DIET COMPOSITION OF ANOA (Buballus sp.) STUDIED USING DIRECT OBSERVATION AND DUNG ANALYSIS METHOD IN THEIR HABITAT
Anoa are fully protected under Indonesian Law since 1931 (Law of Protection of Wild Animals 1931, no
134). Increasing law enforcement regarding hunting as well as promoting awareness of the Anoas unique
threatened the existence of conservation measures. The modern concept of conservation based on the
sustainability utilization, and therefore the knowledge of the Anoa preference in feeding to support the
sustainability conservation should be studied. In the present study, the combination of direct observation
methods which was done in the Lore Lindu National Park in Toro village at District Kulawi, Central Sulawesi
and the epidermal analysis method which was carried out to Anoa’s dung were aimed to identify the vegetations
preferred by Anoa in their habitat. The result showed 28 species of vegetations was used as feed by Anoa
on in situ area. According to its percentage, the first ten were Freycinetia insignis Blume (17%), Microlepia
todayensis Christ (8.9%), Disoxylum sp (8.6%), Lasianthus clementis Merr (7.7%), Clusia sp (7.5%),
Schleria sp (6%), Podocarpus imbricatus (5.4%), Smilax leucophylla (5.1%), Elastostema sp (4.2%),
and Garcinia sp (3.8%), respectively. Furthermore, it can be concluded that Anoa was eat more leafs and
shrubs/bushes (each 24%, respectively) compared to flowers (18%), fruits (12%), shoots (8%), grasses,
tubers, young grooves (each 4%, respectively) and moss (2%). Nutritionally, Anoa consumed 8.8% protein
and 25.6% crude fiber.

Characteristics, Stability and Antimicrobial Activity of Lactic Acid Bacteria (Leuconostoc SP) Isolated From Broiler\u27s Caecum During Storage
Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) is one of the natural microbe which widely used as fermentation agents.The purpose of this study was to examine the characteristics, stability and antimicrobial properties oflactic acid bacteria (Leuconostoc sp) isolated from broiler\u27s caecum during storage. This research wasconducted by the Complete Randomized Design with 4 treatments (time of storage: 0, 2, 4 dan 6 weeks)with 12 replications. Parameters observed were total number and stability properties of Leuconostoc spisolate which known as lactic acid bacteria. The results obtained total number of Leuconostoc sp isolatewere significantly (P<0.05) decreased from 8 x 107 to 1 x 103 Colony Forming Unit (CFU)/mL duringstorage. Stability properties of Leuconostoc sp isolate were not affected by the time of storage.Antimicrobial activity of Leuconostoc sp were significantly (P<0.05) decreased from 9.94 to 8.68, 7.23and 6.14 mm during storage at 2, 4 and 6 weeks
Kadar Vfa dan Nh3 secara In Vitro Pakan Sapi Potong Berbasis Limbah Pertanian dan Hasil Samping Pertanian Difermentasi dengan A. Niger
The objectives of the research was to determine and assess the effect variation of level and different time periode fermentation cattle feed based agricultural waste on in vitro level of VFA and NH3. Statistic analysis used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a 4x4 factorial pattern repeated 3 times to assess the influence of the levels of A. Niger (0, 2, 4 and 6% of dry matter feed) and time periode cattle feed quality (0, 7, 14 and 21 days). The results showed different level starter and time periode fermentation did not show interaction (P<0,05), but each of treatments affect on VFA and NH3 content. Each adding A. Niger and different time periode affect the increased VFA and NH3. Each of adding A. Niger was increased the levels of VFA and NH3 highest in T4 treatment (A. Niger cedar 4%). Each curing time was increase levels of VFA and NH3 highest in treatment B2 (time periode was 14 days)
Profile of Sheep Blood After Administration with CF Amofer
Amoniasi-Fermentation (amofer) technology should be conducted in order to improve the low quality of by product produced from palm oil plantations and mills (palm oil waste) which is used for constituent of feed ingredients in complete feed (CF). This technology also reforms the feed material into edible form. Before broad application, it must be ensured that the feed does not have toxic effects on livestock. This research was peformed to evaluate the effects of amofer palm oil waste-based CF on blood profile and liver function on local sheep. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Nutrition and Feed Science Diponegoro University Semarang, using 16 local male sheep aged 9 months, weight at 14.82+0.82 kg (CV=5.52%), divided into four groups and put into individual cages. They are given CF containing crude protein (CP) 10.63% (T1), 12.27% (T2), 13.70% (T3) and 15.90% (T4), with Total Digestible Nutrients (TDN) range 61.83–64.21%. Blood samples were taken after the sheep consuming the CF for 37 days. Experimental design used was CRD with 4 replications. Observed variables were the levels of hemoglobin, hematocrit and blood glucose. Data were analyzed using ANOVA of CRD. The average value of blood glucose levels for T1= 80.68 mg/dl, T2=79.08 mg/dl, T3=81.18 mg/dl and T4=73.70 mg/dl. The average value of hemoglobin levels for T1=10.80 g/dl, T2=10.30 g/dl, T3=11.23 g/dl and T4=10.25 g/dl. The average value of hematocrit levels for T1=31.00%, T2=31.00%, T3=33.75% and T4=30%. There was no significant difference among four treatments (p>0.05). The administration CF did not cause hematological disorders which showed by the blood profiles were in normal range, so that suggested the CF was appropriate and safe for local sheep
Effect of Complete Feed Starch Banana Weevil Pea Stone on the Beans Goats System in Vivo Against Carcass Weight and Carcass Part
The objective of this research is to study the value of benefits in favor of complete feed production performance and carcass weight of any part of the carcass part-goat nuts. The design used in this study. Random Draft Complete. The material used in this study of 12 male goats Nuts averaging initial body weight (15.58 ± 2.601 kg) with a CV: 16.69%, age 10-15 months. At the end of the study 12 goats to know the weight of nuts cut carcass and parts of the carcass. Results of analysis of variance showed that treatment of complete feed on a significantly different (P <0.05) on carcass weight produced goat nuts. Results of analysis of variance showed that treatment of complete feed on a significantly different (P <0.05) against the weight of all the parts ice nuts goat carcass neck, shoulder, breast, leg chump on, ribs, loin, fore shank and the weight of the flank. CF0 and CF3 treatment effects did not provide a very real difference to the weight of carcass parts, but the weight of the carcass are treated CF3 higher than the CF0.
