    HEPATOPROTECTIVE ACTIVITY OF AQUEOUS EXTRACTS OF CHRYSANTHEMUM INDICUM FLOWERS ON PARACETAMOL INDUCED LIVER INJURY IN ALBINO RATS

    Objective: The present investigation was evaluated that protective activity of aqueous extract of flowers of Chrysanthemum indicum studied againstparacetamol-induced hepatotoxicity in animal model.Methods: Bioactive functional groups, such as alcohol, carboxylic acid, and amines, were present in the aqueous extract of flowers of C. indicumidentified by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The animals were grouped into 5 and each group has 6 animals and induced the hepatic failure.Silymarin was used as reference standard. Aqueous extract of flowers of C. indicum treated in a different dose which was compared with control groupof animals.Results: Aqueous extract of flowers of C. indicum reduced the level of aspartate transaminase (AST), alanine transaminase (ALT), serum bilirubin,protein, triglycerides, and cholesterol compared than paracetamol treated Group II animals. Histopathological studies were confirmed that reductionof necrosis and inflammation in the liver cells.Conclusion: Thus, these results revealed that the aqueous extract of flowers of C. indicum shown very significant (p<0.01) hepatoprotection againstparacetamol-induced hepatic failure in animal model by reducing AST, ALT, serum total bilirubin, protein, triglycerides, and cholesterol levels.Keywords: Hepatoprotective activity, Chrysanthemum indicum, Paracetamol

    Analysis and Classification of Breast Cancer Disease Via Different Datasets and Classifier Models

    Nowadays, Tumour is one of the important reasons of human death worldwide, producing about 9.6 million people in 2018. BC (breast cancer) is the common reason for cancer deaths in females. BC is a type of cancer that can be treated when detected early. The main motive of this analysis is to detect cancer early in life using ML (machine learning) techniques. The features of the people included in the WDBC (Wisconsin diagnostic breast cancer) and Coimbra BC datasets were classified by SVOF-KNN, KNN, and Naïve Bayes techniques. The pre-processing data phase was applied to the datasets before classification. After the data pre-processing steps, three classification methods were applied to the data. Specificity and Sensitivity rates were used to calculate the success of the techniques. As an outcome of the BC diagnosis classification, the SVOF-KNN technique was found with a 91 percent specificity rate and 90 percent sensitivity rate. When the outcomes attained from feature extraction and selection are calculated. It is seen that feature extraction, selection, and data pre-processing techniques improve the specificity and sensitivity rate of the detection system

Breast cancer patients are at high risk of developing malnutrition from the underlying disease as well as from various drug regimen, chemotherapy and or radiotherapy interventions. As we work for personalized medicine for breast cancer, a personalized nutrition for breast cancer patients is much needed for their wellbeing both physiologically and psychologically. Most rather than all, of the treatment regimens possesses a concourse of side effects. An effective personalized nutritional therapy during and after cancer treatment leads to better quality of life for the breast cancer patients. Clinical trials are pivotal for any recommendations to be used at the commercial level upon approval of Food & Drug Administration. Several clinical trials have been carried out and many are now undertaken to come up with a significant upshot conclusion based on primary and secondary outcomes to show the after effects of particular nutrient supplements by increasing the overall survival or any other physiological upregulated / downregulated manifestation leading for a disease free survival. Docosahexaenoic acid and glutamine nutritional supplement has been reported to have beneficial effect for breast cancer patients in different clinical trials

    Designing and validation of Yoga module for workers with prolonged standing

    Background: Prolonged standing is a part of several professions, which can have physical and psychosocial implications. Yoga as a mind-body therapy may be useful to prevent and manage such health issues. However, there is a lack of a standardized yoga module addressing the health issues of workers with prolonged standing. Objectives: Thus, the present study was undertaken to design and validate a specific yoga module for the target population. Methods: A yoga module was prepared by reviewing yoga texts for the specific needs of the target population. This was validated for content validity for the experts on a Likert scale.71 yoga experts validated the module. The content validity ratio (CVR) above 0.70 was considered to be valid. Results: The validated yoga module consists of joint loosening and strengthening exercises, asana, pranayama and relaxation techniques. The average CVR for the module was found to be 0.80. Conclusion: The designed yoga module is found to be valid by the experts. The module needs to be assessed for feasibility and efficacy in the target population

    Pattern and Utilization of Maternal Health Services in Jigawa State, Nigeria

    One of the important goals of launching the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) is maternal health. Nigeria was not able to achieved the target of reduction the maternal mortality as set by MDGs as a target. Nigeria has 37 state and Jigawa state is one of those state. The state has poor indices of health indicator, the maternal mortality is high and also antenatal visit in the state is not encouraging. The objective of the study was to find out the degree (extent) of the usage of the services of the maternal health care and to examine the role of socio-demographic variables and antenatal visit on the uses of the services of maternal health system available in the state. Logistic regression (Binary), chi- square, and bivariate analysis were used and the study used the data collected from the state ministry of health. The study utilized the data for two year (2017-2018) . The finding of this study revealed that socio-economic factors greatly influence the uses of maternal health care services. Level of education (Women's education) influences the maternal health care utilization. The study found that, the hospital based delivery, antenatal care visit utilization and seeking service after delivery varies among the women with the different level of education, age at marriage, women's age and residence of women. The study revealed that, the women's with the high level of education (literate) is 2 times compared to illiterate women likely to use antenatal services (OR=1.97, ANC1.95, full ANC p<0.01), also in terms of hospital delivery literate women is (OR=1.52, p<0.01) or 1.53 times. Women's education encouragement and support should be advocated because is one among the many strategies to improve the utilisation of the services of maternal health

    Cardiovascular involvement in multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children with COVID-19

    In children, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infections typically result in a less severe coronavirus 19 (COVID-19) presentation than in adults. However, a subset of children presents with severe multisystem inflammation associated with recent SARS-CoV-2 infection or COVID-19 exposure in the previous weeks. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has termed this condition a multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C). MIS-C causes significant cardiovascular involvement, which can be a determinant of clinical course and outcomes. A subset of MIS-C patients presents with hypotension and shock either from acute myocardial dysfunction or systemic vasodilation, with at least of third of patients developing cardiac manifestations from the illness. In addition, myocarditis, pericarditis, valvular regurgitation, coronary artery involvement, and arrhythmias have been reported, with a smaller subset of patients requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. Here, we report our institutional experience of MIS-C over the last year and present a narrative review of cases reported in the literature. In addition, we discuss the clinical protocol of diagnosis and acute and follow-up management of these patients with MIS-C
