    Determinants of Short-term Liabilities of Financially Distressed SME-s

    The article studies the determinants of short-term liabilities of financially distressed small and medium-sized enterprises in Bulgaria. The research is based on data from the financial statements of one hundred non-financial enterprises in different industries in the period from 2014 to 2016, provided by the National Statistical Institute. A company is defined as financially distressed if it cannot cover its short-term liabilities with its operating cash flow. By employing multiple regression analysis, we design a model, which shows the positive impact of the levels of net sales revenue, inventory, receivables from customers and suppliers and financial assets, and the negative impact of the ratio of current assets to total assets on the short-term debt of financially distressed SME-s

    Survey of the Attitudes of Nursing Undergraduate Students towards Work with Children with Disabilities and Their Families

    Introduction: The attitude to people with disabilities is the most crucial criterion for the maturity of a society. The development and implementation of policy on early childhood are a part of the values and policies of all EU countries, including Bulgaria, which necessitates the introduction of an integrated approach of institutions and society, as well as services based on intercector cooperation .The aim of the present survey is to study the attitudes and needs of nursing undergraduate students to provide integrated health and social services for children with disabilities and their families, as well as their inclusion in follow-up education and specialisation in the field of integrated care.Material and methods: the opinion of 150 undergraduate students of nursing at Varna Medical University and Veliko Tarnovo, Sumen and Sliven subsidiaries was polled July-September, 2020.Methods of the survey – an inquiry method, a statistical method for processing and analysis of information.Results and discussion: a considerable share of the future nurses say that they received information on the types of integrated health and social services over the course of their studies (96%). In terms of the nurse’s role in providing them, according to 62% of the students, her inclusion in the team would improve the quality of child care. Only one-third of the respondents say that they are ready to work in the field of integrated care (35.3%). More than half (59.3%) would like to participate in courses for follow-up education of specialists involved in the care of children with disabilities and their families.Conclusions: The results of the survey suggest that the students realise the need to include the nurse in the team for providing integrated care of children with disabilities and are aware of the need to to be included in the various forms of follow-up education, intended to improve the quality of the care provided

    Survey of attitudes of nurse and midwife university students for provision of health and social services for children and families

    The chances for human health are closely related to the conditions under which they are born and they live. The deinstitutionalization of children up to 18 years includes activities for providing community living for every child by establishing a system of services and measures ensuring the prevention of abandonment.Aim: The aim of this study is to identify the factors influencing career choices and the willingness of nurses and midwives to provide health and social services for prevention of abandonment of children, supporting families of children with medical risk in the family environment.Material and Methods: For the purpose of this study we examined the opinion of 40 nurse and midwife university students enrolled for the school year 2015/2016 in the branch campus - Veliko Tarnovo, with mean age of 28.7 years. Documentary method, a 9-item questionnaire and graphical analysis are used.Results and discussion: The data from this survey shows that 37.7% of respondents chose this profession because they would have a successful future realization. The choice of profession of all of the nurses is the first desire and less than half (40%) of midwives have made their first career choice. Sixty percent of all students say they would work with children with disabilities, 63% of them are partly familiar with the problems of families who raise children with disabilities.Conclusions: Based on the motivated professional choice and the positive attitude of students to the problems of children at risk and in implementation of the strategic documents, it is necessary to update the programme of studies in clinical practice and to introduce an optional subject `Early childhood intervention` in the programme of studies

    Integrated Health And Social Services For Chilren With Disabilities: A Challenge For The Nurse

    One of the most crucial criteria for the mechanism and maturity of society is its attitude to children and adults with disabilities. The development and implementation of the policies on early childhood are part of the values and policies of all EU countries, including Bulgaria.The aim of the present study is to research and analyse the nurse’s role in the multidisciplinary team in providing integrated health and social services to children with disabilities, as well as in providing professional assistance in a domestic environment.Materials and methods: the opinions of sixty three specialists working in seven social services for children with disabilities in Veliko Turnovo and Svishtov municipalities, and twenty five parents of children with disabilities were polled. Sociological, documentary and statistical methods were used, as well as graphical analysis. The inquiry card has nineteen questions. The questionnaire for parents includes seven open questions.Results and discussion: the data of the poll suggest that 94% of the specialists consider the inclusion of the nurse in the multidisciplinary team to be a guarantee of the service quality. The respondents expect the nurse to have above all skills for teamwork, flexibility, and an aptitude for working with children with disabilities (81%), to be familiar with the specific nature of social work (55%), to train parents and provide mobile services (56%). More than half of the parents want to get professional assistance in a domestic environment.Conclusion: the integrated services for children with disabilities are of great significance for the child, the family and the community. They help children achieve better results, defend human rights, support the families. Joining the forces of all institutions of the health and social area is a major factor in the success and development of integrated health and social services

The program provided a policy and strategy framework in the prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases in children. It was implemented through health promotion activities, disease prevention and lifestyle changes involving children and their families.The aim of this study is to highlight the role of health professionals from child and school health care in providing information, education, and health consultation services to the students about building up vital skills for responsible health behavior.Materials and Methods: For the purpose of this study the opinion of 46 health professionals from the municipality of Veliko Turnovo at an average age of 48.7 years was sought. We have used a documentary method, a questionnaire survey of 8 questions and a graphical analysis.Results and Discussion: The data from the comparative analysis of the survey results for carrier of the main risk factors for the health of the students aged from 14 to 18 years in Veliko Tarnovo showed that there have been positive changes in health behaviors, but at the same time serious problems such as high blood pressure and overweight were reported.Conclusions: The successful implementation of the program β€žHealthy Children in Healthy Families` with the participation of health professionals from children and school health care, supported by public structures and organizations, proved that reducing the level of health risk factors among students would also reduce the risk of developing chronic non-communicable diseases among adults

Incorret diet destroys children and causes various diseases. "Health comes through the mouth" - that means as you usually eat, so our body to function and so will place our metabolism.
