    The Effect of Personality Characteristics of Students on Positive Perception Level: A Study to Hockey Super League Players

    The study was done in order to determine the effect of personality characteristics of students female athletes who participated in Hockey Super League competitions organized in Konya Province between the 15th and the 28th of April, 2018 upon their positive perception level. The study was consisted of 116 students female athletes who participated in hockey super league competitions (Average age= 18.21±2.98). In order to determine students athletes’ personality levels; “Eysenck Personality Inventory” designed by Francis et al. (1992) and “Positive Perception Scale” adapted by Akın and Kaya (2015) for the Turkish language were used. For the analyses of the data; histogram technique was employed in order to find whether or not data followed a normal distribution and as a result, it was identified that all sub-dimensions of mental endurance and positive perception scale followed a normal distribution. Accordingly, t test and One-Way-Anova tests were employed in order to explore basic differences and Canonical Correlation analyses were performed in order to find the effect between personality and positive perception levels. As a result; it was concluded that athletes demonstrated moderate level of personality and positive perception. It was seen that there was a moderate and significant correlation between sub-dimensions of Eysenck personality inventory and positive perception scale

    Mental Toughness of Students: Levels of Hockey Players Mental Toughness of the Athletes

    This study was carried out to determine the mental toughness levels of the female student athletes who participated in the hockey super league competitions held in Konya. The Study group consisted of a total of 122 female student athletes (age = 18.39 ± 2.88) who participated in hockey super league competitions. To determine the mental toughness levels of athletes, the Mental Toughness Inventory at Sports developed by Sheard et al. (2009) was used. Histogram technique was used to test whether the data showed normal distribution. And at the end of this, all sub-dimensions of mental resilience scale were found to have normal distribution. According to this, t test and One-Way Anova tests were used to determine the main differences and tukey test was used to find the difference between the two sets of variables. As a result; the athletes participating in the study were found to be strong and durable. It was concluded that there was a meaningful relationship between mental toughness levels and age and also difficulty in leisure time variables

    An Investigation of the Effectiveness of Doing Sports Situation, Gender and Age Variations in Sadness Management in Children

    This study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effect of doing sports, gender and age variables on sadness management of students. The universe of the research was 558 students (age average = 11,96 ± 1,29), including 308 female and 250 male students studying in the secondary school of in Karaman between 2017-2018 period. In addition to the personal information form prepared by the researcher as a data collection tool in the research, "Child Sadness Management Scale" developed by Zeman et al., adapted to the Turkish language by Akin et al. was used. MANOVA and ANOVA analysis were performed in the solution and interpretation of the data. At the end of the study; it can be said that the levels of Inhibition from the sadness management sub-dimensions of the participants are in the middle level, Emotion Regulation Coping levels are above the mid - level and Dysregulated-Expression levels are low. There was a significant difference between doing sports variable of the participants and the Inhibition dimension and between the gender variable and sub-dimension of the Dysregulated-Expression, but there was no significant difference between age variable and sub-dimensions of the sadness management

    The determining of psychological well-being levels of athletes playing in university teamsÜniversite takımlarında oynayan sporcuların psikolojik iyi oluş düzeylerinin belirlenmesi

    The aim of this project is to determine the psychological well-being of the students who play in Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University teams in the framework of sub-dimensions according to different variables. The universe of study consist of 214 athletes active in team sports at Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University in 2017-2018 academic year while the research group consists of 100 athletes. The data were collected using the personal information form prepared by the researcher and the Psychological Well-Being Scale. In the analysis of the data; frequency, Anova, Kruskal Wallis-H significance test and T-Test. As a result of the findings, according to sub-dimensions of psychological well-being; the difference in autonomy sub-dimension in terms of gender change was found statistically significant. There was no significant difference in age, department, family monthly income situation variables. As a result, participants' psychological well-being scores were found to be above average.  Extended English summary is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file.ÖzetBu çalışmanın amacı, Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey Üniversitesinde, üniversite takımlarında oynayan öğrencilerin psikolojik iyi oluş düzeylerini farklı değişkenlere göre tespit edebilmektir. Yapılan çalışmanın evrenini 2017-2018 akademik yılında Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey Üniversitesi’nin takım sporlarında aktif görev alan 214 sporcu oluştururken, örneklemi 100 sporcu oluşturmaktadır. Veriler araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan kişisel bilgi formu ve Psikolojik İyi Olma Ölçeği ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde; frekans, Anova, Kruskal Wallis-H anlamlılık testi ve T-Testi uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular neticesinde, psikolojik iyi oluşun alt boyutlarına göre; cinsiyet değişkeni açısından özerklik alt boyutunda fark istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunurken; yaş, bölüm, aile aylık gelir durumu değişkenlerinde anlamlı bir farklılığa rastlanmamıştır. Sonuç olarak, katılımcıların psikolojik iyi oluş puanlarının ortalamanın üstünde olduğu tespit edilmiştir

