    THE APPLICATION OF CREATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING METHOD IN TEACHING READING RECOUNT TEXTS TO THE TENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL 2 PALEMBANG

    The title of this study was, “The Application of Creative Problem Solving Method in Teaching Reading Recount Texts to the Tenth Grade Students of Senior High School 2 Palembang”. The purpose of this study was to find out whether there was significance difference or not between the students who were taught in Application of Creative Problem Solving Method in Reading Recount Texts to the Tenth Grade Students of Senior High School 2 Palembang and those who were not. Nonequivalent control group design of quasi-experimental design was applied in this study. Based on the result of this study, the creative problem solving method could improve students’ achievement in reading recount text. It was gained from the students’ post-test scores in the experimental group which were higher than the control group where the average of students’ posttest in experimental group was 78.19 and post test in control group was 68.68. From the calculation of the data, it was found out that score of t-obtained was 4.099 and score of t-table was 1.994. With significance level (0.05) for two tailed. It meant that t-obtained was higher than t-table, 4.099 > 1.994. Since t obtained was higher than t-table, the Null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and Alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. It could be concluded that there was a significant difference between the students taught in Application of Creative Problem Solving Method in Reading Recount Texts to the Tenth Grade Students of Senior High School 2 Palembang and those who were not

    TEACHING READING COMPREHENSION THROUGH NUMBERED HEADS TOGETHER TO THE ELEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMA NURUL AMAL PALEMBANG

    ABSTRACT            The formulation of the problem of this study was “is it effective to use Numbered Heads Together in teaching reading comprehension to the eleventh grade students of SMA Nurul Amal Palembang”. The objective of this study was to find out whether or not it was effective to teach reading comprehension through numbered heads together to the eleventh grade students of SMA Nurul Amal Palembang.This study used pre-experimental method. The data were collected through written test. Then they were analyzed by using matched t-test. The population of the study wass all of the eleventh grade students of SMA Nurul Amal Palembang in the academic of 2018/2019. The sample were 40 students taken by using convenience sampling.It prove that the students’ score in post-test was higher than pre-test. From the data of analysis above, it can be stated that teaching reading comprehenison through numbered heads together to the eleventh grade students of SMA Nurul Amal Palembang was effective.Keyword:teaching, reading, numbered head

    PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBING PROMPTING LEARNING TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR SISWA SMA NURUL AMAL

    The problem in this research was whether there is the effect of the Probing Prompting Learning model on student learning outcomes in the10thgradersof SMANurulAmal Palembang. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of the Probing Prompting Learning model on student learning outcomes at SMA NurulAmal Palembang. The method used in this study was the experimental method using two classes, namely the experimental class, and the control class. Meanwhile, the data collection technique was done by tests, and documentation techniques, then the data were analyzed by the data analysis technique using t-test analysis. The results showed that the average value of the experimental class was more than 80.24 compared to the control class of 63.6 and the calculations resulted tcountedtableie, 7.02 ≥ 1.667 then Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. In other words, there was the influence of the Probing Prompting Learning model on learning outcomes

    Research on "Is there any influence of the Take and Give learning model on student learning outcomes in English subjects in class VI SD IT Qurrota'ayun belitang OKUT"? and The purpose of this study is to: find out whether there is an effect of "Take and Give learning model on student learning outcomes in English learning of students grade VI SD IT Qurrota'ayun belitang OKUT?". The method used in this research is the experimental method. Data collection techniques are through documentation, test techniques, instrument testing techniques and data analysis techniques. Data were analyzed using Data Normality Test, Homogeneity Test, Hypothesis Test. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that: (1) After analyzing the form of tests, it is known that the Take and Give learning model has a significant influence on the learning outcomes of English class VI SD IT Qurrota'ayun belitang OKUT. Based on the analysis of the data that has been done, the average student learning outcomes obtained in the experimental class are higher than students in the control class who are not treated. (2) Success in the learning process by applying the Take and Give learning model is very influential, because this learning model emphasizes the activeness of students to work together and speed and accuracy in learning activities so that learning outcomes increase.Keywords: Effect of Take and Give learning models, Student Learning Outcomes

