    Measurement of xF3xF_3 and F2F_2 Structure Functions in Low Q2Q^2 Region with the IHEP-JINR Neutrino Detector

    The isoscalar structure functions xF3xF_3 and F2F_2 are measured as functions of xx averaged over all Q2Q^2 permissible for the range of 6 to 28 GeV of incident neutrino (anti-neutrino) energy at the IHEP-JINR Neutrino Detector. The QCD analysis of xF3xF_3 structure function provides ΛMSˉ(4)=(411±200)\Lambda_{\bar{MS}}^{(4)} = (411 \pm 200) MeV under the assumption of QCD validity in the region of low Q2Q^2. The corresponding value of the strong interaction constant αS(MZ)=0.1230.013+0.010\alpha_S (M_Z) = 0.123^{+0.010}_{-0.013} agrees with the recent result of the CCFR collaboration and with the combined LEP/SLC result.Comment: 11 pages, 1 Postscript figure, LaTeX.     Determination of the high-twist contribution to the structure function xF3νNxF^{\nu N}_3

    We extract the high-twist contribution to the neutrino-nucleon structure function xF3(ν+νˉ)NxF_3^{(\nu+\bar{\nu})N} from the analysis of the data collected by the IHEP-JINR Neutrino Detector in the runs with the focused neutrino beams at the IHEP 70 GeV proton synchrotron. The analysis is performed within the infrared renormalon (IRR) model of high twists in order to extract the normalization parameter of the model. From the NLO QCD fit to our data we obtained the value of the IRR model normalization parameter Λ32=0.69±0.37 (exp)±0.16 (theor) GeV2\Lambda^2_{3}=0.69\pm0.37~({\rm exp})\pm0.16~({\rm theor})~{\rm GeV}^2. We also obtained Λ32=0.36±0.22 (exp)±0.12 (theor) GeV2\Lambda^2_{3}=0.36\pm0.22~({\rm exp})\pm0.12~({\rm theor})~{\rm GeV}^2 from a similar fit to the CCFR data.     A comparison of the anxiolytic effect and tolerability of selank and phenazepam in the treatment of anxiety disorders

    Objective. To study the efficacy and tolerability of the new anxyolytic peptide selank in comparison with phenazepam.Material and methods. A comparative study of the anxiolytic effect and tolerability of selank and phenazepam was carried out in 60 patients with phobic-anxiety- and somatoform disorders (F40.2—9, F41.1—9, F45.0—1 by ICD-10) were examined.Results. Pronounced anxiolytic and mild nootropic effects of selank were demonstrated. The anxiolytic effect lasted for a week after last receiving the peptide. Selank had a positive impact on the quality of life of the patients.Conclusion.     Optimization of the treatment of anxiety disorders with selank

    Objective. To compare the efficacy and tolerability of monotherapy with phenazepam to complex treatment with the peptide preparation selank and phenazepam in patients with anxiety disorders. Material and methods. Authors explored the anxiolytic effect and tolerability of monotherapy with phenazepam (30 patients) and complex treatment with selank and phenazepam (40 patients) in anxiety-phobic, hypochondriac and somatoform disorders (ICD-10 items F40.2-9, F41.1-9, F45.0-2). Therapeutic effect was assessed clinically and with HDRS, CGI and Spilberger scales. Tolerability was evaluated using the UKU scale. Stroop test and verbal fluency test were used. Quality of life was assessed with the SF-36. Results. The positive effect of phenazepam was achieved earlier in the optimization of treatment with selank on HDRS. The combined treatment decreased the level of undesirable side-effects of phenazepam (attention and memory impairment, asthenia, sedation, increase in sleep duration, sexual disturbances, emotional indifference and orthostatism) during the course of treatment and after the tranquilizer withdrawal. Taken together, the therapeutic efficacy and reduction of side-effects had a positive impact on the quality-of-life of the patients treated with selank as add-on to phenazepam. Conclusion. The results extend therapeutic possibilities of treatment of anxietyspectrum disorders with the combination of benzodiazepine tranquilizers and selank. © 2015, Media Sphera. All rights reserved

    Ferromagnetic Layers in a Topological Insulator Bi,Sb 2Te3 Crystal Doped with Mn

    Magnetic topological insulators MTIs have recently become a subject of poignant interest; among them, Z2 topological insulators with magnetic moment ordering caused by embedded magnetic atoms attract special attention. In such systems, the case of magnetic anisotropy perpendicular to the surface that holds a topologically nontrivial surface state is the most intriguing one. Such materials demonstrate the quantum anomalous Hall effect, which manifests itself as chiral edge conduction channels that can be manipulated by switching the polarization of magnetic domains. In the present paper, we uncover the atomic structure of the bulk and the surface of Mn0.06Sb1.22Bi0.78Te3.06 in conjunction with its electronic and magnetic properties; this material is characterized by naturally formed ferromagnetic layers inside the insulating matrix, where the Fermi level is tuned to the bulk band gap. We found that in such mixed crystals septuple layers SLs of Mn Bi,Sb 2Te4 form structures that feature three SLs, each of which is separated by two or three Bi,Sb 2Te3 quintuple layers QLs ; such a structure possesses ferromagnetic properties. The surface obtained by cleavage includes terraces with different terminations. Manganese atoms preferentially occupy the central positions in the SLs and in a very small proportion can appear in the QLs, as indirectly indicated by a reshaped Dirac con
