Angiogenesis is a key factor in tumor growth, invasion, and metastasis. The aim of the present study is to investigate the diagnostic and predictive value of prostatic cancer (PC) angiogenesis by immunohistochemically examination of CD34, VEGF and Ki-67 in40 cases of PC, 8 cases of nodular hyperplasia and 8 cases of intraepithelial neoplasia. It was found that the density of microvessels and intensity data of stroma but not epithelium VEGF staining in PC more than in benign pathology, and increased with risk of recurrence and as the differentiation of cancer was reduced. Results indicate that the vascularization is a sign of growth and progression of PC and may be used as predictor of the disease

Fundamentals of financial and economic security management of Ukrainian enterprises

    Get PDF
The financial and economic security of an enterprise is a complex system that includes a certain set of internal characteristics aimed to ensure the efficiency of corporate resources use in each direction of activity. The basis of the development of a complex system of financial and economic security of an enterprise should be a defined concept. Each enterprise is a system that includes different, interconnected components, which in order to ensure proper degree of protection against possible negative impacts should be considered comprehensively. The content and structure of the financial and economic security system depend on the specifics and nature of the activity of the enterprise, its potential, the markets that it operates, as well as its management. The financial and economic security system of an enterprise must be comprehensive and independent from similar systems of economic entities

Influence of equation of state on interpretation of electrical conductivity measurements in strongly coupled tungsten plasma

    Get PDF
We study the influence of equation-of-state (EOS) model on the interpretation of electrical conductivity measurements in strongly coupled plasma of tungsten by Korobenko et al. (2002 Plasma Physics Reports 28(12) 1008--1016). Three different semiempirical EOS models for tungsten are used. Discrepancies in obtained thermodynamic parameters and specific resistivity values as compared with calculation results of Korobenko et al. are analysed.Comment: 11 pages, 5 Postscript figures, accepted for publication in J. Financial potential: strategic management in conditions of economic risk

    Get PDF
In the monograph the scientific substantiation of the theoretical positions of enterprises financial potential under the influence of economic risks is conducted. A methodological approach and practical principles for their management and consistency in assessing the level of financial potential influenced by economic risks are developed. Three levels of financial potential are identified: high, medium and low, and its profile is compiled for each industrial enterprise. A methodical approach to the study of economic risks is proposed, organizational support of strategic management that involves the interests of stakeholders is developed and supplemented. Recommendations on managing the financial potential of an industrial enterprise are of practical nature and can be used in the production activities of industrial enterprises. This collective monograph will be useful for senior students of higher education institutions, masters, postgraduates and young scientists, who are investigating the question of financial potential of industrial enterprises under the influence of economic risk

Organizational and economic mechanism of a business security as a guarantee of its sustainable development

In the process of the writing of this article, it was established that the organizational and economic mechanism of a business security ensuring involves the use of various techniques, methods, and tools. Their combination is necessary to ensure a reliable security system and stable sustainable development of a business activity as a whole. It has been established that enterprises of different sizes, types, volumes of activity possess unequal organizational and financial capabilities. In addition, various is the level of risk under which business entities are engaged. However, the conclusion is definite that the implementation of the organizational and economic mechanism for the enterprise security ensuring is vital in financial and economic aspects and can be organized in different business areas in different ways. It is proved that the security mechanism action from the point of view of financial and economic aspect implies enterprise adaptation to innovations under the following conditions: the innovations are to be maximally ready for implementation; the motivation to implement them is the need to protect the enterprise interests; the probability of obtaining a positive result in the implementation of innovations should be high. It has been established that significant factors in the process of increasing the level of a business security are the financial and economic measures, which aim to cover losses and to eliminate the causes of their occurrence, to recover (preserve) the liquidity and solvency, to reduce the amount of debt, to improve the working capital structure, etc. It is proved that further research in the field of planning and implementation of tactical measures for ensuring the financial and economic security of business is needed. It is aimed at the assessment and analysis of the level of a business security and its dynamics, which will allow to determine the effectiveness of the implemented measures; an assessment of the efficiency of utilization of the enterprise financial potential, which is the main basis for the implementation of measures to ensure the organizational and economic mechanism of a business security. Since the implementation of organizational and economic tools into the security field often requires the allocation of significant financial resources and opportunities (financial potential), the substantiation of scientific recommendations for assessing cost-effectiveness become significant. It was found that the organizational and economic mechanism of a business security ensuring would effectively use corporate resources, create preconditions for achieving business targets, timely identify and optimize all possible hazards, threats, and risks of the enterprise activity in the conditions of acute competition and changing environment. It is recommended to propose the following measures to enhance business security: development and implementation of security system (structure) in business processes of the enterprise activity; improvement and optimization of the existing enterprise security service; business security outsourcing services; services of the enterprise personnel security; provision of services to provide economic and internal security of the enterprise; providing necessary data and information for the business functioning security insurances; checking (auditing) of existing security services of enterprises for their effective work and reliability; services for the enterprise security employees training (advanced training); personnel selection of professionally trained staff for the enterprise security service

Coulomb Charging Effects in an Open Quantum Dot

Low-temperature transport properties of a lateral quantum dot formed by overlaying finger gates in a clean one-dimensional channel are investigated. Continuous and periodic oscillations superimposed upon ballistic conductance steps are observed, when the conductance G of the dot changes within a wide range 0<G<6e^2/h. Calculations of the electrostatics confirm that the measured periodic conductance oscillations correspond to successive change of the total charge of the dot by ee. By modelling the transport it is shown that the progression of the Coulomb oscillations into the region G>2e^2/h may be due to suppression of inter-1D-subband scattering. Fully transmitted subbands contribute to coherent background of conductance, while sequential tunneling via weakly transmitted subbands leads to Coulomb charging of the dot.Comment: 12 pages, RevTeX, 15 eps figures included, submitted to Phys. Quantum corrections to the conductivity and Hall coefficient of a 2D electron gas in a dirty AlGaAs/GaAs/AlGaAs quantum well: transition from diffusive to ballistic regime

We report an experimental study of the quantum corrections to the longitudinal conductivity and the Hall coefficient of a low mobility, high density two-dimensional two-dimensional electron gas in a AlGaAs/GaAs/AlGaAs quantum well in a wide temperature range (1.5 K - 110 K). This temperature range covers both the diffusive and the ballistic interaction regimes for our samples. It was therefore possible to study the crossover region for the longitudinal conductivity and the Hall effect
