Mathematical modeling of ultra wideband in vivo radio channel

    Get PDF
This paper proposes a novel mathematical model for an in vivo radio channel at ultra-wideband frequencies (3.1–10.6 GHz), which can be used as a reference model for in vivo channel response without performing intensive experiments or simulations. The statistics of error prediction between experimental and proposed model is RMSE = 5.29, which show the high accuracy of the proposed model. Also, the proposed model was applied to the blind data, and the statistics of error prediction is RMSE = 7.76, which also shows a reasonable accuracy of the model. This model will save the time and cost on simulations and experiments, and will help in designing an accurate link budget calculation for a future enhanced system for ultra-wideband body-centric wireless systems

Fournier's Gangrene after Open Hemorrhoidectomy without a Predisposing Factor: Report of a Case and Review of the Literature

Fournier's gangrene (FG) is a fatal synergistic infectious disease with necrotizing fasciitis of the perineum and abdominal wall along with the scrotum and penis in men and vulva in women. An unpredictable case of FG two weeks after open hemorrhoidectomy in a previously healthy 55-year-old male is described. Full-thickness patchy skin necrosis of the perianal, perineal and scrotal region associated with rectal perforation was detected on admission. Prompt radical debridement together with aggressive fluid resuscitation and broad-spectrum antibiotic administration was initiated. Because of rectal involvement, diverting sigmoid colostomy was fashioned. The patient survived after two additional local debridements. Nevertheless, loss of sphincter function due to massive muscle destruction led to permanent colostomy. Our case together with others reported in the literature illustrates that, although rare, FG after open hemorrhoidectomy represents a life-threatening complication to otherwise healthy patients. The development of fever and urinary retention should draw the attention of the surgeon, even if the presentation is delayed. The current literature only briefly mentions the potential risk of FG after such a common surgical procedure. However, devastating complications occur more often than anticipated. This disastrous complication without predisposing factor is discussed along with a literature review

n^{th} root of a Lie algebra and its dual (that is fractional supergroup) based on the permutation group SnS_n invariant forms are formulated in the Hopf algebra formalism. Detailed discussion of S3S_3-graided sl(2)sl(2) algebras is done.Comment: 13 pages, detailed discussion of S3S_3-graided sl(2)sl(2) is adde

WOS: 000247004300007In this study, acetophenone is used as a basis substance. omega-Isonitrosoacetophenone has been synthesized from nitrosyl with amyl nitrite of acetophenone in the presence of sodium ethoxide. Subsequently, anti-phenylglyoxime has been prepared by reacting omega-isonitrosoacetophenone with hydroxylamine and sodium acetate in a ethanolic media. Chlorophenylglyoxime has been obtained from reaction with chlorine gases. Then, three aminophenylglyoxime (ligands) have been prepared by the reaction of chlorophenylglyoxime and the corresponding amines. The Ni(II), Co(II), and Cu(II) complexes with BF2+-bridge of anilinophenylglyoxime and 2,4-dimethylanilinophenylglyoxime were prepared. Then polymeric metal complexes with BF2+-bridge of dopamiophenylglyoxime were prepared. Their structures were identified by FT-IR, H-1 NMR, and ICP-AES spectral data, elemental analysis and magnetic measurements

WOS: 000343887100014In this research, removal Pb(II) and Ni(II) ions from aqueous solutions by modified mullein (Verbascum cheiranthifolium BOISS. var. cheiranthifolium) plant material was investigated. Effects of modification method on the adsorption capacity improvement for removal of these heavy metals ions have been investigated. Structures of modified mullein plant materials before and after modifications process were examined by the FTIR and SEM analyses. Modification processes were performed using HCl acid solutions. The investigations of kinetic, isotherm and thermodynamic parameters were also studied for HCl modified mullein plant material. The regeneration processes were studied for the determination of modified mullein plant material's reusability after the adsorption processes. Additional costs for applied modification processes were calculated and compared with the other classical methods. The chemical oxygen demand residues in treated water by modified mullein plant material comparing raw materials were decreased from 910-1430 mg/L to 10-90 mg/L with the modification processes. The removal efficiencies changed with heavy metal concentration in water sample and increased about 70% for modified mullein plant material. Heavy metal adsorption capacities were found maximum about 90 mg/g according to type of adsorbent and modification process. As a result, it was revealed that adsorption capacities and costs efficiency of adsorbent were compatible with conventional adsorbents

We propose a new simple decomposable code construction technique that generates codes with the full information rate for all of the minimum Hamming distance-4 binary linear block codes of even length greater than or equal to eight. Additionally, some optimal Hamming distance-8 and higher distance codes are obtained with our proposed scheme. A generic trellis structure for the proposed codes was also designed. It is shown that our trellis structures provide lower decoding complexity in comparison to the trellises of some other well-known block codes
