internal factors: typological, functional and technological, engineering and constructive, space-planning, and architectural and artistic. Socio-economic factors are analysed by identifying factors that inhibit the development of new functions based on the renovation of stopped industrial facilities and contribute to these processes; the main objectives of the renovation of industrial facilities for MFCs are outlined.     This paper discusses the problem of closed-down industrial plants in urban structures, and the prerequisites for the emergence of new uses in them, with a specific focus on libraries. The issues of the interconnection between the architectural and planning solution of the building undergoing adaptive reuse and the library function were explored; the importance of the intangible component of the renovated industrial facility in the context of the formation of the prestige of the public library and the preservation of the historical component of the urban structure was discussed. The study identified the types of industrial buildings suitable for adaptive reuse as libraries, and explored the issues of energy efficiency and environmental safety of the formation of libraries based on renovation. The authors investigated a range of problems that arise during the adaptive reuse of industrial buildings that have various degrees of architectural, artistic and historical significance. Major renovation directions were also described form the position of ecological safety.W pracy omówiono kwestię zamkniętych zakładów przemysłowych w strukturze miejskiej, przesłanki dla powstania w nich nowych funkcji, zwłaszcza bibliotek. Rozpoznano związki pomiędzy układem przestrzennym adaptowanego budynku i funkcją biblioteki, podkreślono znaczenie komponentu niematerialnego adaptowanego budynku w kontekście kształtowania prestiżu biblioteki i zachowania struktury urbanistycznej. Prześledzono rodzaje budynków przemysłowych adaptowanych na cele bibliotek publicznych oraz przedstawiono kwestie efektywności energetycznej i bezpieczeństwa ekologicznego tworzenia bibliotek w ramach adaptacji budynków istniejących. Rozpatrzono niektóre kwestie wynikające z adaptacji do nowej funkcji budynków przemysłowych o różnym stopniu znaczenia architektonicznego, artystycznego i historycznego.
