Leptogenesis with exclusively low-energy CP Violation in the Context of Minimal Lepton Flavour Violation
We analyze lepton flavour violation (LFV) and the generation of the observed
baryon-antibaryon asymmetry of the Universe (BAU) within a generalized minimal
lepton flavour violation framework with three quasi-degenerate heavy Majorana
neutrinos. The BAU which is obtained through radiative resonant leptogenesis
can successfully be generated widely independent of the Majorana scale in this
scenario and flavour effects are found to be relevant. Then we discuss the
specific case in which CP violation is exclusively present at low-energies (a
real R matrix) in the flavour sensitive temperature regime. Successful
leptogenesis in this case leads to strong constraints on low-energy neutrino

Impacts of reindeer grazing on soil properties on Finnmarksvidda, northern Norway
Numerous investigations have documented changes in vegetation due to reindeer grazing in Finnmark County, Northern Norway. However, rather few studies have focused on impacts of reindeer grazing on soil properties. The aim of this investigation was to identify possible changes in physical and chemical soil properties due to reindeer grazing. Furthermore, root distribution was detected. At four different locations on Finnmarksvidda three sample sites each were selected subjectively according to lichen and plant cover: A) ample, B) reduced, and C) poor lichen and plant cover. It was supposed that differences in lichen and plant cover were due to differences in reindeer grazing intensity. Results showed that the organic layer beneath ample lichen cover had an about 20% higher CEC and a 30—50% higher concentration of plant available Ca and Mg and total Mg compared to those beneath reduced ones. At sites with poor lichen and plant cover, an organic layer was mostly missing. The exposed mineral Eh-horizons at these sites had a significant (P<0.05) higher organic C content, higher CEC, concentrations of total P, Ca and K, and plant available K, when compared to E-horizons beneath better lichen covers. Rooting depth and amounts of plant available water in the rooting zone were lower at sites with reduced and poor lichen cover. A relation was found between soil organic C and CEC for all soil samples, indicating that soil organic matter is an essential key factor for soil fertility at the investigate sites on Finnmarksvidda. Assuming that differences in lichen and plant cover are related to differences in grazing intensity, results indicate that overgrazing by reindeers can cause a significant degradation of the organic layer, followed by significant losses of essential plant nutrients, a reduction in plant available water and consequently soil fertility
Minimal Lepton Flavour Violation and Leptogenesis with exclusively low-energy CP Violation
We study the implications of a successful leptogenesis within the framework
of Minimal Lepton Flavour Violation combined with radiative resonant
leptogenesis and the PMNS matrix being the only source of CP violation, which
can be obtained provided flavour effects are taken into account. We find that
the right amount of the baryon asymmetry of the universe can be generated under
the conditions of a normal hierarchy of the light neutrino masses, a
non-vanishing Majorana phase, sin(theta_{13})>0.13 and m_{nu,lightest}<0.04 eV.
If this is fulfilled, we find strong correlations among ratios of charged LFV

ECG-gated multi-slice computed tomography in the detection of atrial septal aneurysms
An atrial septal aneurysm (ASA) is an uncommon cardiac abnormality. Clinical
manifestation of this abnormality remains unclear: some authors have suggested
an association between ASA and arrhythmias or between ASA and cerebral
ischaemia. A major role in the diagnosis of ASA to date has been played
by transoesophageal echocardiography and transthoracic echocardiography.
The purpose of this paper is to present the role of multi-slice computed tomography
with ECG gating in the detection and analysis of ASA. (Folia Morphol

Attitudes Concerning Postmortem Organ Donation : A Multicenter Survey in Various German Cohorts
BACKGROUND
The aim of this study was to characterize postmortem organ donation attitudes in various German cohorts.
MATERIAL AND METHODS
Employees of 2 German cities and 2 German university hospitals, employees of a German automobile enterprise, and members of a German Medical Society were administered a questionnaire about postmortem organ and tissue donation attitudes. Demographic data and general attitudes were questioned and focused on: I) willingness to donate organs, II) holding a donor card, and III) having discussed the topic with the family.
RESULTS
Of 5291 participants, 65.2% reported favoring postmortem organ donation. Missing negative experiences, the idea that donation is helpful, a non-medical professional environment, excellent general health, gender, agreement with the brain-death paradigm, and age significantly influenced the participants’ attitudes. Participants were more likely to possess donor cards and had discussed more often with family members if they agreed with the brain-death paradigm and considered donation to be helpful. Males and older participants were the most likely to neglect donor cards, and Catholics, Protestants, and participants with poor health were the least likely to donate organs. Interest in receiving more information was expressed by 38.1% and 50.6% of participants refusing donation of all or of specific organs, respectively, and suggested the internet (60.0%) and family doctors (35.0%) as preferred sources of information.
CONCLUSIONS
Public campaigns in Germany should focus on males and older people as regards donor cards, and females, younger, and religiously affiliated persons as regards the general willingness to donate organs postmortem

Quadricuspid pulmonary valve complicated with aneurysm of pulmonary trunk diagnosed with ECG-gated computed tomography
Quadricuspid pulmonary valve (QPV) is an uncommon congenital defect reported
in the general population with a frequency of up to 0.25%. The defect
usually does not cause severe clinical complications and its presence frequently
remains clinically silent. Moreover, there are several difficulties in visualization
of pulmonary valve using basic diagnostic modalities such as echocardiography.
Therefore, in the majority of cases, QPV is detected accidentally during cardiac
procedures or post mortem.
The authors present a case of QPV complicated with aneurysm of the pulmonary
trunk, diagnosed with computed tomography in 70-year-old woman.
Although the patient had undergone transthoracic echocardiography examinations
several times in the past, only computed tomography allowed the detection
of the anomalous valve. In addition, the examination confirmed aneurysm
of the pulmonary trunk.
To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case of QPV diagnosed in vivo
with computed tomography
The Jefferson Lab Frozen Spin Target
A frozen spin polarized target, constructed at Jefferson Lab for use inside a
large acceptance spectrometer, is described. The target has been utilized for
photoproduction measurements with polarized tagged photons of both longitudinal
and circular polarization. Protons in TEMPO-doped butanol were dynamically
polarized to approximately 90% outside the spectrometer at 5 T and 200--300 mK.
Photoproduction data were acquired with the target inside the spectrometer at a
frozen-spin temperature of approximately 30 mK with the polarization maintained
by a thin, superconducting coil installed inside the target cryostat. A 0.56 T
solenoid was used for longitudinal target polarization and a 0.50 T dipole for
transverse polarization. Spin-lattice relaxation times as high as 4000 hours
were observed. We also report polarization results for deuterated propanediol

Kaon and Antikaon Production in Heavy Ion Collisions at 1.5 AGeV
At the Kaon Spectrometer KaoS at SIS, GSI the production of kaons and
antikaons in heavy ion reactions at a beam energy of 1.5 AGeV has been measured
for the collision systems Ni+Ni and Au+Au. The K-/K+ ratio is found to be
constant for both systems and as a function of impact parameter but the slopes
of K+ and K- spectra differ for all impact parameters. Furthermore the
respective polar angle distributions will be presented as a function of
