FMI Compliant Approach to Investigate the Impact of Communication to Islanded Microgrid Secondary Control
In multi-master islanded microgrids, the inverter controllers need to share
the signals and to coordinate, in either centralized or distributed way, in
order to operate properly and to assure a good functionality of the grid. The
central controller is used in centralized strategy. In distributed control,
Multi-agent system (MAS) is considered to be a suitable solution for
coordination of such system. However the latency and disturbance of the network
may disturb the communication from central controller to local controllers or
among agents or and negatively influence the grid operation. As a consequence,
communication aspects need to be properly addressed during the control design
and assessment. In this paper, we propose a holistic approach with
co-simulation using Functional Mockup Interface (FMI) standard to validate the
microgrid control system taking into account the communication network. A
use-case of islanded microgrid frequency secondary control with MAS under
consensus algorithm is implemented to demonstrate the impact of communication
and to illustrate the proposed holistic approach.Comment: Proceedings of the IEEE PES ISGT Asia 2017 conferenc
Accurate Visual Features for Automatic Tag Correction in Videos
International audienceWe present a new system for video auto tagging which aims at correcting the tags provided by users for videos uploaded on the Internet. Unlike most existing systems, in our proposal, we do not use the questionable textual information nor any supervised learning system to perform a tag propagation. We propose to compare directly the visual content of the videos described by different sets of features such as Bag-Of-visual-Words or frequent patterns built from them. We then propose an original tag correction strategy based on the frequency of the tags in the visual neighborhood of the videos. Experiments on a Youtube corpus show that our method can effectively improve the existing tags and that frequent patterns are useful to construct accurate visual features
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SEAFOOD EXPORT AND VIETNAM'S ECONOMIC GROWTH IN THE PERIOD OF 2005 – 2022
This article studies the relationship between seafood exports and Vietnam's economic growth in the period 2005 - 2022. To conduct the research, the authors collected data on seafood export turnover and economic growth rate - represented by real gross domestic product (GDPr) in the period from 2005 to 2022. Data is collected from the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO) and international financial statistics sites (IFS, IMF). After synthesizing and cleaning the data, the research team used Eviews 8 software to analyze the data series to examine the relationship between seafood export turnover and economic growth during the research period. Model results show that when seafood export turnover increases by 1%, economic growth increases by 1.041382%, so it can be confirmed that seafood export has a positive relationship with Vietnam's economic growth during the research period. From the research results, the authors have several proposals to promote the growth of Vietnamese seafood exports to the international market in the post-pandemic context and the volatile world seafood market situation
Unsupervised Video Tag Correction System
National audienceWe present a new system for video auto tagging which aims at cor- recting and completing the tags provided by users for videos uploaded on the Internet. Unlike most existing systems, we do not learn any tag classifiers or use the questionable textual information to compare our videos. We propose to compare directly the visual content of the videos described by different sets of features such as Bag-of-visual-Words or frequent patterns built from them. Then, we propagate tags between visually similar videos according to the frequency of these tags in a given video neighborhood. We also propose a controlled experimental set up to evaluate such a system. Experiments show that with suitable features, we are able to correct a reasonable amount of tags in Web videos
‘The painting can be fake, but not the feeling’: an overview of the Vietnamese market through the lens of fake, forgery and copy paintings
A work of Vietnamese art crossed a million-dollar mark in the international art market in early 2017. The event was reluctantly seen as a sign of maturity from the Vietnamese art amidst the many existing problems. Even though the Vietnamese media has discussed the issues enthusiastically, there is a lack of literature from the Vietnamese academics examining the subject, and even rarer in from the market perspective. This paper aims to contribute an insightful perspective on the Vietnamese art market, and hesitantly the Vietnamese art as well, through the lens of fake, forgery and copy artworks. 35 cases of fake, forgery and copy paintings were found on the news and from the experts' wisdom. Through the examples, we argue that the Vietnamese art market is a temporary reaction to the immaturely rising of the Vietnamese art and the economy. Therefore, the art market is unable to function healthily unless the Vietnamese art and the economy developed
On how religions could accidentally incite lies and violence: folktales as a cultural transmitter
Folklore has a critical role as a cultural transmitter, all the while being a socially accepted medium for the expressions of culturally contradicting wishes and conducts. In this study of Vietnamese folktales, through the use of Bayesian multilevel modeling and the Markov chain Monte Carlo technique, we offer empirical evidence for how the interplay between religious teachings (Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism) and deviant behaviors (lying and violence) could affect a folktale’s outcome. The findings indicate that characters who lie and/or commit violent acts tend to have bad endings, as intuition would dictate, but when they are associated with any of the above Three Teachings, the final endings may vary. Positive outcomes are seen in cases where characters associated with Confucianism lie and characters associated with Buddhism act violently. The results supplement the worldwide literature on discrepancies between folklore and real-life conduct, as well as on the contradictory human behaviors vis-à -vis religious teachings. Overall, the study highlights the complexity of human decision-making, especially beyond the folklore realm
Embedding Sustainable Consumption into Higher Education in Vietnam
Changing in the way that human produces and consumes are indispensable to achieve sustainable consumption. All of the countries in developed economies, economies in transition and developing economies should promote sustainable consumption. This will require larger changes in society. Higher education plays a vital role in promoting understanding, awareness of professors, staff members and students of sustainable consumption. Through higher education, these people would be positively change their mind about this issue. National Economics University (NEU) is one of the leading university in economics in Vietnam as a case study. Students graduated from the university will be future experts, leaders and businessmen. After graduation, as academic citizens with acquainted knowledge and skills, they will influence the economic and social changes though their business and private purchasing habits and decisions. Using data from the University, this paper will reveal the current landscape of sustainable consumption at National Economics University through the years. In order to embed this issues into education, the university should incorporate sustainable consumption into the curriculum, create and implement a sustainability plan and adjust teaching method to encourage students asking questions, analyzing, thinking critically and making decisions toward sustainable consumption.
