TempT: Temporal consistency for Test-time adaptation
We introduce Temporal consistency for Test-time adaptation (TempT) a novel
method for test-time adaptation on videos through the use of temporal coherence
of predictions across sequential frames as a self-supervision signal. TempT is
an approach with broad potential applications in computer vision tasks
including facial expression recognition (FER) in videos. We evaluate TempT
performance on the AffWild2 dataset. Our approach focuses solely on the
unimodal visual aspect of the data and utilizes a popular 2D CNN backbone in
contrast to larger sequential or attention-based models used in other
approaches. Our preliminary experimental results demonstrate that TempT has
competitive performance compared to the previous years reported performances
and its efficacy provides a compelling proof-of-concept for its use in various

Probing the superconducting ground state of ZrIrSi: A SR study
The superconducting ground state of newly reported ZrIrSi is probed by means
of SR technique along with resistivity measurement. The occurrence of
superconductivity at = 1.7 K is confirmed by resistivity
measurement. ZF-SR study revealed that below , there is no
spontaneous magnetic field in the superconducting state, indicates TRS is
preserved in case of ZrIrSi. From TF-SR measurement, we have estimated the
superfluid density as a function of temperature, which is described by an
isotropic wave model with a superconducting gap
= 5.1, indicates the presence of strong
spin-orbit coupling. {\it Ab-initio} electronic structure calculation indicates
that there are four bands passing through the Fermi level, forming four Fermi
surface pockets. We find that the low-energy bands are dominated by the
-orbitals of transition metal Zr, with substantially lesser weight from the
-orbitals of the Ir-atoms.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figure
Investigation of Superconducting Gap Structure in HfIrSi using muon spin relaxation/rotation
Appearance of strong spin-orbit coupling (SOC) is apparent in ternary
equiatomic compounds with 5-electrons due to the large atomic radii of
transition metals. SOC plays a significant role in the emergence of
unconventional superconductivity. Here we examined the superconducting state of
HfIrSi using magnetization, specific heat, zero and transverse-field (ZF/TF)
muon spin relaxation/rotation (SR) measurements. Superconductivity is
observed at = 3.6 K as revealed by specific heat and
magnetization measurements. From the TFSR analysis it is clear that
superfluid density well described by an isotropic BCS type -wave gap
structure. Furthermore, from TFSR data we have also estimated the
superconducting carrier density = 6.6 10m,
London penetration depth = 259.59 nm and effective mass
= 1.57 . Our zero-field muon spin relaxation data indicate no
clear sign of spontaneous internal field below , which implies
that the time-reversal symmetry is preserved in HfIrSi. Theoretical
investigation suggests Hf and Ir atoms hybridize strongly along the -axis of
the lattice, which is responsible for the strong three-dimensionality of this
system which screens the Coulomb interaction. As a result despite the presence
of correlated -electrons in this system, the correlation effect is weakened,
promoting electron-phonon coupling to gain importance.Comment: 8 pages, 4 figure
Post-operative results of tricuspid annuloplasty with teflon felt
Background: Surgical treatment of functional tricuspid valve regurgitation (TR) with left-sided valvular disease still remains a challenge for the cardiac surgeon. We present our observations and results on the usage of Teflon felt as an economic and easily available option for the management for tricuspid disease with an emphasis on the ease of procedure.Methods: In this study 50 (27 male and 23 female) adult skulls were investigated to determine the type of asterion, its distance from important bony landmarks and also the nearby venous sinuses were measured.Results: Epidemiological data like age, gender, symptomatic status using NYHA class, intraoperative details including the procedure performed, cardiopulmonary bypass and cross clamp time were noted. Patients’ preoperative echocardiograms, postoperative echocardiograms done at 1 month, 3 month and 6 month and yearly follow ups were made note of. Most of the patients in our study group are in 4th decade of life with slight female preponderance. Tricuspid regurgitation secondary to rheumatic valvular disease involving left sided valves is the most common etiology. The average size of the teflon felt was sized to the standard SJM sizer and sized to 28.56±3.7 mm. The average CPB time is 138 min 19 sec and average cross clamp time 89 min 14 sec. Five patients had postoperative RV dysfunction out of which three patients recovered with medical management. Overall in-hospital mortality in our study group is 6 (8%). 3 of them died due to low cardiac output, two patients due to sepsis and MODS and one due to bleeding.Conclusions: Annuloplasty with customised hard teflon felt is a safe, easily reproducible, economic alternative with good results and less mortality and morbidity
A conceptual study on the effect of Tilwaka Prathisaraneeya Kshara in Internal Haemorrhoids
Arshas is one of the most common ano-rectal disorder affecting mankind for thousands of years, which is evident from references available in Vedas. Because of its severity it is considered as one among the Astamahagadas. Arshas can be clinically correlated with Haemorrhoids. Haemorrhoids are dilated veins with in the anal canal in the subepithelial region formed by radicles of the superior, middle and inferior rectal veins. It is divided into two categories - internal and external Haemorrhoids. The causes are straining during defecation, sitting for a long period, chronic diarrhea or constipation, being obese, being pregnant, eating low fiber diet, regular heavy lifting etc. Haemorrhoids are very common and affect up to 5% of general population particularly people above 50 yrs of age. Sushruta explains four modalities of treatment for Arshoroga as Bheshaja, Kshara, Agni and Shastra Karma. Kshara Pratisarana is mentioned in case of Arshas which is having features like Mrudu (soft), Prasruta (extensive), Avagadha (deep) and Ucchrita (raised). The effect of Kshara is to replace Shastra Karma, as it does the functions of Chedana, Bhedana and Lekhana Karma. It also does the functions like Dahana, Dharana, Pachana, Vilayana, Shodana, Ropana, Shoshana, Stambana, Krimighna, Kaphaghna, Kustaghna, Vishaghna, and Medhaghna. Hence Kshara Karma is considered to be superior among Shastra and Anushastra Karma. It is a para surgical procedure which requires minimum hospital stay. A comparative study for efficacy and safety of low doses of clonidine for hemodynamic stability in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy
