    This study aims to determine the effect of leadership, motivation, and workplacement on the performance of employees of the Palembang VIII RiverBasin Region. The study was developed using associative design. There arefour variables used, namely leadership, motivation, work placement, andemployee performance which are overall developed into eighteen indicators.The number of samples was determined by 162 employees who were takenin cluster sampling. The main data needed were primary data withquestionnaire data collection method. The analysis technique used ismultiple linear regression. The results of the study prove that 1) there is asignificant influence of leadership, motivation and work placement togetheron the performance of employees of the Sumatra Sumgai VII Regional Officein Palembang 2) There is a significant influence of leadership, motivationand work placements partially on the performance of employees of theSumgai Sumatra Regional Office VII Palemban

    PENGARUH N-ASETILSISTEIN ORAL TERHADAP KADAR TNF-α DAN sICAM-1 PADA PASIEN PENYAKIT GINJAL KRONIS STADIUM V YANG MENJALANI CAPD DI RSUD Dr. MOEWARDI SURAKARTA R. Satriyo Budhi S1, Bambang P2, Sugiarto2 1Mahasiswa PPDS I Ilmu Penyakit Dalam 2Staf Pengajar PPDS I Ilmu Penyakit Dalam FK UNS/ RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta Latar Belakang Inflamasi dan stres oksidatif adalah faktor resiko penyakit kardiovaskuler pada penderita penyakit ginjal kronis (PGK) stadium V. Pasien PGK yang menjalani CAPD mengalami peningkatan TNF-α dan sICAM-1. N-Asetilsistein (NAS) adalah antioksidan yang mengandung gugus tiol dengan efek antioksidan dan antiinflamasi. Tujuan Penelitian Membuktikan pengaruh NAS oral terhadap penurunan TNF-α dan sICAM-1 pada pasien PGK stadium V yang menjalani CAPD. Metode Penelitian eksperimental dengan Randomized Control Trial (RCT) selama 8 minggu pada 30 pasien yang menjalani CAPD yang telah memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. 30 pasien dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok (15 orang pada kelompok kontrol dan 15 orang pada kelompok perlakuan). TNF-α dan sICAM-1, diukur sebelum dan setelah perlakuan dengan NAS oral selama 8 minggu. Hasil Didapatkan penurunan kadar TNF-α, sebelum perlakuan dibanding setelah perlakuan (5,152,42 vs 3,511,23; p=0,001). Penurunan kadar sICAM-1, sebelum perlakuan dibanding setelah perlakuan (504,12238,82 vs 316,21111,23; p=0,002). Pada uji korelasi didapatkan korelasi positif antara kadar TNF-α dan sICAM-1 sesudah perlakuan r=0,677; p=0,001. Kesimpulan NAS oral secara bermakna menurunkan kadar TNF-α dan sICAM-1 dan ada korelasi antara kadar TNF-α dengan sICAM-1 pada pasien PGK stadium V yang menjalani CAPD.     Integrasi Sosial di Perdesaan : Keterkaitan Kawasan Transmigrasi dengan Desa-desa Sekitar

    Pengembangan masyarakat lebih efektif dilaksanakan melalui kelembagaan berbasis komunitas dan kawasan. Melalui pendekatan kelembagaan, baik kelembagaan ekonomi maupun sosial dapat mempermudah mengontrol pengambilan keputusan, kebijakan, program, dan pelaksanaan. Kelembagaan dapat menghimpun norma dan aturan yang dibuat dan disepakati dalam mengatur pergaulan hidup dengan tujuan bersama berkisar pada kebutuhan-kebutuhan pokok dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis kondisi integrasi sosial, mempelajari pelaksanaan pengembangan masyarakat yang dikembangkan oleh masyarakat transmigrasi dan merumuskan saran tindak dan pendekatan pengembangan masyarakat yang lebih sesuai dalam pembangunan transmigrasi. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi kasus yang memandang realitas sosial sebagai sesuatu yang holistik, kompleks, dinamis, penuh makna dan melihat hubungan gejala yang bersifat interaktif. Melalui kelembagaan dapat mendorong terjadinya dinamika proses seperti interaksi yang intensif, terjadi harmonisasi, toleransi, kegiatan kolektif, dan partisipasi. Dinamika proses yang terjadi menghasilkan integrasi sosial dengan dukungan tiga kekuatan integratif, yaitu koersif di pusat Kota Terpadu Mandiri (KTM), normatif di desa-desa hinterland, dan kawasan KTM dengan integrasi fungsional. Semua unsur melakukan harmonisasi pada derajad tertentu dalam menjamin kelangsungan sistem sosial. Kata kunci: pengembangan masyarakat, integrasi sosial, transmigrasiCommunity development through community and regional based institutions has seen as an effective approach. Those approach, both economic and social institutions can facilitate in the controlling of decision-making, policy, program, and implementation. The research objective is to analyze the conditions of social integration, between migrant and origin community. The research is a qualitative and uses case studies that looks at social reality as something holistic, complex, dynamic, and full of meaning, as well as seeing the interactive relationship of symptoms. Institutions can lead to such intensive interaction processes, harmonization, tolerance, collective activity, and participation. The dynamics of the processes that occur will generate social integration with the support of three integrative forces, namely coercive forces in the center of the Integrated Independent City (KTM), normative forces in the hinterland villages, and the KTM regions with functional integration.     Pengaruh Penggunaan Model Discovery Learning terhadap Efektivitas dan Hasil Belajar Siswa