    INTERACTIVE ANIMATION TO INCREASE THE STUDENTS' READING COMPREHENSION

    The aim of this study was to examine the effects and advantages experienced by teachers and students when utilizing interactive animation. The research problem in this study focused on the perceptions of teachers and students regarding the impact of interactive animation on enhancing students' abilities as well as the benefits associated with its use. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method, and data was gathered through triangulation using questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The data analysis revealed that animated videos facilitated easier comprehension of narrative texts for students. The videos effectively portrayed moving objects accompanied by sound, captivating students' attention and fostering their enthusiasm during the learning process. The students demonstrated active engagement and attentiveness to the storyline. Utilizing animated videos as a teaching tool for narrative texts was found to be an effective approach. Finally, it is essential for teachers to address the basic English skills of their students as they navigate the challenges associated with this teaching method

    The aims of this research was to determine students' perceptions of the effectiveness of learning reading by using electronic books (E-books). The formulation of the problem in this research is focused on what is the students' perception about the effectiveness learning reading by using electronic books (E-books). This research used descriptive qualitative method. The data were collected by triangulation, namely observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The results of the data showed that students' perceptions about the effectiveness of learning reading by using electronic books (E-books) provide a good perception. Electronic books (E-books) are good learning media to be applied to students to help students learn to be more independent

    ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING IN THE INDONESIAN CONTEXT TOWARD EDUTECH 4.0

    Abstract: Edutech or Educational Technology is when the process the study contains technology to facilitating. It means that educational technology is when the technology is the part of education. In the era of 4.0, technology is used for facilitating education systems. The main problem of this study was “What are the challenges that create the educational technological immersion for English language teaching?” and “How teachers can adapt to the Edutech 4.0?”. Therefore, the main objective of this study were to find out there was any significant challanges that create the educational technological immersion for English language teaching and also the way English teachers of SMPN 7 Pangkalpinang adapt to the Edutech 4.0. This study applied Qualitative Design. The Informants of this study were the Headmaster, English teachers and the students at SMPN 7 Pangkalpinang. The data were collected by using observation, interview, and questionnaire. Based on this study, the result showed that the teachers can easily adapted with the Google Suites for Education, all of the teachers are comfortable in using Google Suites for Education as the Edutech but they still find difficulty to inteact with the students. Keywords : Edutech, Google Suites for Education, Teaching English.

    AN ANALYSIS OF ENGLISH-SPEAKING ACTIVITY FOR INTROVERT LEARNERS’ NECESSITY

    This study focuses on introvert learners in eighth grader of A and B class. Totaling 72 students and 2 teachers at state Junior High School 2 Sungailiat. The objective of this study is to determine the lack and expectation of introvert learners and the teacher of English handles introvert learners for the importance of their speaking ability. This study used descriptive study and used questionnaire to analyze students who are classified as introvert and interviewed with teacher of English and counseling teacher. The result that 8 introvert learners in eighth grader of A and B class. The biggest problems faced by introvert learners were lack of vocabulary and self-confidence in their speaking activities. Introvert learners found it difficult to express opinions in front of many people. Then, teacher of English could provide learning based on the lack of introvert learners, such as group discussion, thus introvert learners could express their opinions in a small scope. The expectation of introvert learners, was that teacher of English paid more attention to themselves. The teacher could provide material with the media of English songs because introvert learners tend to be audio-visual learners, introvert learners more easily accept the material in a fun way

    Basically, the subject matter taught in schools, especially SMA PGRI Lahat Regency, in subjects is still minimal in enrichment material, especially in lessons at school. So that the results of renewable lecturers' research can be used as additional material through socialization with teachers and students. The theme of this activity is "socialization of the field trip method as a modern learning medium at SMA PGRI Labupaten Lahat". The resource persons for this activity were Erma Yulaini S.Pd., M.Si, Ana Theriana, M.Pd, Ida Suryani, M.Pd, Barkudin, M.Pd, Diana Widhi Rachmawati M.Pd, Imelda Ratih Ayu, M. Pd, Dana Luspa, M.Pd. the activity has been carried out for 2 days using 4-5 hours a day, continued tomorrow. The presenters will deliver the material for 5-10 minutes and after that a question and answer discussion is held with the PkM participants, with the aim that the participants, both teachers and students, can understand and know the content of the material presented, increase knowledge, and can also make additional material in the subject. The next activity is the provision of information and promotion of study programs at the University of PGRI Palembang, with the hope that PkM participants can know and understand academic and non-academic activities and invite them to join as part of the students of the University of PGRI Palembang.
