PELANGGARAN PRINSIP KERJA SAMA DALAM ANIME HORIMIYA
The principle of cooperation is a set of rules or principles used in communication to achieve effective understanding between speakers and listeners. In the principle of cooperation, there are four maxims that must be obeyed, namely the maxim of quantity, the maxim of quality, the maxim of relevance, and the maxim of manner. This research aims to find out what types of cooperation principles are violated and what conversational strategies are used when violations occur. This research uses descriptive qualitative method because the data used is linguistic data in the form of words. Data source obtained from an anime titled Horimiya, produced in 2021. The data collection in the study used the free listening method with the advanced technique of note-taking technique. Data analysis was conducted using Grice\u27s (1975) theory of cooperation principles, and Dell Hymes\u27 (1974) Speaking for conversational strategies. Based on the results of the study, there were 57 data of violation of the principle of cooperation. Violation of the maxim of relevance is the most common violation with 24 data, meanwhile, the least violations are maxim of manner and maxim of quantity with 7 data each. Followed by the maxim of quality with 19 data. The most widely used conversational strategies in the violation of the principle of cooperation are in the components of S(etting), P(articipants), E(nd), K(ey)
The Couple's Advantage: A Case Study of When to Start Collecting Social Security
Deciding when to collect social security benefits is a difficult decision, but particularly so for couples. Without being able to analyze the full spectrum of options, couples could be missing out on potential income. In addition, many of these couples are stuck trying to figure out what to do if there is only one earner in the household. This paper focuses on the difference between a single earner and that earner with a spouse that is not otherwise qualified to collect. It delivers real world solutions by using sensitivity analysis for the interest rates, age at death, and gender. Additional analyses focused on the particular life expectancies predicted on the social security web site. Thus, rather than matrices of strategies for different combinations of ages at death, it is possible to identify the best strategies and the NPV differences for the “average” case. This paper explains the strategies and outcomes for calculating the couple’s advantage over the individual earner as well as an in-depth analysis of benefits for a class of couples. The case results in a 384,989 increase in retirement income for couples over singles. This large increase in annual income can single handedly be attributed to both spousal and survivor benefits that couplesreceive but singles do not. Due to the complexity and many details of the couple’s rules, this analysis is presented as a solution to the case rather than as a set of possible case options.Abstract / Contents / Table of Exhibits / Acknowledgement / Introduction / Literature Review / Determining Benefits / Earner's Retirement Benefit / Spousal Benefit / Survivor Benefit / Net Present Value of Benefits for Couples with a Single Earner / The Couple's Advantage / Conclusion / References / Bibliograph
Process mineralogical characterisation of the Kansanshi copper ore, NW Zambia
Kansanshi mine is the largest copper producer in Africa. The deposit is mineralogically and texturally complex due to supergene enrichment resulting in the presence of a variety of primary and secondary copper minerals. This necessitates the processing of ore through three separate circuits: sulphide flotation, mixed flotation and oxide leach, followed by solvent extraction and electro-winning. This study revisits the process mineralogy of the ore using modern mineralogy tools, which for such a large and complex deposit cannot but deliver significant value. Specific focus is given to copper mineralisation and the flotation of the sulphide ores in compliment to another MSc study from the Centre for Minerals Research focusing on mixed ore flotation (Kalichini, 2015). A series of hand samples and grab samples representing the variation in mineralogy and texture of the Kansanshi ore, as well as two run of mine sulphide ore flotation feed samples were used for this investigation. Process mineralogical characterisation entailed optical microscopy, XRF, QXRD, QEMSCAN and EPMA investigations, alongside a series of laboratory scale batch flotation tests of two sulphide ores at two grinds (80% passing 150 μm, 80% passing 212 μm). Copper mineralisation at Kansanshi occurs as both vein-hosted mineralisation, and to a lesser extent sediment-hosted mineralisation. Later breccia-hosted and supergene mineralisation have overprinted all previous mineralisation styles. Chalcopyrite is the main ore mineral for both vein-hosted and sediment-hosted mineralisation styles
The Executory Authority of Constitutional Court Decisions in the 2024 Local Head Election
Indonesia views Local Head Elections as a vital expression of people's sovereignty in its democratic system. The Constitutional Court ensures the fairness of democracy through rulings on these elections. This study examines the executory authority of the Constitutional Court's decisions regarding Local Head Elections in 2024, focusing on Decisions No. 60/PUU-XXII/2024, 70/PUU-XXII/2024, and 126/PUU-XXII/2024. Using a normative legal approach, the research analyzes laws and concepts related to these elections, with data qualitatively analyzed and presented narratively. The findings highlight that the Constitutional Court’s final and binding decisions enhance legal certainty and improve the electoral system, thereby strengthening Indonesia’s democracy. These rulings take immediate effect without requiring an executive body and must be respected by all state institutions, reflecting the principle of checks and balances in governance. Effective implementation requires cooperation among state institutions, with the legislative and executive branches expected to follow up on the rulings through lawmaking. The General Election Commission plays a critical role in organizing elections based on these laws. As a rule-of-law state, adherence to the law by all institutions is essential to achieving a just and improved democratic system
Accelerate Ethnic Studies With “All Deliberate Speed!”
