SOSIALISASI DAN PELATIHAN PIDATO BAHASA INGGRIS (SPEECH) BAGI SISWA SMA

This study is motivated by the numerous students who still struggle to use or apply the English language effectively, especially concerning techniques in English speech delivery. As part of language proficiency,speaking skills need to be actively developed. Field observations indicate that many students still lack optimal speaking abilities at the school level. Influencing factors include psychological barriers hindering students from speaking English, such as shame, fear of making mistakes, and low self-confidence. Another reason is the limited space for students to flourish despite the brevity of their learning sessions. Therefore, steps need to be taken to enhance students’ speaking skills beyond the core classroom hours. The community service activities have two main objectives. Firstly, to improve students’ English language proficiency through English language training, and secondly, to assists students in gaining more confidence in speaking English. Implementation methods for this community service include providing materials, training, and guidance. These activities are expected can enhance students’ motivation to improve their speaking ability particularly in English speech delivery.Studi ini dilatarbelakangi oleh banyaknya siswa yang masih belum mampu menggunakan atau menerapkan bahasa Inggris dengan baik khususnya terkait dengan teknik dalam berpidato Bahasa Inggris. Sebagai bagian dari kemahiran berbahasa, keterampilan berbicara harus dikembangkan secara aktif. Fakta di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa masih banyak siswa yang belum memiliki kemampuan berbicara yang maksimal di tingkat sekolah. Faktor yang mempengaruhi antara lain faktor psikologis yang menghambat siswa berbicara bahasa Inggris, seperti rasa malu, takut melakukan kesalahan, dan kurang percaya diri. Alasan lainnya adalah kurangnya ruang bagi siswa untuk berkembang meskipun pembelajarannya sangat singkat. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan langkah-langkah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa di luar jam pelajaran inti di kelas. Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini memiliki dua tujuan utama. Pertama, untuk meningkatkan kemahiran bahasa Inggris siswa melalui pelatihan bahasa Inggris, kedua, membantu siswa menjadi lebih percaya diri dalam berbicara bahasa Inggris. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini antara lain pemberian materi, pelatihan dan bimbingan. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan motivasi siswa untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara khususnya dalam berpidato dalam Bahasa Inggris

STRUKTURALISME DINAMIK DALAM NOVEL A STUDY IN SCARLET KARYA SIR ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE (SUATU KAJIAN KRITIK SASTRA)

Literary works are all types of compositions created based on human imagination or imagination and using language as the medium. A good literary work is a literary work that can present a social reality based on heuristic experience and can inspire its audience. A novel is a form of work that contains characters, a series of structured events and can be used as a life experience and provide education to its readers. There are many ways to analyze or study a novel, one of which is dynamic structuralism. This research examines the novel A Study in Scarlet by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle using a dynamic structuralism approach and descriptive qualitative research methods. The data collection techniques used by researchers are observation, reading and note-taking techniques. The data analysis techniques carried out by researchers include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Identifikasi Kecenderungan Persepsi Investasi sebagai Respon Isu Investasi Bodong Pada Mahasiswa di Universitas Islam Majapahit

Issues are the basis for forming perceptions because often the issues that develop influence a person's perception. The negative issue of fraud under the guise of investment will of course have a big influence on the formation of investment perceptions. Students are a group that easily accepts issues through intensive interaction with communication media so that students are a group that is quite dynamic in forming investment perceptions. This research aims to analyze students' gender tendencies in forming investment perceptions and to analyze the influence of negative issues about fraud under the guise of investment on the formation of investment perceptions. The research method used in this research was a survey method on 381 students in Malang City. The research was conducted when there were many negative issues surrounding fraud under the guise of investment in 2017. The results of the research showed that investment perception was still quite low, namely the average score was 5.58 or 55.8% of the maximum score. The average investment perception for women is higher than men, namely 5.7. Men's investment perception score is lower, namely 5.36, this shows that women are more interested in investing than men

KAJIAN UNSUR INTRINSIK DALAM NOVEL DEAR ALLAH KARYA DIANA FEBI (SUATU TINJAUAN STRUKTURAL SEMIOTIK)