    “Konya İline Ait Bireysel ve Takım Sporu Antrenörlüğü Yapan Bireylerin Liderlik Tarzlarının Karşılaştırılması” isimli bu tez çalışmasının amacı bireysel sporlar ile takım sporu antrenörlerinin liderlik tarzlarını incelemektir. Çalışmanın ilk aşamasında liderin genel tanımı yapılarak liderin bazı özelliklerine yer verilmiştir. Bu bölümünde liderlik üzerine yazılmış literatür örneklerinden bilgiler toplanmış ve geçmişten günümüze kadar kullanılmış olan liderlik yaklaşımları belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Daha sonra liderlik yaklaşımlarına ve bu yaklaşımlarla ilgili yapılan araştırmalara yer verilmiştir. Modern liderlik teorileri kapsamında Paternalist, İşlemsel, Dönüştürücü ve Karizmatik liderlik teorileri incelenmiştir. Karizmatik liderlik kavramlarının tanımı ve önemi ile House ve Conger-Kanungo’nun karizmatik liderlik teorileri ele alınmıştır. Ayrıca bu bölümünde liderlikle ilgili fonksiyonlara yer verilmiştir. Tüm anlatılanlarla bağlantılı olarak sporda liderlik, sporda liderlik tipleri ve yaklaşımlarına yer verilerek spor ve liderlik arasındaki bağlılık sınıflandırmaları ve sonuçları incelenmiştir. Bu tez çalışmasının ikinci bölümünde ise antrenörlük kavramının tanımı, antrenörlük özellikleri, antrenörlerin yönetim şekli ve antrenörlükte başarının dört bileşeni ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın son bölümde ise araştırmada ileri sürülmüş olan hipotezleri test etmek amacıyla Konya ilinde yapılmış olan anket çalışmasıyla ilgili bulgulara yer verilmiştir. Antrenörlerin liderlik tarzlarını ölçmek üzere Davit R.Frew tarafından 1977 yılında geliştirilmiş liderlik tarzı anket formu kullanılmıştır. Antrenörlere yöneltilen anket soruları 5’li Likert ölçeğine göre hazırlanmıştır. Anket çalışmasıyla elde edilen bulgular SPSS 16.0 for Windows isimli istatistik paket programıyla analiz edilmiştir.The aim of this study named “The comparison of leadership styles of individual and team sport of trainers regarding Konya province” is to analyze the leadership styles of individual and team sport trainers. In the first step of the study, the general description of leader was defined and some peculiarities of the leader were made. In this step, some literature attainments written about leadership were gathered and leadership approaches used from past to present were tried to be determined. Then, leadership approaches and some researches related to these approaches were given place. Within the context of modern leadership theories; paternalist, operational, converter and charismatic leadership theories were analyzed. The definition of charismatic leadership concept, its importance and House, Conger-Kanungo charismatic leadership theories were handled. Besides, functions related to leadership were taken place in this part of the study. With the interconnection of all narratives leadership at sport, leadership types and approaches were given a place and the classification and results of consistency between sport and leadership were analyzed. In the second part of this study, the definition of trainer, the features of trainers, the management type of trainers and four components of success of trainers were undertaken. In the last part of this study findings related to questionnaire studies done in the city of Konya were given a place with the aim of testing the forwarded hypothesis. The leadership type survey form developed in 1977 by Davit R. Frew was used in observing leadership types of trainers.     Bu araştırma; beden eğitimi öğretmenlerinin problem çözme becerilerinin çeşitli değişkenlere göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığını ortaya koymak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırma modeli olarak nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden betimsel yöntem benimsenmiştir. Araştırma grubunu Konya il merkezinde görev yapan 86'sı kadın, 150'si erkek olmak üzere toplam 236 beden eğitimi öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak “Problem Çözme Envanteri” ve beden eğitimi öğretmenlerinin kişisel özelliklerini belirlemek için araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” kullanılmıştır. Ölçümlerin, Normal dağılıma uygun olup olmadığını belirlemek için tek örneklem Kolmogorov Smirnov Testi uygulanmış. Normal dağılımlar için T-Testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA), testi gruplar arası farkı belirleyebilmek için de Tukey Testi kullanılmıştır. Normal olmayan dağılımlar için Kruskal Wallis-H, Mann Whitney-U testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan öğretmenlerin orta seviyede problem çözme becerilerine sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Kişisel özelliklere göre gerek problem çözme becerisi bazı değişkenlere göre anlamlı farklılık bulunurken bazılarında ise anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamıştır.This study was done with the aim of setting forth whether physical education teachers problem solving skills differentiate due to different variables. Descriptive method, one of the quantitative research methods, was seized as research model. Research group consists of totally 236 physical education teachers, 86 women and 150 men, who work at Konya province center. “Problem Solving Inventory” was used for data gathering device and “Personal Information Form” was used for deciding personal characteristics of physical education teachers which was developed by researcher. The unique sample Kolmogorov Smirnov Test was used in order to determine whether measurings are suitable for normal dispersion. T-test and one way variance analysis test (ANOVA) were used for normal dispersions and Tukey Test was used for determine the differences between groups. Kruskal Wallis-H and Mann Whitney-U test were used for non-normal dispersions. It is determined that teachers, participated in the search, have mid-level problem solving skills. In terms of personality features, while there is a meaningful difference in problem solving skills, there isn't meaningful difference on some of them

