This study aims to determine the application of the technology in the Gapoktan Purwadiwangsa, Knowing whether a business carried on by farmers earn a minimum profit and whether there is a relationship between the level of technology adoption by farmers income Gapoktan Purwadiwangsa. The benefit of this research as a recommendation for farmers and local governments to develop a farm laying ducks in Tegal. The method used in this study is a survey method. Methods to determine respondents conducted by random. Methods of data collection are observation and interview methods directly to the farmers. Primary data were obtained from field observations. Secondary data were obtained from the books of the department of Animal Husbandry and from a variety of sources of Gapoktan. Data analysis using SPSS 17 to test One sample t-test to compare the UMR pendapatn Tegal breeders as well as with multiple regression to analyze the relationship between income level of technology implementation. The results demonstrate the applicability of the technology in the majority of farmers do Gapoktan purwadiwangsa well the application of technology, the amount of income breeders Tegal more than minimum wage is Rp. 975.000.00, simultaneously affect the application of technology (seeds, cages, feed, animal health, and post-harvest) on revenue (Sig <0.05), while only partially seeds and post-harvest only the effect on earnings

The objectivity of this research is to determine media that effective to studying in biochemistry practical work to improve student achievement. The sample of this research is all students of biochemistry practical work at odd semester in 2003/2004 in Chemistry Department in Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, at Yogyakarta State University. The student's number was 28 people. The research was carried out using 3 media, i.e. Over Head Transparent presented by Over Head projector (OHP) at carbohydrate topic; Power Point presented by LCD projector at protein topic, and Audio-Visual presented by LCD projector at enzyme topic. The instruments of this research are observation sheet, pre-test and post-test, and evaluation questionnaire. The increase of post-test to pre-test was evaluated using t-test. The analyzed of observation data was carried out by qualitative descriptive using calculation percentage continued by qualitative analyzed. The mean of observation data was analyzed by ANAVA-A test followed by LSDT test. The data of evaluation questionnaire was calculated as percentage of student choice at this questionnaire. The result of observation data showed that there was the increasing in practical work skilled using OHT, Power Point, and Audio Visual media. There were 18.16 (very low), 36.39 (medium); and 49.31 (very high) respectively. The ANAVA-A test and LSDT indicated that there was significant difference between three score of the practical work skilled with three different media at three topics. The result of pre-test and post-test showed that there was the increasing score for all topics. The great increasing was enzyme topic when using Audio-visual media. The t-test indicated that there was the differentia of the increase score at three topics. The evaluation questionnaire showed that Audio-Visual media presented by LCD was effectiv

Polarization selection rules for inter-Landau level transitions in epitaxial graphene revealed by infrared optical Hall effect

We report on polarization selection rules of inter-Landau level transitions using reflection-type optical Hall effect measurements from 600 to 4000 cm-1 on epitaxial graphene grown by thermal decomposition of silicon carbide. We observe symmetric and anti-symmetric signatures in our data due to polarization preserving and polarization mixing inter-Landau level transitions, respectively. From field-dependent measurements we identify that transitions in decoupled graphene mono-layers are governed by polarization mixing selection rules, whereas transitions in coupled graphene mono-layers are governed by polarization preserving selection rules. The selection rules may find explanation by different coupling mechanisms of inter-Landau level transitions with free charge carrier magneto-optic plasma oscillations

AIM: Can gene expression profiling be used to identify patients with T1-T2 melanoma at low risk for sentinel lymph node (SLN) positivity? PATIENTS & METHODS: Bioinformatics modeling determined a population in which a 31-gene expression profile test predicted \u3c5% SLN positivity. Multicenter, prospectively-tested (n = 1421) and retrospective (n = 690) cohorts were used for validation and outcomes, respectively. RESULTS: Patients 55-64 years and ≥65 years with a class 1A (low-risk) profile had SLN positivity rates of 4.9% and 1.6%. Class 2B (high-risk) patients had SLN positivity rates of 30.8% and 11.9%. Melanoma-specific survival was 99.3% for patients ≥55 years with class 1A, T1-T2 tumors and 55.0% for class 2B, SLN-positive, T1-T2 tumors. CONCLUSION: The 31-gene expression profile test identifies patients who could potentially avoid SLN biopsy