Abstract This study aims to explain: (1) the intrinsic elements of the novel Dear Allah by Diana Febi, (2) the relationship between setting, plot, and characterizations tied to the theme in the novel Dear Allah, and (3) the form of the relationship between signs and references in the form of indexes, symbols, as well as icons in the novel Dear Allah. This research uses the content method with a qualitative description approach. The validity of the data is obtained through observation, perseverance and thoroughness of the reader in reading and understanding the contents of the novel, as well as the triangulation method. The results of the study explain that the novel Dear Allah has a forward plot with three stages, namely the first stage is an introduction, then the middle stage is the emergence of a conflict or problem, and the last stage is a resolution. The novel Dear Allah by Diana Febi ends with happiness for the main characters, namely Naira and Wildan. They both can finally live together happily and they are grateful to have been blessed with a child. The story of this novel is set in a mosque, room, Wildan's house, hospital, living room, operating room, and hall of the nursing center. All intrinsic elements are interrelated and tied to the theme. The form of the relationship between signs and references can be found in the novel Dear Allah in the form of icons, which consist of diagrammatic icons, topological icons, and metaphorical icons. Then, there are also indexes and symbols. Keywords: Novel, Intrinsic, Structural Semiotic.Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan: (1) unsur intrinsik novel Dear Allah karya Diana Febi, (2) hubungan latar, alur, dan penokohan yang diikat dengan tema dalam novel Dear Allah, dan (3) wujud hubungan antar tanda dengan acuan yang berupa indeks, simbol, serta ikon dalam novel Dear Allah. Penelitian menggunakan metode isi dengan pendekatan deskripsi kualitatif. Keabsahan data didapat melalui pengamatan, ketekunan, dan ketelitian  pembaca dalam membaca dan memahami isi novel, serta metode triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa novel Dear Allah memiliki alur maju dengan tiga tahapan yakni tahap pertama berupa pengenalan, kemudian tahap tengah berupa munculnya konflik atau masalah, dan tahan akhir yang berupa penyelesaian. Cerita novel Dear Allah karya Diana Febi berakhir dengan kebahagiaan bagi tokoh utama yaitu bernama Naira dan Wildan. Mereka berdua akhirnya dapat hidup bersama dengan bahagia dan mereka bersyukur karena telah dikaruniai seorang anak. Cerita novel ini berlatarkan tempat di masjid, kamar, rumah wildan, rumah sakit, ruang tamu, ruang operasi, dan aula pusat keperawatan. Semua unsur intrinsik saling berkaitan dan diikat dengan tema. Wujud hubungan antar tanda dengan acuan dapat dijumpai dalam novel Dear Allah yang berupa ikon, yaitu terdiri dari ikon diagramatik, ikon topologis, dan ikon metafora. ANALISIS IMLPIKATUR PERCAKAPAN PADA FILM ANTARES DALAM KAJIAN PRAGMATIK

In linguistics, the only aspect that discusses human language is called pragmatic studies. The meaning contained in an utterance in a pragmatic context is called implicature. Impilkature has become part of the conversational tools in communication. With this research, the author wants to know the implications of conversations in the film Antares. The author also uses a qualitative descriptive research method to determine the communication used in the film Antares. The results of the research show that conversational implicatures referring to Grice's theory can be applied in the use of implicatures in a film. The results of this research discuss the implications of general, specific and scaled conversations. Based on research findings, it can be concluded that implicatures often occur in the conversation process between speech partners and speakers, even if only in short sentences. Maksud yang terkandung di dalam suatu ujaran dalam konteks pragmatik disebut implikatur. Impilkatur telah menjadi bagian dari alat bantu percakan dalam berkomunikasi. Dengan adanya penelitian ini penulis ingin mengetahui implikatur percakapan pada film Antares. penulis juga menggunakan metode penelitian deskripsi kualitatif yang digunakan untuk mengetahui komunikasi yang digunakan dalam film Antares. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan implikatur percakapan yang mengacu pada teori Grice bisa diaplikasikan dalam penggunaan implikatur di dalam sebuah film. Adapun hasil penelitian ini membahas mengenai implikatru percakapan umum, khusus, dan berskala. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa implikatur sering terjadi dalam proses percakapan antara mitra tutur dan penutur walaupun hanya dengan kalimat singkat