    The positive emotions: Positive perception and social well-being levels of the university students

    <p>A positive perception situation positively increases the person's worthiness, self-confidence and perspective towards time. The current study determined the relationship between the positive perception and social well-being levels of students during the COVID-19 quarantine period. The study group consisted of 236 students, 110 females and 126 males (mean age=21.30±1.99). Positive perception scale and social well-being scale were used. Skewness kurtosis normality distribution test was used to determine whether the measurements are suitable for normal distribution. Skewness-kurtosis technique showed normal distribution in all dimensions according to the technique. In the analysis of the study data, Pearson product moment correlation analysis with descriptive statistics and multivariate analysis of variance or MANOVA analyzes scores were performed to determine the relationship between positive perception and social well-being. As a result, it is understood that students have over mid-level of positive perception and mid-level social well-being levels. According to the results of the correlation analysis, it was concluded that there was a positive and meaningful relationship between the social well-being and sub-dimensions of the positive perception scale. </p&gt

    Bu araştırmanın amacı; Milli Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı okullarda görev yapan öğretmenlerin öğretim yöntemlerinin araştırılması, eğitimde kullandıkları uygulama metotlarının analizi, öğrencileri derse güdüleme çalışmalarının incelenmesi ve duygudaşlık kurabilme becerilerinin tespitidir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma deseni kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu farklı branşlarda 18 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Toplanan veriler içerik analizi yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. İçerik analizi sonucunda, kodlar belirlenmiş ve bu kodlara uygun olarak temalar ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarında verilerin analizinden şu sonuçlara ulaşılmıştır: Araştırma sonucunda öğretmenlerin görüşlerine göre; nitelikli ve etkin öğretmen özelliklerinin başında teknolojiyi iyi kullanabilme gelmektedir. Aynı zamanda etkili öğretmenler, bilgiyi aktaran değil, bilgiye ulaşmada öğrencilere yol gösteren öğretmenlerdir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; öğretim uygulamalarında öğretmenlerin birden fazla duyu organına hitap etmelidir. Farklı materyalleri, etkinliklerinde kullanarak planlama yapılması öğretim sürecini daha kaliteli hale getirecektir. Bunların yanı sıra, nitelikli öğretmenler ödüllendirme sistemini iyi kullanan, iyi iletişim becerisine sahip ve sınıf içi öğretim uygulamalarında empati kurabilen eğitimciler olarak görülmektedir.The aim of this study is to investigate teaching effectiveness of teachers working in schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, to analyze the practice methods used in educational environments, to investigate efforts to motivate and encourage students and to determine the skills of establishing sympathy. Qualitative research methods are used in the research. Semi-structured interview questions were used as data collection tools. The study group of the study consists of 18 teachers in different branches. The collected data were analyzed by content analysis method. As a result of content analysis, the codes were determined and themes were developed in accordance with these codes. The findings of the study are included in these themes. Finally, the following results were obtained from the analysis of the data. In the results of the research, according to the teachers’ opinions teachers use of technology in an advanced level is the primary qualification for effective teachers. At the same time, effective teachers are the ones who guide the students in accessing the information, not the knowledge. Finally, qualified teachers are educators who use the reward system well, have good communication skills and empathize in classroom teaching practices

    The Mental Toughness Levels of Athletics Coaches in Terms of Some Variables

    The present study aims to examine the mental toughness levels of the coaches in terms of some variables who participated in the third (3rd) level athletics coaching course opened by the Turkish Athletics Federation at different times in 2021. The population of the research is 156 coaches who participated in athletics coaching courses, and a total of 141 of them are 85 men and 56 women (Age Average= 27.00±5.00). With the personal information questionnaire developed by the researcher, "Sport Mental Toughness Questionnaire-SMTQ-14" which was developed by Sheard et al. (2009) was applied. The skewness-kurtosis normality distribution test was used to determine whether the measurements were suitable for the normal distribution. According to the Skewness-Kurtosis technique, the mental toughness scale showed normal distribution for its total and sub-dimensions. According to the results of the research, it can be said that the total and sub-dimension levels of the participants' mental toughness scale are moderate. While there was no significant difference in terms of age and working time of the participants participating in the research, a statistically significant difference was found in terms of gender, place of residence, doing sport and duration of doing sports
