    Global analysis by hidden symmetry

    Hidden symmetry of a G'-space X is defined by an extension of the G'-action on X to that of a group G containing G' as a subgroup. In this setting, we study the relationship between the three objects: (A) global analysis on X by using representations of G (hidden symmetry); (B) global analysis on X by using representations of G'; (C) branching laws of representations of G when restricted to the subgroup G'. We explain a trick which transfers results for finite-dimensional representations in the compact setting to those for infinite-dimensional representations in the noncompact setting when XCX_C is GCG_C-spherical.     Co-NMR Knight Shift of NaxCoO2 \dot yH2O Studied in Both Superconducting Regions of the Tc-nuQ3 Phase Diagram Divided by the Nonsuperconducting Phase

    In the temperature (T)-nuQ3 phase diagram of NaxCoO2 \dot yH2O, there exist two superconducting regions of nuQ3 separated by the nonsuperconducting region, where nuQ3 is usually estimated from the peak position of the 59Co-NQR spectra of the 5/2-7/2 transition and well-approximated here as nuQ3~3nuQ,nuQ being the interaction energy between the nuclear quadrupole moment and the electric field gradient. We have carried out measurements of the 59Co-NMR Knight shift (K) for a single crystal in the higher-nuQ3 superconducting phase and found that K begins to decrease with decreasing T at Tc for both magnetic field directions parallel and perpendicular to CoO2-planes. The result indicates together with the previous ones that the superconducting pairs are in the spin-singlet state in both phases, excluding the possibility of the spin-triplet superconductivity in this phase diagram. The superconductivity of this system spreads over the wide nuQ3 regions, but is suppressed in the narrow region located at the middle point of the region possibly due to charge instability.Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures, submitted to J.     High-tip-speed, low-loading transonic fan stage. Part 3: Final report

    Tests were conducted on a high-tip-speed, low-loading transonic fan stage to determine the performance and inlet flow distortion tolerance of the design. The fan was designed for high efficiency at a moderate pressure ratio by designing the hub section to operate at minimum loss when the tip operates with an oblique shock. The design objective was an efficiency of 86 percent at a pressure ratio of 1.5, a specific flow (flow per unit annulus area) of 42 lb/sec-sq. ft (205.1 kgm/sec-m sq), and a tip speed of 1600 ft/sec (488.6 m/sec). During testing, a peak efficiency of 84 percent was achieved at design speed and design specific flow. At the design speed and pressure ratio, the flow was 4 percent greater than design, efficiency was 81 percent, and a stall margin of 24 percent was obtained. The stall line was improved with hub radial distortion but was reduced when the stage was tested with tip radial and circumferential flow distortions.     A hidden symmetry of a branching law

    We consider branching laws for the restriction of some irreducible unitary representations Π\Pi of G=O(p,q)G=O(p,q) to its subgroup H=O(p1,q)H=O(p-1,q). In Kobayashi (arXiv:1907.07994), the irreducible subrepresentations of O(p1,q)O(p-1,q) in the restriction of the unitary ΠO(p1,q)\Pi|_{O(p-1,q) } are determined. By considering the restriction of packets of irreducible representations we obtain another very simple branching law, which was conjectured in Orsted-Speh (arXiv:1907.07544).Comment: 16 page

    CP violation in supersymmetric model with non-degenerate A-terms

    We study the CP phases of the soft supersymmetry breaking terms in string-inspired models with non-universal trilinear couplings. We show that such non-universality plays an important role on all CP violating processes. In particular these new supersymmetric sources of CP violation may significantly contribute to the observed CP phenomena in kaon physics while respecting the severe bound on the electric dipole moment of the neutron.Comment: 14 pages, Late

    A Detailed Study of the Gluino Decay into the Third Generation Squarks at the CERN LHC

    In supersymmetric models a gluino can decay into tb\tilde{\chi}^{\pm}_1 through a stop or a sbottom. The decay chain produces an edge structure in the m_{tb} distribution. Monte Carlo simulation studies show that the end point and the edge height would be measured at the CERN LHC by using a sideband subtraction technique. The stop and sbottom masses as well as their decay branching ratios are constrained by the measurement. We study interpretations of the measurement in the minimal supergravity model. We also study the gluino decay into tb and \tilde{\chi}^{\pm}_2 as well as the influence of the stop left-right mixing on the m_{bb} distribution of the tagged tbtb events.Comment: revtex, 20 pages in PRD format, 35 eps file
