    Economic Synergies from Tighter Agri-Business and Coal Seam Gas Integration

    In addition to government royalties, Australia’s coal seam gas (CSG) development has been beneficial in terms of facilitating regional economic development and growth, expansion of remote populations and facilities, increased employment opportunities and improved regional infrastructure, mainly in regional Queensland. There is substantial revenue potential for the Australian economy from the export of the resource to international energy markets. Many current CSG operations in Australia are located in prime agricultural-cattle grazing regions. Failure to identify potential coexistence opportunities between agribusiness promoting industries (API’s) and the CSG industry could limit the agriculture value chain and consequently restrict Australia’s food security and agricultural export potential. The economic benefits of the CSG industry combined with the importance of a sustained agricultural industry lay the foundation for investigating coexistence opportunities between these industries. The baffles were set to a third temperature so that night-time and day-time conditions, and the effects of low emissivity coatings (low-e), could be considered. It was found that the system is suited to a traditional one-dimensional analysis. A novel approach that allows the use of standard vertical cavity convection correlations and a modified cavity half-width is described, and a cavity modification factor, n∗, is presented. Finally, the n∗ factor and vertical cavity convection correlation are joined with a longwave radiant model, and the results are compared to experimental results.     Role of labour admission test in predicting pregnancy outcome in low-risk cases

    Background: The present study was carried out to determine the role of labour admission test (LAT) in detecting fetal hypoxia in labour and to correlate the findings of the test with perinatal outcome in low-risk cases.Methods: In this study 150 low risk pregnant term women were subjected to LAT and classified according to NICE 2017 guidelines. Pregnancy outcome in terms of need for operative delivery and neonatal status at birth were noted. Data was analysed statistically by Chi-square test.Results: The LAT was normal in 78.67%, suspicious in 17.33% and pathological in 4%. Operative delivery for fetal distress was observed in 18.75% of normal group, in 50% of suspicious group and in 100% of pathological group. The incidence of meconium-stained liquor was significantly high in pathological (50%) and suspicious group (19.23%). The incidence of low 5-minute Apgar score was significantly high in pathological LAT group (33.33%) as compared to suspicious (7.69%) and normal LAT groups (2.54%). Admission to neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) was significantly high in pathological test group (50%). LAT in this study showed 48.15% sensitivity, 96.75% specificity and 76.47% positive predictive value as a screening tool for predicting fetal distress in low-risk patients suggesting that a normal LAT in early labour is an indicator of good pregnancy outcome.Conclusions: LAT is an effective, non-invasive screening method with good specificity to detect fetal distress in low-risk woman and helps to plan management accordingly to improve pregnancy outcome

    Management of Hydradenitis Suppurativa by Apamarga Kshara Sutra - A Case Study

    Hydradenitis suppurativa (HS), also known as Acne Inversa, is a chronic disease characterized by recurrent, painful, deep-seated, rounded nodules and abscesses. Subsequent hypertrophic scarring and suppuration of apocrine gland bearing skin: axilla, groin, peri-anal and perineal regions are main features. Onset is usually after puberty. The disease tends to become chronic with subcutaneous extension leading to indurations, sinus and fistula having a profound impact on the quality of life. The exact aetiology remains unknown. The clinical features of HS can be compared with Naadivrana mentioned in classics. Treatment modalities of Naadivrana includes mainly Ksharataila Poorana and Ksharasutra application are adopted in the present case. A case report of patient suffering from HS since 4.5 years (c/o multiple pus discharging abscesses and hardened area in both axillary region) was treated by number of allopathic surgeons and physicians but there was minimal relief and recurrence (6-7 times) even after Incision and Drianage (I&D) and wide excision. The patient was under Ayurveda treatment for approximately 5 months and pus discharge, hardness reduced completely and is on followup since 8 months there is no recurrence, patient was treated internally with Gandakarasayana, Triphala Guggulu and Varunadi Kashaya. Apamarga Kshara Taila infiltration followed by Apamarga Kshara Sutra application to the intercommunicating sinuses, adviced to maintain local hygiene

    Comparative Study on Nutrition Knowledge and Consumption of Dietary Supplements among Athletes and Fitness Practitioners

    Background: The use of dietary supplements, in the form of protein powders, branched chain amino-aids, multi-vitamins and minerals is widespread in the field of nutrition, fitness and aesthetics to boost nutrition levels, enhance athletic performance or assist in weight loss. The present survey was carried out to study the nutritional knowledge and consumption of dietary supplements among athletes and gym-goers. Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted among athletes and gym-goers (n=100) selected from various gym and stadium in the city of Mysore using semi-structured pre-tested questionnaire. Results: The knowledge and consumption of dietary supplements was higher among gym-goers when compared to that of athletes. Majority (52%) of the gym-goers consumed supplements which included Whey protein in powder form (80%) from past one year. The side effects of supplement consumption was observed among 9.5% athletes. Conclusion: The use of supplements among gym goers was very high which can further lead to health illness eventually. Therefore, this study recommends that users should be sensitized on the importance, protective measures and side effects of using excess nutritional supplements without the consultations of nutritionists/dietetians

A literature review establishes constructs, conceptual relational hypothesis pathways, and an overall (testable) research framework for software firms in Pakistan.
