Modeling of Washing Circuits in Mining - A Networked System Approach

The models of two process system networks in an alumina refinery are developed in this paper. These models have been used in the numerical simulations in previous work. They are the washing circuits widely used in the mineral processing plants. The process modeling here is to derive a state space model for the multi-variable feedback control design purpose. The complex process system is modelled as an interconnected system having a mixed connection configuration. The interactions between equipment and sub-processes via the material flows within an unit operation are modelled as interactive variables of subsystems under the auspices of interconnected system formulation

Well-Rounded ideal lattices of cyclic cubic and quartic fields

In this paper, we find criteria for when cyclic cubic and cyclic quartic fields have well-rounded ideal lattices. We show that every cyclic cubic field has at least one well-rounded ideal. We also prove that there exist families of cyclic quartic fields which have well-rounded ideals and explicitly construct their minimal bases. In addition, for a given prime number pp, if a cyclic quartic field has a unique prime ideal above pp, then we provide the necessary and sufficient conditions for that ideal to be well-rounded. Moreover, in cyclic quartic fields, we provide the prime decomposition of all odd prime numbers and construct an explicit integral basis for every prime ideal.Comment: 26 page

Well-Rounded Twists of Ideal Lattices from Imaginary Quadratic Fields

In this paper, we investigate the properties of well-rounded twists of a given ideal lattice of an imaginary quadratic field KK. We show that every ideal lattice II of KK has at least one well-rounded twist lattice. Moreover, we provide an explicit algorithm to compute all well-rounded twists of II.Comment: 24 page

The effect of metal corrosion on the structural reliability of the Pre-Engineered steel frame

Nowadays, Pre-Engineered steel buildings are widely used in the field of the industrial construction. However, design standards often only care about the safety (or reliability) at the start time but not concerned about the deterioration of reliability during used under the metal corrosive of environment. Meanwhile, reliability and durability of steel structure depend heavily on metal corrosion of environmental, this is uncertainty parameters. In this research presents the effect of the safety of Pre-Engineered steel frames considering metal corrosion. The metal corrosion modeling used to propose by M.E. Komp. Reliability of the structure is evaluated using Monte Carlo simulation method and Finite Element Method (FEM). This computer program is written by using the MATLAB programming language. The results numbers are reliability and durability behaviors under corrosion are determined for exposure about from 10 - 50 years. Effects of input parameters are also investigated

The Sharing Economy and Collaborative Finance: the Case of P2p Lending in Vietnam

    Get PDF
Peer-to-peer Online Lending (P2PO) has received increasing attention over the last years, not only because of its disruptive nature and its disintermediation of nearly all major banking functions, but also because of its rapid growth and expanding breadth of services. This model offers a new way of investing in addition to investing in traditional channels such as banking or financial company. The transaction process is done online, the personal information and terms of mobilization are completely transparent and secure in the best way. The strong development of P2PO also raises a number of issues that require careful attention to promote positive and to limit negative aspects. The research aims to highlight particular aspects of this new business model and to analyze the opportunities and risks for lenders and borrowers in Viet Nam. The research combines qualitative analysis and data survey to serve descriptive statistics about P2PO in Viet Nam. The research show the potential of online peer lending is enormous but the regulators will restrict the Sharing economy model in general and P2PO lending in particula

Total flow of N and P in Vietnam urban wastes

    Get PDF
The amount of organic matters, N and P, is quite significant in urban wastes, especially in wastewater and solid wastes. It was found from this study that their production was about 302,241 ton of TN/day and 54,682 ton of TP/day. During the urbanization and industrialization, these numbers continue to increase. These nutrient matters can be used in agriculture as well as in other practices. Nevertheless, they will become pollutants when being discharged to surrounding environment (rivers, lakes, etc.) as they cause water eutrophication and increase risks for water supply

Emerging trend in second messenger communication and myoendothelial feedback

    Get PDF
Over the past decade, second messenger communication has emerged as one of the intriguing topics in the field of vasomotor control. Of particular interest has been the idea of second messenger flux from smooth muscle to endothelium initiating a feedback response that attenuates constriction. Mechanistic details of the precise signaling cascade have until recently remained elusive. In this perspective, we introduce readers to how myoendothelial gaps junctions could enable sufficient inositol trisphosphate flux to initiate endothelial Ca2+ events that activate Ca2+ sensitive K+ channels. The resulting hyperpolarizing current would in turn spreads back through the same myoendothelial gap junctions to moderate smooth muscle depolarization and constriction. In discussing this defined feedback mechanism, this brief manuscript will stress the importance of microdomains and of discrete cellular signaling
