Analysis of full-QCD and quenched-QCD lattice propagators

Recent lattice-QCD results for the dressed-gluon propagator are used within the quark Dyson-Schwinger equation to determine the gluon-quark vertex dressing necessary to reproduce the lattice-QCD results for the dressed-quark propagator. Both quenched and full QCD lattice simulations, for a range of low quark current masses, are analyzed. The chiral extrapolation is made through this continuum DSE form. A semi-empirical Hamiltonian for boron, phosphorus and compounds containing boron, phosphorus and silicon.

In this work, a 25 parameter semi-empirical Hamiltonian for boron and phosphorus is developed. The Hamiltonian contains both environment-dependent terms and electron-correlation terms with the on-site charge calculated self-consistently. One of the goals of this work is to obtain the parameterized Hamiltonian for boron and phosphorus by fitting the properties of small boron and phosphorus clusters and the bulk phases, as obtained by our method, to ab-initio calculations. The general structure of this Hamiltonian and all phenomenological functions contained within have been successful in predicting the properties of intermediate silicon clusters as well as extended structures of silicon with great precision. Evaluasi Special Event Surabaya Fashion Parade 2012 Yang Diselenggarakan Oleh Tunjungan Plaza Surabaya

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui evaluasi special event Surabaya Fashion Parade 2012 yang diselenggarakan oleh Tunjungan Plaza Surabaya. Special event ini sudah diselenggarakan lima kali tetapi belum pernah dilakukan evaluasi. Jumlah peserta yang mengikuti kompetisi dalam special event ini tampak tidak konsisten. Evaluasi dilihat dari efek proses komunikasi yang terjadi antara panitia penyelenggara event dengan peserta kompetisi dalam event tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode studi kasus dan menggunakan teknik wawancara. Peneliti menemukan bahwa proses komunikasi antara panitia penyelenggara dengan peserta kompetisi dari mulai pra-event, saat pelaksanaan event hingga event berakhir telah berjalan dengan cukup lancar. Namun masih ada beberapa hal detail yang kurang diperhatikan oleh panitia

Facilitating Wiki/Repository Communication with Metadata

This paper describes how we are enabling two-way communication between a digital repository and open-source collaborative tools, such as wikis, to support users in materials research and education in the creation and re-use of compelling learning resources. A search results plug-in for MediaWiki has been developed to display relevant search results from the Fedora-based MatDL repository in the Soft Matter Wiki established and developed by MatDL and its partners. Wiki-to-repository information transfer has also been facilitated by mapping the metadata associated with resources originating in the wiki onto Dublin Core (DC) metadata elements and making the metadata and resources available in the repository.The Materials Digital Library Pathway (DUE-0532831) is supported by the National Science Foundation

Quark-gluon vertex model and lattice-QCD data

A model for the dressed quark-gluon vertex, at zero gluon momentum, is formed from a nonperturbative extension of the two Feynman diagrams that contribute at 1-loop in perturbation theory. The required input is an existing ladder-rainbow model Bethe-Salpeter kernel from an approach based on the Dyson-Schwinger equations; no new parameters are introduced. The model includes an Ansatz for the triple-gluon vertex. Two of the three vertex amplitudes from the model provide a point-wise description of the recent quenched lattice-QCD data. An estimate of the effects of quenching is made.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure

Factors Affecting Food Choices of Men in Production Agriculture in Kansas

With 86% of American farms individually or family operated, farmers\u27 health becomes imperative to sustaining profitability. This research collected data on food choices of farmers in Kansas to determine potential gaps in nutrition knowledge that could be addressed by Cooperative Extension programs. Participants (N=147) attended nine K-State Research and Extension Agricultural Profitability Conferences in November 2001, completing the Block Brief Questionnaire and eating behavior and demographic questions. Results indicated subjects were overweight and food choices did not meet dietary guidelines. Cooperative Extension should capitalize on its extensive history with this population to provide one-on-one nutrition education materials targeting producer diets

Determination of [S,S′]-Ethylenediaminedisuccinic Acid by High-Performance Liquid Chromatography

A new high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for the determination of ethylenediaminedisuccinic acid (EDDS) is presented. Free EDDS4- and EDDS complexes with divalent metals undergo conversion to the Fe(III) complex in the presence of Fe(III)Cl3. Fe(III)EDDS is separated by HPLC on an ion exchange column using (NH4)2SO4 eluent with detection at 258 nm. The detection limit is 0.01µM. The method is applied to natural waters and soil solution samples. A background of natural water results in a reduction in EDDS peak area. The method is suited for EDDS analysis in samples with well-defined, simple matrices such as those used in laboratory experiments or biodegradation studie