Pengaruh Ice Breaking Terhadap Motivasi Belajar Siswwa SMP Terpadu Darul Dakwah

This research aims to determine the effect of icebreaking on student learning motivation at Terpadu Darul Dakwah Junior High School which will be carried out in the 2023/2024 academic year. Ice breaking is a straightforward, light and concise action that is able to change stiffness, determination, fatigue or lethargy in learning activities so that it can create a learning atmosphere that is full of energy and fun. The type of research used is quantitative. The population in this study was 200 students at Terpadu Darul Dakwah Junior High School with a sample of 62 students in grades 7, 8, 9. The instrument used in this research is a learning motivation number. Researchers also used data collection techniques using learning motivation questionnaires which were given to students in the form of questionnaires before and after icebreaking in learning to determine the effect of this activity on students' learning motivation. The results of the research show that the presence of icebreaking during classroom learning activities has an effect on students' learning motivation. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 200 siswa SMP Terpadu Darul Dakwah dengan sampel siswa kelas 7, 8, 9 sebanyak 62 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa angket motivasi belajar. Peneliti juga menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket motivasi belajar yang diberikan kepada siswa berupa angket sebelum dan sesudah diadakannya ice breaking dalam pembelajaran untuk mengetahui pengaruh adanya kegiatan tersebut terhadap motivasi belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan adanya ice breaking saat kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas berpengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar siswa

the PENGARUH MEDIA WAYANG KERTAS TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN MENCERITAKAN KEMBALI ISI CERITA FABEL SISWA KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 3 TEBING TINGGI TAHUN AJAR 2023/2024

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of paper puppet media on the skills of retelling the contents of fable stories of class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Tebing Tinggi for the 2023/2024 academic year.  The design of this research is a one group pretest-posttest experimental research design.  The research subjects were students in class VII-3 of SMP Negeri 3 Tebing Tinggi for the 2023/2024 academic year.  The data collection method uses an oral test.  The data for this research are test scores on the skill of retelling the contents of a fable story without and using paper puppets.  The results of this research are that the average score for the skill of retelling the content of a fable story using paper puppet media is in the good category, namely 72.96, while the average score for the skill of retelling the content of a fable story before using paper puppet media is in the fair category, namely 59.25.  Based on the results of hypothesis test calculations, the tcount is 2.58.  Next, it is compared with ttable with a significance level of ? = 0.05 with dk n-1= 27-1=26, obtained ttable which is 1.706.  So it can be concluded that tcount > ttable, namely 2.58>1.706.  This means that Ho is rejected, if Ho is rejected then Ha is accepted. This shows that there is a significant influence of the use of paper puppet media on the skills of retelling the content of fable stories of class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Tebing Tinggi for the 2023/2024 academic. Hasil penelitian ini adalah nilai rata-rata keterampilan menceritakan kembali isi cerita fabel menggunakan media wayang kertas tergolong pada kategori baik yaitu 72,96 sedangkan nilai rata-rata keterampilan menceritakan kembali isi cerita fabel sebelum menggunakan media wayang kertas tergolong kategori cukup yaitu 59,25. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji hipotesis, diperoleh thitung yaitu 2,58. Selanjutnya dibandingkan dengan ttabel dengan taraf signifikan ? = 0,05 dengan dk n-1= 27-1=26 diperoleh ttabel yaitu 1,706. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa thitung > ttabel, yaitu 2,58>1,706. Hal itu berarti Ho ditolak, dengan ditolaknya Ho maka Ha diterima, hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan penggunaan media wayang kertas terhadap keterampilan menceritakan kembali isi cerita fabel siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Tebing Tinggi Tahun Ajaran 2023/2024

ANALISIS STRUKTURAL C.LEVI STRAUSS PADA CERITA SASTRA LISAN JAWA TIMUR “BABAT ALAS GAYAM”

