    Webbing and orchestration. Two interrelated views on digital tools in mathematics education

    The integration of digital tools in mathematics education is considered both promising and problematic. To deal with this issue, notions of webbing and instrumental orchestration are developed. However, the two seemed to be disconnected, and having different cultural and theoretical roots. In this article, we investigate the distinct and joint journeys of these two theoretical perspectives. Taking some key moments in recent history as points of de- parture, we conclude that the two perspectives share an importance attributed to digital tools, and that initial differences, such as different views on the role of digital tools and the role of the teacher, have become more nuances. The two approaches share future chal- lenges to the organization of teachers'collaborative work and their use of digital resources.Comment: Teaching Mathematics and its Applications (2014) to be complete

    Projeto de Graduação apresentado à Universidade Fernando Pessoa como parte dos requisitos para obtenção do grau de Licenciado em FisioterapiaIntrodução: A Fisioterapia tem vindo a apresentar inúmeros testes para avaliação da flexibilidade e força. O teste Thomas, por exemplo, procura avaliar a flexibilidade do músculo iliopsoas assim como o do reto femoral e o tensor da fáscia lata. Objetivo: Perceber as repercussões cinemáticas da execução do teste de Thomas e sua relação com a função neuromuscular do membro inferior. Metodologia: Análise da cinemática tridimensional do teste de Thomas através do sistema de captura e análise de movimento 3D, Qualisys Oqus Camera Series, e da avaliação da força isocinética da musculatura do joelho. Resultados: Após a análise dos dados obtidos, verificou-se que não existem diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre as variáveis usadas para o estudo. No entanto, encontrou-se uma correlação negativa forte para as variáveis Peak torque 180°/s em flexão (N/M) e Peak torque em flexão/peso corporal (%). Conclusão:.: Existe uma relação estatisticamente significativa entre a posição final da anca do membro estabilizado e da perna em teste.Introduction: In physiotherapy, a considerable number of tests for flexibility and strength is being studied. Thomas test, for example, is used to measure the flexibility of the iliopsoas and range of movement of the hip joint, rectus femoris, and tensor fasciae latae. In the same way, the test can be used to measure shortening muscle of the hip flexion. Objective: Understanding kinematics implications of the Thomas test and its relation with lower limbs neuromuscular function. Methodology: Analysis of threedimensional kinematics of the Thomas test using Qualisys Oqus Camera Series, a capture and 3D motion analysis system, and measurement of isokinetic strengh of the knee by isokinetic dynamometer. Results: After data analysis,there were significant statistical differences between the final knee position of the tested limb and of the stabilized hip. . Conclusion: There is a relation between the final hip position of the stabilized hip and the knee tested.N/

    International audienceRESUME : Nous proposons d'étudier les dispositifs, dans les musées d'histoire des guerres, diffusant par l'image ou par le son des témoignages. Il s'agira de comprendre dans quelles conditions est mis le visiteur pour favoriser son attention ? Nous décortiquerons les dispositifs, et notamment leur place dans l'exposition permanente, avec l'objectif de saisir ce qui se passe dans ces moments particuliers. Autrement dit, quel rapport à l'histoire est mis en place par la mémoire individuelle ? ABSTRACT : CURRENT USE OF IMAGES AND RECORDINGS OF WITNESSES IN WAR MUSEUMS. We propose studying the approaches used in war history museums, which diffuse images or sound recordings of testimonials. Our aim will be to understand the conditions created to capture and retain the visitor's attention. We will carry out a detailed analysis of the approaches, including their position within the permanent exhibition, in order to find out what transpires during these unique moments. In other words, what relationship to history can be created by individual memory?     International audienceFrench experiments carried out over the last three years on mathematics teaching in complex calculator environments-in particular with TI-92-allow to draw some lessons:-the introduction of this kind of calculators does not simplify the teacher's work, nor the pupils' ;-it requires a new teaching organization of learning space and a new management style of time. We shall argue that, under these conditions, work in complex calculator environments can lead to a transformation of students' relationships to mathematics (giving priority to the creative side of work). Moreover, one can observe a transformation of students' collective relationships to knowledge (giving greater importance to social aspects)

    Images en surface, mouvements d’images: Pratique du tuning et transformations esthétiques

    International audienceThis article questions the practice of the tuning as the fabrication of a reflexive form for media images. First of all, we study the principles of this practice, to notice that it is the mark of an identification-projection on behalf of the praticing. It is from it that we have then showed that the surface of the bodywork, considered as a screen, acts as support in “the attributes of emulsification of the picture” in reference to Alain Mons. In link with architecture, the transformed car marks its link in the image and makes itself space of representation.Cet article interroge la pratique du tuning comme fabrique d’un espace investi par l’image médiatique. Nous étudions, tout d’abord, les principes de cette pratique pour relever qu’elle est la marque d’une identification-projection de la part des pratiquants. C'est à partir de cela que nous avons ensuite montré que la surface de la carrosserie, considérée comme écran, sert de support aux « propriétés émulsives de l’image » en référence à Alain Mons. En lien avec l’architecture, la voiture transformée marque son lien étroit à l’image et se fait espace de représentation

    Mathematics teacher education advanced methods: an example in dynamic geometry

    International audienceWe present a research work about an innovative national teacher training program in France: the Pairform@nce program, designed to sustain ICT integration. The Pairform@nce trainings are grounded in a principle of collective lesson design by teams of trainees; they associate face-to-face and distant training. We study here a training for secondary school teachers, whose objective is to foster the development of an inquiry-based approach in the teaching of mathematics, using investigative potentialities of dynamic geometry environments (DGE). We adopt the theoretical background of the documentational approach to didactics for studying how a training organizing the design of lessons by teachers teams can contribute to teacher professional development, directed in particular towards more inquiry in the classroom supported by DGE. This approach conceptualizes the interactions between teachers and resources as geneses: complex, long-term processes, associating evolutions and stability. In the frame of this approach, for studying these geneses, we develop a specific methodology: we organize a follow-up of teachers during several weeks; during this period, the teachers fill a logbook describing their activity; they answer to questionnaires and interviews; we also collect as completely as possible the material resources involved in their work. We followed in particular the work of a team of trainees; drawing on the data collected, we analyse their professional development, related with the training. We discuss on a more general level, the consequences of a training based on collective documentation work for the integration of technology by mathematics teachers