    A quasi experimental study has been conducted at SMK-SPP Negeri Samarinda. The purpose of this study are knowing the influence of Discovery Learning model on the effectiveness and learning outcomes of students of Class XI SMK-SPP Negeri Samarinda and the response of students to the learning process using the discovery learning model. The method used in this study is an experiment with reference to posttest-only control design. The results shows that there is an influence in effectiveness of learning. In the experiment group is higher than the control class. The student learning result is 93,33% in experiment class while control group is 60%, so it shows that learning using discovery learning model can improve learning outcomes. Students response to learning model of discovery learning is positive, with the result 52,22% very good, 41,11% good and 6,67% not good.Penelitian eksperimen semu telah dilakukan di SMK-SPP Negeri Samarinda. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui pengaruh model Discovery Learning terhadap efektivitas dan hasil belajar siswa Kelas XI SMK-SPP Negeri Samarinda dan tanggapan siswa terhadap proses pembelajaran menggunakan model discovery learning. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah eksperimen dengan merujuk pada posttest-only control design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh efektivitas pembelajaran pada kelompok yang menggunaan model discovery learning, yaitu lebih tinggi dibanding dengan kelompok lain yang tidak menggunakan. Data hasil ketuntasan belajar siswa yang diperoleh adalah 93,33 % di kelompok eksperimen sedangkan di kelompok kontrol adalah 60 %, hal ini menunjukan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan model discovery learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar. Tanggapan siswa terhadap pembelajaran model discovery learning adalah positif dengan hasil 52,22 % sangat baik, 41,11 % baik dan 6,67 % tidak baik

    An Actionable Step: Evaluating the Impact of a Text-Based Vocabulary Intervention to Support Middle School Emergent Bilinguals’ Vocabulary Growth

    Research over the last two decades has shown middle school EBs are at risk for academic failure due to compounded systematic challenges that prevented them from acquiring reading proficiency level required to succeed in academic setting (Bowman-Perrott et al., 2010; Deussen et al., 2017; Sheng et al., 2011; Slama, 2012). EBs face shortages of qualified teachers, lack of access to quality instruction, and lack of appropriate assessment tools (Carnoy & Garcia, 2017; Sanchez, 2017; Umansky, 2016). This crisis is particularly acute for middle schoolers, as academic content often requires extensive reading. Middle school EBs are falling behind academically in comparison to their non-EB peers, disproportionately identified in special education, and more likely to be retained or drop out of school (Gandara & Hopkins, 2010). Currently the available research suggests that vocabulary instruction is essential for older EBs literacy skills and best practices in vocabulary intervention could be applied to support EBs (Baker et al., 2014; Hall et al., 2017; Vaughn, 2022) . The current study examined the effectiveness of an online, text-based vocabulary intervention program on EB’s academic vocabulary knowledge, reading fluency, and reading comprehension. Using a multiple-baseline design, four EBs were provided with six weeks intervention. Visual analysis and descriptive statistics was used to analyzed the result. Results indicate improvement from baseline to interventions on word knowledge for both target and non-target words. However, the result did not show improvements on reading fluency and comprehension. The findings from the current study encourage continued research on text-based vocabulary intervention to support middle school EBs with varying demographic characteristics reading achievements such as vocabulary knowledge, reading fluency, and comprehension
