In the territory of agriculture, proper use of irrigation is important and it is well known that irrigation by drip approach is very cost effective and efficient.Role of agriculture in the development of agricultural country is very important. The freshly come up wireless sensor network (WSN) technology has growing rapidly into distinct multi-disciplinary fields. Agriculture and farming is one of the management which have freshly switch their consideration to WSN, curious this cost adequate technology to improve its production and boost agriculture yield definitive. The outlook of this paper is to design and develop an agricultural monitoring system using wireless sensor network and IOT to enlarge the productivity and quality of farming without penetrating it for all the time manually. Temperature, humidity and water levels are the most important circumstances for the productivity, growth, and quality of plants in agriculture. The temperature, humidity and water level sensors are set up to cluster the temperature and humidity values. One of the most stimulating fields having an exotic need of decision support systems is Precision Agriculture (PA). Through sensor networks, agriculture can be associated to the IoT, with the help of this approach which provides real-time information about the lands and crops that will help farmers make right decisions. The primary influence is implementation of WSN in Precision Agriculture (PA) with the help of IoT which will enhance the usage of water, fertilizers while expand the yield of the crops and also notifications are sent to farmers mobile periodically. The farmers can able to monitor the field conditions from anywhere

The attack of wild cochineal insect, Dactylopius ceylonicus (Green, 1869) (Hemiptera: Coccoideae: Dactylopiidae) has been reported for the first time on Red flower Prickly pear, Opuntia elatior Mill.  (Cactaceae) from Central India. Opuntia elatior was introduced in India as a part of the cochineal trade during the 1800s and is considered an invasive weed in many countries.  Dactylopius ceylonicus is a wild cochineal insect that secretes red-coloured Crimson dye. The insect was introduced mistakenly in place of a true cochineal insect (D. cacti) in an attempt to establish the Cochineal dye industry during the colonial period in India. Many insects of the Dactylopius genera act as biological control agents for invasive Opuntia species.  Many attempts were made in the past to control O. elatior by using D. ceylonicus but didn’t establish itself on Opuntia elatior. It is the first instance when   D. ceylonicus attacking O. elatior is recorded. Through these research findings, we can achieve targeted biological control of O. elatior without affecting species of economic importance i.e. O. ficus-indica. A voucher specimen of Insect sample was submitted to the National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources, Bangalore. The spatial distribution of insects is localized to small regions and has been shown on the map. Probable reasons for host diversification, evolution, and possible economic benefits are discussed in this research article and the need for further research has been emphasized

Root development and apex closure after the eruption of teeth takes a minimum of 3-4 years. If trauma to the pulp occurs during this period, it becomes a challenge for the clinician to treat the pulpal injury. Apexification is the treatment of choice for necrotic teeth with immature apex. Apexification done with calcium hydroxide encounters certain difficulties like very long treatment time, possibility of tooth fracture and incomplete calcification of the bridge. Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) was introduced as an alternative material to traditional materials for the apexification of immature permanent teeth. This case report presents successful management of a case with open apex using MTA followed by Tailor made gutta-percha

ABSTRACT: Apexification with calcium hydroxide is associated with certain difficulties, such as longer treatment time, risk of tooth fracture and incomplete calcification of apical bridge. Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) is an alternative material that can be used for apexification of open apices due to its biocompatibility, non-mutagenicity, non-neurotoxicity, regenerative abilities, and good sealing properties. This case report demonstrates application of MTA apical plug and anatomic post and core for the reconstruction of maxillary central incisor. The patient was recalled after six months and no complications were noted. Periapical radiographs demonstrated good adaptation of anatomical post and core to post space and the complete healing of the periapical lesion. This new technique is particularly advantageous in teeth which have open apex, root canals that are not round, wide canals and thin radicular dentin. It is also useful for who request in patients fewer visits

Background: Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is one of the most common lower genital tract conditions, occurring in 35% of women attending sexually transmitted infection (STI) clinics, 15% to 20% of pregnant women, and 5% to 15% of women attending gynaecology clinic. It has been associated with serious pregnancy complications, including premature rupture of the membranes, preterm delivery and postpartum endometritis. The diagnosis of BV is usually based on clinical criteria including homogeneous vaginal discharge, an elevated vaginal pH, the presence of clue cells, and an amine odour. Objective of this study was to study the prevalence of asymptomatic and symptomatic BV in pregnant women attending antenatal clinic in a tertiary care rural teaching hospital. Methods: Sample size of 301 patients over 6 months study duration in an observational cross sectioned prospective type of study. An unfixed vaginal smear was collected from pregnant women and sent to microbiology for staining and fixing and diagnosis was established. Results: The age range in pregnant women enrolled was 18 to 42 with mean age 26.10 years. As per the Nugent score criteria, 68 (23%) women tested positive for BV (Nugent score 7-10) and 77 (25%) had an intermediate score (Nugent score 4-6). While in 156 (52%) pregnant women’s Nugent score was in between 0-3 indicating no BV but 10% cases amongst these were showing presence of fungal elements mainly budding yeast cells with or without hyphae. In only 53% of cases of BV characteristic clue cells were present. In this study 69% cases of BV were observed in multigravida while 31% were present in primigravida. Conclusions: Screening of asymptomatic pregnant women’s by taking vaginal swab and evaluating gram smear using Nugent score system will play vital role early diagnosis of reproductive tract infections

    Get PDF
Introduction: This in vitro study was designed to evaluate and compare different endodontic irrigation and activation systems for removal of the intracanal smear layer. Methods and Materials: Forty recently extracted, non-carious human intact single rooted premolars were selected and divided into five groups (n=10) according to the root canal irrigation systems; syringe and needle irrigation (CTR), sonic irrigation, passive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI) and EndoVac irrigation system. All groups were prepared to #40 apical size with K-files. Each sample was subjected to final irrigation by using four different irrigation/activation systems. After splitting the samples, one half of each root was selected for examination under scanning electron microscope (SEM). The irrigation systems were compared using the Fisher's exact test with the level of significance set at 0.05. Results: The four groups did not differ from each other in the coronal and mid-root parts of the canal. In the apical part of the canal none of the methods could completely remove all the smear layer but EndoVac system showed significantly better removal of smear layer and debris than the other methods. Conclusion: Within the limitations of the present study, the EndoVac system cleaned the apical part of the canal more efficiently than sonic, ultrasonic and syringe and needle irrigation. Keywords: EndoVac Irrigation System; Passive Ultrasonic Irrigation; Smear Layer; Sonic Irrigation Syste