Background: This randomized prospective double-blind study was designed to evaluate the efficacy and side effects of low doses clonidine for perioperative haemodynamic stability and postoperative recovery.Methods: Patient’s with ASA grade I–II undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy were randomized into three groups of 30 patients each. All patients received either normal saline 10 ml (Group I) or 0.8 µg/kg (Group II) or 1 µg/kg (Group III) over duration of 180 seconds, 10 min prior to laryngoscopy and intubation. Anaesthesia was induced with 1% propofol (2 mg/kg) and maintained with nitrous oxide 60% in oxygen and isoflurane. The parameters assessed at various time intervals were heart rate, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, mean arterial pressure and sedation score.Results: Both doses of clonidine proved to be effective in perioperative haemodynamic stability. Clonidine 0.8 mcg/kg was as effectve and safer to Clonidine 1 mcg/kg for attenuatíon of the hemodynamíc responses to laparoscopy. There were no significant differences in the parameters of recovery between groups.Conclusions: Significant hemodynamic derangements can occur during laproscopic cholecystectomy at intubation, pneumoperitoneum and extubation. These were effectively attenuated by premedication with 0.8 mcg/kg and 1 mcg/kg of intravenous clonidine. Dose of 1 mcg/kg though found to be effective but produced adverse effects in form of hypotension and bradycardia
Evidence of Nodal Line in the Superconducting Gap Symmetry of Noncentrosymmetric ThCoC
The newly discovered noncentrosymmetric superconductor ThCoC exhibits
numerous unconventional behavior in the field dependent heat capacity data.
Here we present the first measurement of the gap symmetry of ThCoC by
muon spin rotation/relaxation SR) measurements. Temperature dependence of
the magnetic penetration depth measured using the transverse field SR
measurement reveal the evidence of nodal pairing symmetry. To understand these
findings, we carry out the calculations of superconducting pairing eigenvalue
and eigenfunction symmetry due to the spin-fluctuation mechanism, by directly
implemented the {\it ab-initio} band structures. We find that the system
possesses a single Fermi surface with considerable three-dimensionality, and
hence a strong nesting along the -direction. Such a nesting promotes a
superconducting pairing with a -like symmetry with a prominent nodal
line on the plane. The result agrees well with the experimental

Health Workers’ Perceptions on Where and How to Integrate Tobacco Use Cessation Services Into Tuberculosis Treatment; A Qualitative Exploratory Study in Uganda
Background: Tobacco use is associated with exacerbation of tuberculosis (TB) and poor TB treatment outcomes. Integrating tobacco use cessation within TB treatment could improve healing among TB patients. The aim was to explore perceptions of health workers on where and how to integrate tobacco use cessation services into TB treatment programs in Uganda. Methods: Between March and April 2019, nine focus group discussions (FGDs) and eight key informant interviews were conducted among health workers attending to patients with tuberculosis on a routine basis in nine facilities from the central, eastern, northern and western parts of Uganda. These facilities were high volume health centres, general hospitals and referral hospitals. The FGD sessions and interviews were tape recorded, transcribed verbatim and analysed using content analysis and the Chronic Care Model as a framework. Results: Respondents highlighted that just like TB prevention starts in the community and TB treatment goes beyond health facility stay, integration of tobacco cessation should be started when people are still healthy and extended to those who have been healed as they go back to communities. There was need to coordinate with different organizations like peers, the media and TB treatment supporters. TB patients needed regular follow up and self-management support for both TB and tobacco cessation. Patients needed to be empowered to know their condition and their caretakers needed to be involved. Effective referral between primary health facilities and specialist facilities was needed. Clinical information systems should identify relevant people for proactive care and follow up. In order to achieve effective integration, the health system needed to be strengthened especially health worker training and provision of more space in some of the facilities. Conclusions: Tobacco cessation activities should be provided in a continuum starting in the community before the TB patients get to hospital, during the patients’ interface with hospital treatment and be given in the community after TB patients have been discharged. This requires collaboration between those who carry out health education in communities, the TB treatment supporters and the health workers who treat patients in health facilities
FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF SOLID SELF MICRO EMULSIFYING DISPERSIBLE TABLET OF PIROXICAM
Objective: The aim of this study was to formulate the solid self-micro emulsifying dispersible tablets for promoting the dissolution of Piroxicam.
Methods: Solubility study test was performed to know the solubility of various oil phase, surfactants, cosurfactants. Self-emulsifying grading test was done by visual grading system. Ternary phase diagrams and droplet size analysis test were performed to screen and optimize the Piroxicam-self microemulsifying drug delivery system (SMEDS). Then microcrystalline cellulose (KG802) was added as a suitable adsorbent and dispersible tablet were prepared by wet granulation compression method.
Results: The final composition of Piroxicam-SMEDS was oil phase (oleic acid, 23%), surfactant (Cremophor R H-40,61%), co-surfactant (PEG-400,16%) based on the result of solubility test, self-emulsifying grading test, droplet size analysis and ternary phase diagrams. Microcrystalline cellulose (KG802) was selected based on dissolution study (98.35%) and added to liquid Piroxicam-Smeds formulation to form dispersible tablets. The in vitro dissolution study showed 98.02 % of drug release from Piroxicam-SMEDS tablets.
Conclusion: Piroxicam–Self microemulsifying dispersible tablets have increased the solubility and bioavailability of the Piroxicam to a greater extent. SMEDS formulation can help the solubility of poorly water-soluble drugs
