    Assessment of economic feasibility for gridconnected renewable energy system for a household application in Terengganu

    This article extends the conference paper ‘Simulation-based method to evaluate PV/wind hybrid renewable energy system in Terengganu’. Instead of off-grid system considered in the conference version, inspired by feed-in-tariff introduced by The Government of Malaysia, this article includes grid-connected hybrid renewable energy system to examine their feasibility to be used as power supply for a household in Terengganu. In addition, this article compares the performance of grid-only system and hybrid grid-renewable energy systems in terms of cost of electricity and emission of pollutant. The payback period is also examined based on the current sellback rate. Sensitivity analysis is done to find the best sellback rate for a hybrid grid/PV/wind system to compete with a hybrid grid/PV system. In addition, the most optimal configuration is also determined by varying the value of solar radiation, wind speed and sellback rate. Generally, it is concluded that the hybrid grid/PV system is the most practicable choice to be used as power generator to supply electricity for a household in Terengganu

    Microscopic DC-TDHF study of heavy-ion potentials and fusion cross sections

    We study heavy-ion fusion reactions at energies near the Coulomb barrier, in particular with neutron-rich radioactive ion beams. Dynamic microscopic calculations are carried out on a three-dimensional lattice using the Density-Constrained Time-Dependent Hartree-Fock (DC-TDHF) method. New results are presented for the 132^{132}Sn+40^{40}Ca system which are compared to 132^{132}Sn+48^{48}Ca studied earlier. Our theoretical fusion cross-sections agree surprisingly well with recent data measured at HRIBF. We also study the near- and sub-barrier fusion of 24,16^{24,16}O on 12^{12}C which is important to determine the composition and heating of the crust of accreting neutron stars.Comment: Talk given by .     We investigate the fusion barriers for reactions involving Ca isotopes 40Ca+40Ca\mathrm{^{40}Ca}+\mathrm{^{40}Ca}, 40Ca+48Ca\mathrm{^{40}Ca}+\mathrm{^{48}Ca}, and 48Ca+48Ca\mathrm{^{48}Ca}+\mathrm{^{48}Ca} using the microscopic time-dependent Hartree-Fock theory coupled with a density constraint. In this formalism the fusion barriers are directly obtained from TDHF dynamics. We also study the excitation of the pre-equilibrium GDR for the 40Ca+48Ca\mathrm{^{40}Ca}+\mathrm{^{48}Ca} system and the associated γ\gamma-ray emission spectrum. Fusion cross-sections are calculated using the incoming-wave boundary condition approach. We examine the dependence of fusion barriers on collision energy as well as on the different parametrizations of the Skyrme interaction.Comment: 11 pages, 13 figure

    Watershed Conditions (DAS) Limboto has faced seriously problems of highly rates of erosion, sedimentation, spread of critical land, shift functions of forests and rarity quality water of river as a resutt of floods that always happen, water scarcity and the silting up of Lake Limboto. Therefore, the research has conducted as an integral part ofan effort to develop a model ofintegrated watershed management through mechanisms of payments for environment services (PES) and identify institutional forms. Through Valuation Method and Dynamic System ver.2.5 with 84 people of sample is found that preserving watershed area of Limboto will manage by integrated watershed management through the mechanisms of Payments for Environmental Services (PES) has potential to do in light of community participation and willingness to maintain the forest while maintaining the sustainability of the future of Environment and to proven society of social-and economic matters as has showed by analysis ofdynamic systems
