This paper introduces the descriptive survey of the Exploration of present position and needs among students and teachers in Government primary and middle schools in Tiruverumbur block, Tiruchirappalli district, Tamil Nadu, India: A feasibility perspective of CSR programme. School education is not only the future of the students, but also the most important contributor to the country’s development, which is one of the highest rates in developing countries like India. In today’s situation, rural students are essentially competing with private school students in academic schools, where students are not even available for basic facilities. Moreover, global changes such as liberalizations and privatizations along with globalization makes students more difficult to burden. In this context, the study seeks to examine the expectations and needs of teachers and students to meet these challenges and complete them through CSR. This paper endeavours to provide the related reviews pertaining to the Government schools and encourage efforts to meet their needs by firms and significantly reduce the gap between the two. Even though several studies have been conducted in chosen field hardly few studies attempt to explore the steps to be accomplished through CSR at Government primary and middle schools in Tiruverumbur block, Tiruchirappalli district, Tamil Nadu, India. Dynamic Race Prediction in Linear Time

Writing reliable concurrent software remains a huge challenge for today's programmers. Programmers rarely reason about their code by explicitly considering different possible inter-leavings of its execution. We consider the problem of detecting data races from individual executions in a sound manner. The classical approach to solving this problem has been to use Lamport's happens-before (HB) relation. Until now HB remains the only approach that runs in linear time. Previous efforts in improving over HB such as causally-precedes (CP) and maximal causal models fall short due to the fact that they are not implementable efficiently and hence have to compromise on their race detecting ability by limiting their techniques to bounded sized fragments of the execution. We present a new relation weak-causally-precedes (WCP) that is provably better than CP in terms of being able to detect more races, while still remaining sound. Moreover it admits a linear time algorithm which works on the entire execution without having to fragment it.Comment: 22 pages, 8 figures, 1 algorithm, 1 tabl

AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF LUMBAR SPONDYLOLISTHESIS (KATI SHOOLA) WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO CHINCHA LAVANA SWEDA- A CASE REPORT

    Get PDF
Spondylolisthesis is described as a translation of a vertebra with respect to the vertebra below without any modification or notable lesion to the pars interarticularis. Lumbar spondylolisthesis can be considered as various conditions like Kati shoola, Kati Graha, Trika Graha, Prushta Graha, Trika Shoola, Prushta Shoola, Grudrasi in Ayurveda. The present article deals with a case of diagnosed Grade 1 lumbar spondylolisthesis of L4 over L5 and got advised for surgery. The Ayurvedic diagnosis of Kati soola was made. Management included Abhyanga, Kativasti, Kshira vasti, Virechana, Vaitarana vasti and Chincha lavana sweda along with internal medications. Chincha lavana sweda is a very simple and effective Swedana procedure to cure pain in low back, especially due to Spondylolisthesis. But it is not widely used. This case report also wants to introduce the technique to Ayurvedic practitioners who are unaware of it. Before treatment, total score on Oswestry low back pain disability questionnaire was 34 (68%) and at the time of discharge, the score was 8 (16%). On Roland-Morris low back pain and disability questionnaire, the before treatment score was 17 and at the time of discharge it was reduced to 4. That means the patient showed an improvement of 76% on Roland-Morris low back pain and disability questionnaire. The present case report substantiates effectiveness of classical Ayurvedic Management in spondylolosthesis

AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF PLAQUE PSORIASIS- A CASE STUDY

Psoriasis is a chronic, multisystem inflammatory disease with predominantly skin and joint involvement. In Ayurveda all skin diseases are described under the umbrella of Kushtha. Ayurvedic system of medicine is giving good results in management of Psoriasis. Repeated Samshodhana (purificatory therapies) along with Samshamana (palliative therapies) is the main line of treatment if skin diseases in Ayurveda. Three assessments were taken before and after treatment on scoring of Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI), Psoriasis Disability Index (PDI) and PASI score. Score of the patient was 63.3% before treatment and 13.3% after treatment and 3.3% after follow up on Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI), 44.4% before treatment and 15.5% after treatment and 5.3% after follow up on Psoriasis Disability Index (PDI) and 24.5% before treatment, 5.1% after treatment and 1.2% after follow up in PASI (Psoriasis Area and Severity Index).  This case study wants to substantiate the effectiveness of Ayurvedic treatment in the management of Plaque psoriasis

    Bronchial carcinoid in children

    Get PDF
Bronchial carcinoids (BCs) are uncommon, slow growing, low-grade malignant neoplasm comprising 0.5-2.5% of all primary lung cancers. Although BC’s in childhood often have an endobronchial location causing airway obstruction, they are frequently misdiagnosed as benign conditions, resulting in a delay in definitive diagnosis and treatment. Lung sparing surgery should be done whenever possible, more so in children, for better quality of life and minimizing skeletal abnormality which follows pneumonectomy. We present two cases of bronchial carcinoid in young children

External genital warts or Condyloma Acuminata is caused by the Human Papilloma Virus subtypes 6 and 11. According to Ayurveda it can be diagnosed as Yoni Arsa. This case report presents a 51 yr old female with the complaints of per vaginal discharge, itching and appearance of progressively increasing number of lesions in the vulva for 6 months. The pathological diagnosis of the vulvar lesion specimen was Condyloma Acuminata. Patient was treated with internal administration and external application of Ayurvedic medicines. Considerable relief for the condition was noted and the follow up visits confirmed the non recurrence of the disease. Ayurvedic interventions can be considered as minimal invasive and cost effective in the management of genital warts

An unusual presentation of catastrophic antiphospholipid antibody syndrome in the background of sepsis

    Get PDF
A 59-year-old female presented with complaints of gangrenous changes over right ring finger and reduced renal output. She was in hypotension and had to be started on ionotropes. She also had acute kidney injury and was initiated on hemodialyis. Inspite of culture directed antibiotics and amputation of the necrotic region, her condition worsened. Considering the acute multisystem worsening, i.e., less than a week, concomitant autoimmune etiology was considered. Antiphospholipid antibodies were positive. Her tissue biopsy was suggestive of vasculitis. Hence the diagnosis of catastrophic antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (CAPS) was made. Quick recognition and appropriate treatment play a cornerstone in treatment of CAPS. She was pulsed with methylprednisolone and also treated with intravenous immunoglobulins and anticoagulants. She showed remarkable improvement and responded to the treatment. CAPS should always be kept as a differential in case of multisystem acute deterioration even in the background of sepsis. The treatment is a big challenge to physicians given the associated mortality rate if not briskly treated

Influence of Welding Process Parameters on Bead Geometry-A Review

    Get PDF
Surfacing techniques are developed to impart desirable properties like corrosion and wear resistance to low cost substrates like low carbon steels. Weld surfacing is capable of processing prefabricated and worn-out components. The various welding parameters influence the heat input, bead geometry and occurrence of weld defects. This paper briefly looks into various methods adapted to model, regulate and control weld surfacing techniques. The knowledge on effects of welding process parameters, percentage of overlap, inter-pass temperature, pulse characteristics, oscillation methods and control techniques is helpful to tailor the properties of the deposits. This review is mainly focused on selected welding techniques that can be readily and economically adopted for surfacing process
