The Cimahi Regional RPJP 2005-2025 states that population growth and its distribution have become strategic issues and need to be addressed in a gradual and continuous manner, therefore monitoring population distribution is something that must be carried out sustainably. The software development method used is the Rational Unified Process (RUP) method. RUP uses the object-oriented concept, with activities that focus on developing models using the Unified Model Language (UML). This research aims to build a geographic information system that displays a mapping of population distribution in Cimahi City. The data was obtained from the Cimahi City Central Statistics Agency publication. This system was built using QGIS to build maps, PostgreSQL for database management and PHP programming language to display maps to web pages. The final conclusion of this study found that the geographic information system that was built can show information about the distribution of residents of Cimahi City well so that the government can determine more appropriate policies

How two become one: HJURP dimerization drives CENP-A assembly

CENP‐A containing nucleosomes epigenetically specify centromere position on chromosomes. Deposition of CENP‐A into chromatin is mediated by HJURP, a specific CENP‐A chaperone. Paradoxically, HJURP binding sterically prevents dimerization of CENP‐A, which is critical to form functional centromeric nucleosomes. A recent publication in The EMBO Journal (ZasadziƄska et al, 2013) demonstrates that HJURP itself dimerizes through a C‐terminal repeat region, which is essential for centromeric assembly of nascent CENP‐A.FCT fellowship: (SFRH/BD/74284/2010); FCT grants: (BIA-BCM/100557/2008, BIAPRO/100537/2008); EMBO Installation Grant

A conformational analysis of walker motif A [GXXXXGKT (S)] in nucleotide-binding and other proteins

The sequence GXXXXGKT/S, popularly known as Walker motif A, is widely believed to be the site for binding nucleotides in many proteins. Examination of the crystal structures in the Protein Data Bank showed that about half of the examples having these sequences do not bind or use nucleotides. Data analyses showed 92 different Walker sequences of the variable quartet (XXXX). Ramachandran angles in this segment revealed conformational similarity in the group of 45 proteins, known to bind or utilize nucleotides. The conformations of this segment in other proteins differ widely and it is not known whether they play any role in their functions. A flip of a peptide unit at different locations, with little change in the backbone conformation was noted in nine pairs of these proteins having same Walker sequence. An examination of the immediate neighborhood of the Walker sequence indicates that this region is preceded by a ÎČ -strand and followed by an α-helix, resulting in the motif ÎČ–W–α, an invariant feature amongst nucleotide-binding proteins

Portable inflated solar power cold storage house technology as a supporting facility to increase the production and marketing of fishery fishermen.

Indonesia is a maritime country and fourth largest fish exporter in the world. Currently Indonesia exported fish worth around 35,4 billion US dollars in 2012 and continue to rise. The post -catching is the most important aspect of the process to ensure the fish quality will be meeting the standard export. Most of the post-catching process is a home industry based and fridge/freezer had been used to store the fish before sending them to the exporter for further process. Therefore, paper presents the design and development of the Solar Power Cold Storage House for the fishermen. The general purpose is to support production facilities for cheaper alternative which increasing the fishermen profitable for the mass production. The research purpose is to developed a prototype Portable Inflated Solar Power Cold Storage House as a production support facility and fishery marketing that meets aspects of strength, speed, effectiveness, convenience, so that Portable Inflated Solar Power Cold Storage House products also increase the absorption of National Fish. The paper will describe the design process, testing process such as material strength, rapid deployment of the cold storage, environment test and mechanical test.Ministry of Research and Higher Education of Indonesi

Seeing Academically Marginalized Students’ Multimodal Designs from a Position of Strength

This article examines multimodal texts created by a cohort of academically marginalized secondary school students in Singapore as part of a language arts unit on persuasive composition. Using an interpretivist qualitative approach, we examine students’ multimodal designs to highlight opportunities presented for expanding literacy practices traditionally not often available to lower-tracked students. Findings highlight the authorial stances and rhetorical force that this cohort of students employed in their multimodal designs, despite lack of regular opportunities to author texts and a schooling history of low expectations. We echo arguments for the importance of providing all students with opportunities to take positions as designers and creators while acknowledging systematic barriers to such opportunities for academically marginalized students. This study thus aims to counter deficit views of academically marginalized students’ in-school literacy practices and to examine openings for equity through authoritative stance-taking, multivoicedness, and multiple paths to authoring that multimodal composition affords

Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases, the characteristic is hyperglycemia that causes by abnormality of insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. The prevalence of diabetes mellitus in Indonesia was increase from previous years. Optimal controlling of DM can reduce the occurrence of metabolic disorder and chronic vascular disease. The aim of this study was to know the description of controlling diabetes mellitus based on parameters of body mass index (BMI) and blood pressure in the outpatients department of internal medicine at RSUD Arifin Achmad Pekanbaru. This research design was a cross sectional descriptive study with 51 respondents. In this study it was found that the level of controlling DM based on the parameter of BMI and blood pressure was 31,4% respondents and 39,2% respondents repeatedly can achieve the target. Meanwhile respondents who reached the target in both parameters showed 19,6% respondents, 11,8% respondents achieve the target on BMI but failed to achieve the target on blood pressure, 41,2% respondents achieve the target blood pressure but failed to achieve the target on BMI, 27,4% respondents failed to achieve the target on both parameters. It can be concluded that level of controlling DM based on parameters of BMI and blood pressure in the outpatients department of internal medicine at RSUD Arifin Achmad Pekanbaru was not reached the target