America is known as the Land of Opportunity, yet one may ask, “Opportunity for whom?” Black/African American, Hispanic/Chicano/a/x/ Latino/a/x, Native American/American Indian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander along with other traditionally and historically underrepresented groups have experienced being marginalized in the United States as well as the school systems within our society. Since the inception of the concept of schooling in the United States, public education has had a minimal acknowledgment of historically and traditionally marginalized groups as contributors to the cultivation and development of the United States. It’s beyond time to redesign our educational system to reflect a system that will contribute to a true and sustainable democracy. This will require social justice educators with the capacity to teach our youth the complete truth of their cultural and ethnic imprint within the history and fabric of our country
Sex Matters The Impact of Skin Tone on Perceived Levels of Attraction
Research finds that individuals of dark complexions are more likely to face prejudice or be discriminated against in a variety of contexts. Referred to as colorism, skin-tone-based discrimination has major implications for various life outcomes. Research on social interactions suggests that lighter skin tones are associated with a higher level of physical attractiveness, which is of particular interest for this study. This study uses quantitative survey data collected from undergraduate and graduate students from across the United States to explore the relationship between colorism, gender, and perceived physical attraction via a modified version of Harvey, Tennial, and Bank’s In-Group Colorism Scale (ICS). Analyses measured the relationship between a participant’s own skin tone, which was self-assessed via comparison to images modeled after make-up swatches, and results on a subscale of the ICS which measures attraction to lighter skin tones. Our results suggest that gender has a significant impact on perceived physical attractiveness, with male-identifying participants placing more weight on the significance of skin tone when determining physical attraction. Implications for future research and translational implications are also discussed
The Implications of Intellectual Property as Objects of Fiduciary Guarantee for Creative Economy Entrepreneurs
Intellectual Property (IP) as objects of fiduciary security has not been implemented optimally in financing institutions in practice. In banking practices, the use of IP will cause problems when defaults occur or many debtors are unable to meet the legal obligation of debt repayment. The legal problems that occur related to intellectual property issues as fiduciary security are an obstacle and challenge that the government needs to fix in strengthening the rules that form the basis of intellectual property as an object of fiduciary security, especially for creative economy actors. This study aims to analyze the legal standing of IP as objects of fiduciary security in financing institutions and to analyze the application of IP to the banking sector to creative economic actors in obtaining credit. The research method that is used in this research is a normative juridical method. The research shows that the regulation regarding IP as fiduciary security is regulated by Article 16 (3) of Act No. 28 of 2014 on Copyright and Article 108 (3) of Act No. 13 of 2016 on Patents. A copyright must be registered first at the Directorate General of Intellectual Property if it is to be used as a fiduciary security because without registration there will be no fiduciary security. With the existence of IP as a fiduciary security, banking institutions with the government need to make improvements and policy breakthroughs to the laws and regulations that are adjusted to the implementing regulations related to the implementation of the imposition of IP objects as fiduciary security
Amplifying Academic Research through YouTube: Engagement Metrics as Predictors of Citation Impact
This study explores the interplay between YouTube engagement metrics and the
academic impact of cited publications within video descriptions, amid declining
trust in traditional journalism and increased reliance on social media for
information. By analyzing data from Altmetric.com and YouTube's API, it
assesses how YouTube video features relate to citation impact. Initial results
suggest that videos citing scientific publications and garnering high
engagement-likes, comments, and references to other publications-may function
as a filtering mechanism or even as a predictor of impactful research.Comment: Accepted at 16th ACM Web Science Conference (Websci Companion'24
