Lai Chau province has many potentialities in agricultural development such as climate, soil, diverse topography, support policies of the Government, locality, long tradition of farming...Period 2016 - 2020, the growth rate of the agricultural sector will maintain from 5-6%, the food production is increased, Some dominant crops of the province are being invested for development: tea, medicinal plants, specialty rice...However, the level of deep processing for agricultural products is still low, so the value of goods is not high, the products are mainly consumed in the domestic market, the penetration into supermarkets or export is still limited...Therefore, building a suitable agricultural development orientation will help farmers, businesses, and the Lai Chau province government to have specific solutions in the future to bring high-tech agriculture becomes a key economic direction of the province

An Application of Vector Autoregressive Model for Analyzing the Impact of Weather And Nearby Traffic Flow On The Traffic Volume

This paper aims to predict the traffic flow at one road segment based on nearby traffic volume and weather conditions. Our team also discover the impact of weather conditions and nearby traffic volume on the traffic flow at a target point. The analysis results will help solve the problem of traffic flow prediction and develop an optimal transport network with efficient traffic movement and minimal traffic congestion. Hourly historical weather and traffic flow data are selected to solve this problem. This paper uses model VAR(36) with time trend and constant to train the dataset and forecast. With an RMSE of 565.0768111 on average, the model is considered appropriate although some statistical tests implies that the residuals are unstable and non-normal. Also, this paper points out some variables that are not useful in forecasting, which helps simplify the data-collecting process when building the forecasting system.Comment: International Conference on Computing and Communication Technologies (RIVF2022

STUDENTS' PERCEPTION OF THE INFLUENCE OF INTONATION IN ENGLISH ON CONVEYING THE MEANING OF SPEECH IN COMMUNICATION

    Get PDF
In communication, intonation plays an important role in conveying the meaning of a speech. In this article, we study students' perception of the influence of intonation in conveying the meaning of speech in communication to propose solutions to help students overcome intonation errors when communicating, as well as, help teachers have appropriate intonation teaching methods. Our data and analysis are based on research documents, surveys, and in-depth interviews with students. According to the study results, most students are well aware of the importance of intonation and of the factors affecting intonation, and they are also aware of the causes of intonation errors. However, students do not apply their knowledge of intonation to speech, they stop at the cognitive level. The study indicates that students often make intonation mistakes in Tag-question, Wh-question, and Imperative sentence in communication.  Article visualizations

Screening for actinomyces isolated from soil with the ability to inhibit Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae causing rice bacterial blight disease in Vietnam

Bacterial blight disease caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) is one of the major diseases in rice culture of Northen Vietnam, as well as other rice-growing regions of the world. In this study, we isolated and screened for actinomycete strains from Vietnam with the ability to inhibit Xoo isolates from northern Vietnam. From 90 actinomycete strains taken from soil in northern Vietnam in 2010, we screened for their antagonistic activity against 10 races of Xoo causing rice bacterial blight disease. Three actinomycete strains were found to inhibit all 10 Xoo races. Among the three strains, a strain namely VN10-A-44 was shown not to have the ability to produce toxic compounds and was selected for further study. The strain was identified as Streptomyces virginiae by 16S ribosomal RNA gene sequencing. We replaced soybean meal with tofu waste in antibiotic producing medium to improve antagonistic activity of VN10-A-44 against the Xoo pathogen and to make use of tofu waste for large-scale fermentation of VN10-A-44. We found that replacing soybean meal with 20 and 30 g of tofu waste/litter in the antibiotic producing medium gave the largest inhibition zone against the Xoo pathogen.Key words: Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae, rice bacterial blight disease, Streptomyces virginiae, Vietnam

Preliminary assessment of organochlorine pesticide residues in the sediment from serveral estuaries and Tam Giang - Cau Hai lagoon, Thua Thien Hue, 2005

Organochlorine pesticide residue were determined in sediments collected from three estuary zones fowarding Tam Giang - Cau Hai Lagoon, Thua Thien Hue, Vietnam during the dry season in 2005. A total of 10 sediment samples were collected at the river estuaries and along the lagoon. Base on Sediment Criteria of Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA, 1999) [1] and the Canadian Environmental Quality Guidelines (Canadian EQG, 2002) [3], the site specific Sediment Criterion for specific contaminant was derived to help determine what concentrations of chemicals are likely to be associated with adverse biological effects. The concentrations these contaminants were in the range of 0.2 - 8.2 µg/kg sediment for DDTs, 4.9 - 92.4 µg/kg sediment for HCHs, 1.5 - 110 µg/kg sediment for aldrin dieldrin and 0.6 - 27.9 for endrin. Most of results were exceeded the Sediment Criteria for Human Health Bioaccumulation. Some of them even exceeded the Wildlife Bioaccumulation Criteria and exceeded the Canadian Environmental Quality Guidelines.  The results obtained in this study show that there still exist a variety of organochlorine pesticide residues in the sediments from the estuaries and lagoon of Thua Thien Hue province

Input Factors Affecting of Orange Production in Tuyen Quang Province, Vietnam

Orange production in Tuyen Quang province contributed as one of the largest and most productive for the whole national yield in Viet Nam orange production. This study focused on input factors that impact the orange production in Tuyen Quang and econometric modeling of this production for further assessment. Results of this study show that three main inputs impact on orange production, including fertilizer cost, pesticides cost, and hired labor cost. Econometric models were built which were suitable for the studied population.Peer reviewe

This study analyzes the wage differential of male and female workers, and labor in urban and rural areas in the Mekong Delta provinces using the VHLSS 2014 data. The results of the decomposition of the wage disparity between men and women show unexplained difference has the major contribution in the wage gap between men and women, in particular the differences in the returns to academic and professional degrees for male and female workers. Meanwhile, the explained difference has lower explanatory power, suggesting that most of attributes of male and female labor do not significantly differ. The results of the decomposition of urban-rural wage differential show the opposite: the difference is mainly due to the fact that urban workers are more educated than rural labor, while the unexplained difference has lower explanatory power. Based on these results, the paper proposes a number of recommendations to reduce the income gap in the Mekong Delta