Oral literature is part of the ancestral heritage that has been passed down from generation to generation. Every region of Indonesia has oral literature with its own uniqueness which cannot be separated from the levels within it. This research reveals the structural level of East Javanese oral literature entitled Babat Alas Gayam using the theory of C. Levi Strauss. Data was obtained through interviews with sources. The data source in this study is the oral literary story Babat Alas Gayam. This study also uses listening and note-taking techniques. The data collection steps carried out by researchers are as follows. First, conduct interviews with sources. Second, transcribe the data. Third, find data. Fourth, summarize the data. Next, the following is the data analysis procedure carried out by the researcher. First, identify the data. Second, classify the data. Third, describe the data. Lastly, make a conclusion. This study produces information regarding the geographical, techno-economic, cosmological and sociological levels contained in the oral literature of Babat Alas Gayam.Sastra lisan merupakan bagian dari foklor warisan nenek moyang yang telah diturunkan secara turun-temurun. Setiap daerah Indonesia memiliki sastra lisan dengan keunikan masing-masing yang tidak terlepas dari tataran-tataran didalamnya. Penelitian ini mengungkapkan tataran struktural pada sastra lisan Jawa Timur yang berjudul Babat Alas Gayam menggunakan teori C.Levi Strauss. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan narasumber. Sumber data dalam kajian ini adalah cerita sastra lisan Babat Alas Gayam. Kajian ini juga menggunakan teknik simak dan catat. Langkah-langkah pengumpulan data yang dilakukan oleh peneliti adalah sebagai berikut. Pertama, melakukan wawancara dengan narasumber. Kedua, mentraskripsi data. Ketiga, menemukan data. Keempat, meringkas data. Selanjutnya, berikut merupakan prosedur analisis data yang dilakukan oleh peneliti. Pertama, mengidentifikasi data. Kedua, mengklasifikasikan data. Ketiga, mendeskripsikan data. Terakhir, membuat kesimpulan. Kajian ini menghasilkan informasi mengenai tataran geografis, tekno ekonomi, kosmologis, dan sosilogis yang terdapat dalam sastra lisan Babat Alas Gayam

Tingkeban is one of the traditions of the Javanese. This tradition has been passed down from generation to generation until now. The tingkeban ritual is carried out with the aim of being a means of praying so that the unborn baby in the womb is always given health. To support the problems in this research, the writers used semiotic theory. The theory is used discussed to find the meaning in which found in tingkepan ritual. Because this research studies the meaning of each procession carried out in Aurel Hermansyah's Tingkeban ritual and the data taken comes from the video of Aurel Hermansyah's Tingkeban ritual which is uploaded to the Atta Halilintar YouTube channel. ANALISIS FRAMING MENGENAI PENYEBAB KECELAKAAN KARNAVAL DI PACET MOJOKERTO PADA BERITA ONLINE MENGGUNAKAN MODEL ENTMAN DAN TEORI VAN DIJK

   Traffic accidents occur due to human factors that do not comply with established regulations. This results in losses for many people, namely traffic jams and loss of property. A carnival accident occurred in Pacet, Mojokerto, because the brakes failed on a tanker truck that was transporting water. This research aims to conduct a framing analysis of the reporting on the causes of the carnival accident in Pacet Mojokerto using the analytical framework. . The framing analysis method uses the Entman models with a qualitative descriptive approach used to determine problem definitions, causes of problems, moral evaluations, recommendations for solutions and through important elements. This research shows that the existence of online media, especially news, can influence people's views or opinions. This has a negative impact on the public's thoughts regarding the carnival accident in Pacet, Mojokerto. Hal itu menjadikan kerugian banyak orang yaitu adanya kemacetan dan kerugian harta benda. Terjadinya kecelakaan karnaval di Pacet Mojokerto karena rem blong pada truk tangki yang sedang mengangkuut air. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis framing terhadap pemberitaan penyebab kecelakaan karnaval di Pacet Mojokerto menggunakan kerangka analisis Entman. Berdasarkan  model tersebut yang  bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana perbedaan dan cara menggunakan kebahasaan yang mudah dimenngerti pada liputan6.com, detik com, jawa pos. Metode analisis framing menggunakan model entman dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif digunakan untuk memnentukan pendefinisian masalah, penyebab masalah, evaluasi moral, rekomendasi penyelesaian. Penelitian ini menunjkan bahwa adanya media onlne khususnya berita dapat mempengaruhi pandangan atau opini masarakat.
