This study attempts to examine and analyze the effects of transactional leadership on turnover intention of PT. Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk. (Minimarket Alfamart) employees in East Surabaya region by using job involvement, work motivation, and job satisfaction as mediating variables. The findings of this study show that transactional leadership, work motivation, and job satisfaction do affect turnover intention of the employees yet job involvement does not affect turnover intention of the employees. The objective of this study is to provide new insights for modern market businessperson (retailers) to continue evaluating his/her employee behavior variable that correlates with the number of employees working in the business. Therefore, the number of employees hired and resigned from the company will not disrupt the business carried out by the company. A Duoethnographic Exploration of Persistent Technological Failures in Synchronous Online Education

While higher education becomes increasingly reliant upon technology to deliver instruction, technological failures profoundly affect faculty members and students. We used duoethnography to explore the student-instructor dynamic during persistent technological failures within a synchronous online course, which occurred during a semester-long, qualitative research methods course. Duoethnography allowed us to first explore our own experiences and then engage in a continuous dialogue to interrogate the same event without privileging one voice over the other. We provide a series of dialogues of our shared understandings and different perspectives, taken from discussions and reflections on the experience. We then provide deeply personal insight into how faculty members and students may be affected by technological failures in distance education

Purpose Because of limitations to the purpose and practice of both phenomenological and duoethnographic research methodologies, our purpose in this paper was to propose phenomenological polyethnography as a hybrid qualitative methodology, which would guide skilled researchers in conducting phenomenological exploration of an emergent experience as insiders. Design/methodology/approach A hybridization approach to phenomenology and duoethnography as two distinct qualitative research traditions. Findings Employing a poststructuralist perspective, researcher-participants with relevant difference co-investigate a phenomenological question together. Borrowing elements from both hermeneutic phenomenology and duoethnography, this methodology involves the consideration of a phenomenon, the use of authors with relevant difference who have both special insight into that phenomenon as participants and skill as qualitative researchers, the intentional collection of prereflective data while all researcher-participants are experiencing the phenomenon or immediately after, the subsequent reflection upon and interpretation of the phenomenon as it was similarly and differently experienced by the researcher-participants, and the description of both the essence and meaning of the phenomenon. Research limitations/implications This new, hybrid qualitative methodology will enable researchers to more efficiently analyze and disseminate the research of insider knowledge on emergent phenomena in higher education and other settings. Originality/value As a new methodology, it may be used to investigate events and provide rich, thick description in a way not before seen

Dynamic stability and noise margins of SRAM arrays in nanoscaled technologies

    Get PDF
SRAM stability is one of the primary bottlenecks of current VLSI system design, and the unequivocal supply voltage scaling limiter. Static noise margin metrics have long been the de-facto standard for measuring this stability and estimating the yield of SRAM arrays. However, in modern process technologies, under scaled supply voltages and increased process variations, these traditional metrics are no longer sufficient. Recent research has analyzed the dynamic behavior and stability of SRAM circuits, leading to dynamic stability metrics and dynamic noise margin definition. This paper provides a brief overview of the limitations of static noise margin metrics and the resulting dynamic stability and noise margin concepts that have been proposed to overcome them

Managing human resource is part of one’s leadership design, therefore a leader plays an important role in leading his/her subordinates. There is not the best leadership style out of many types of leadership design, but the leadership design will be matched to the existing environment. All leadership designs will be led to company’s goal that has been established in which it is suitable with the company’s vision and mission. The company as the gathering place for one’s many characteristics will be in trouble if it doesn’t have a behavior guidance for everyone who gets involved in managing the organization. One’s behavior will be effected by stimulus occuring in one’s environment. The leader’s job is to establish the behavior  guidance for all of the employees in the company, the behavior guidance mentioned is the organizational culture. Two very important things that must be paid attention seriously in leading employees’ behavior are Leadership Design and Organizational Culture as behavior guidance for all members in the organization
