Abstract. In this study, it was aimed at investigating the sustainability-themed advertisements of companies in depth. Thus, the contents of 52 printed or electronic advertisements in which there were items about sustainability, constituted the scope of the research. In the study, in-depth and critical document review technique which is one of the qualitative research methods was used. Moreover, quantitative analysis was conducted for the frequencies of data coded via quantitative research. In terms of data analysis, Nvivo 8 and SPSS 16.0 programs were used. In the end of the research, environmental, social and economic solution proposals were identified via nodes and tree-diagrams, and these solution proposals were compared with the type of the organization. In this regard, it was determined that profit organizations make more sustainability proposals than non-profit organizations. Furthermore, it was found that there was significant relation between type of the organization and sustainability dimensions of its advertisements.Keywords. Due to the COVID-19, many radical changes have occurred in our daily life. The main purpose of this study is to examine the impacts of COVID-19 pandemic on the household behavior and waste changes in the largest city of Turkey, Istanbul. Research data were collected through an online survey, from 946 participants and frequency and logistic regression analyses were conducted. As a result of the frequency analyses of the data, it was revealed that mask, glove, disposable bag usage, cooking at home, online shopping, cargo arrival, dishwasher and washing machine usage increased; on the contrary, ordering food from outside decreased among the participants. In line with these behavioral changes, we found that medical, food, disposable bag and plastic wastes generated by the sampled households increased, as well. Illuminating the results of frequency distributions, we conducted logistic regression analyses to explain the changes in each household behavior as well as waste disposal based on income and size of households during this pandemic period. The empirical findings of the present study highlight the importance of developing special management strategies for medical, food and plastic wastes and for households with different socio-economic backgrounds by local and central authorities in order to reduce the negative environmental impacts of COVID-19

WOS: 000413090700002Purpose - Through the lens of a total quality management approach, this paper aims to examine the effects of health-care service quality on patient satisfaction, repatronage intention (RI) and positive word-of mouth (PWOM) at a public hospital specialized in women and children's diseases. The contribution is to measure and compare patient expectations and perceptions related to the public health service quality. Design/methodology/approach - A structured questionnaire was distributed to in-patients who stayed at a public training and research hospital for at least three days. To analyze the relationship between variables, multiple regression analysis was used. To test the difference between expected and perceived service quality, the paired-sample t-test was used. Findings - The findings provided empirical evidence that perceived service quality significantly influenced patient satisfaction, RI and PWOM. The "responsiveness and reliability" factor was found to be the most influential on patient RI and PWOM. The "tangibility" dimension had the strongest influence on patient satisfaction. Practical implications - The results reveal that a reliable and responsive service, empathic personnel behaviors and appropriate tangibles are the outstanding factors for high levels of patient satisfaction, RI and PWOM. Originality/value - Although the concepts of perceived service quality, patient satisfaction, RI and PWOM are explored frequently in service literature, there are few researches that focus on specialized health services for women and children's diseases. By evaluating the service quality, it is hoped to provide an insight to health-care managers about the service quality dimensions and their relationship with patient satisfaction, RI and PWOM, specifically based on women patients
