    The learning activities carried out every day meet the standards and are in accordance with the curriculum implemented at the school. PSP Indonesian Language and Literature, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Univercity of Mahasaraswati Denpasar carries out community service at SD Negeri 10 Pemecutan Kelod. One of the topics discussed was Ethnopedagogy-Based RPP Preparation Training. This service aims to emphasize local wisdom and build behavior and attitudes that are integrative with local cultural values. In fact, there are still teachers at SD Negeri 10 Pemecutan who don't understand how to prepare lesson plans based on local wisdom. During daily learning, teachers have included or applied local wisdom but it has not been written administratively in the RPP.     A COMPREHENSIVE STUDY ON STUDENTS' ESSAY WRITING SKILLS

    The objective of this study was to investigate the essay-writing skills of students in Indonesian education institutions. A descriptive study approach was used to collect data from a group of students. Students were given three topics to choose from and were instructed to write academic essays within a certain time range. The student writings were gathered and scored using a scoring rubric that assessed several components of the essays. The data obtained were statistically analysed using descriptive analysis to describe the students’ essay writing skills. According to the findings of this study, the majority of students performed modestly on the writing test, with some performing better than others. The research found that the students struggled with organization and consistency, while their grammar and word usage still required to be improved. Terutama di dalam mendapatkan informasi serta menginformasikan hasil kerja peserta didik di media sosial.  Literasi digital yang digunakan harus berorientasi pada kemampuan seseorang untuk berpikir kritis dan menggunakan bahasa yang komunikatif. Permasalahan yang dihadapi tentang tantangan leterasi digital bagi guru, dosen, siswa dan mahasiswa, dan metode pembelajaran yang cocok dengan pembelajaran berbasis literasi digital.     Learning loss: Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the students’ psychosocial condition

    Learning loss occurs when students lose knowledge and skills generally or specifically or there is an academic impediment due to prolonged gaps or the discontinuation of the educational process. This study aims to examine learning loss during and after the COVID-19 pandemic and its psychological impact on students. Qualitative research was carried out comprehensively in schools in Indonesia by conducting interviews with teachers who were selected as the subjects of this research. The results of this study indicated that there was a learning loss during and after the COVID-19 pandemic and had an impact on students' psychological conditions in learning. Therefore, this research implies that teachers must consider the conditions of student learning loss and always try to find the right solution to improve students' abilities to reduce the learning loss

    Folktale is a piece of literature in the form of traditional stories that have been conveyed by word of mouth before the writing system was developed. Folktale contains linguistic features such as words, poetic sounds, phonological patterns conveyed repeatedly or in parallel which creates an interesting rhythm. Various studies have been carried out on folktale which is rich in cultural-historical, philological, sociological and psychological aspects, which reflect very broad and multidisciplinary cultural values. However, in the field of language teaching, the potential of folktale seems to be underutilized in today's language classes. This research was conducted intensively in Indonesian language and literature classes in two learning cycles to improve students’ understanding of cultural values and develop students’ linguistic competence. The results of this study showed that students’ competencies towards local cultural values and their linguistic abilities increase after learning takes place as evidenced by the results of the students’ post-test scores.     Recently online learning has been developed widely in Indonesia and most of the education institutions implemented online learning during the covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of online learning is to facilitate communication in the delivery of teaching materials in the field of education that is carried out remotely. It is generally intended for non-face-to-face teaching methods. This study was conducted to investigate the usefulness and the challenges encountered by the teachers in implementing online learning. This study made use of qualitative research design with descriptive analysis and to collect the data semi-structured interviews and online classroom observations were conducted to collect valid and reliable data. This study found that there was the usefulness of online learning which benefits students to improve their competence and also there were a number of challenges encountered by the teachers. Therefore, this study implies that teachers should acknowledge the challenges of online learning to create a better online learning activity

    Proses komunikasi dan interaksi sosial menimbulkan kecenderuangan seorang penutur memanfaatkan potensi variasi bahasa. Salah satu variasi bahasa itu berupa alih kode dan campur kode untuk menjaga kebersamaan dalam komunitasnya. Alih kode dan campur kode adalah pergantian pemakaian bahasa atau ragam bahasa tertentu ke bahasa lain.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan wujud alih kode dan wujud campur kode tertentu yang ditemukan dalam Dialog mahasiwa dan mahasiswi Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesi Fakultas Keguruan Dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP) Universitas Mahasaraswati (Unmas) Denpasar. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa memang benar adanya alih kode dan campur kode dalam dialog mahasiswa dan mahasiswi Manggarai yang berlangsung di Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia (PSP) Fakultas Keguruan Dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP) Universitas mahasaraswati Denpasar (Unmas).     The present study aims at investigating the competence level of prospective English teachers through interactive lesson study which involved supervisions of teachers, lecturers, and student teachers themselves. A Classroom Action Research in the form of an interactive lesson study model was conducted in four steps, namely planning, practicing, observing, and reflecting. Moreover, the research was administered in two cycles. Some instruments used in data collection were rubric of teaching practice, character checklist, questionnaire, and participatory observation form. The effectivity of approach could be analyzed based on the average scores of 30 student teachers yielded randomly in each cycle, which gradually increased compared to their pre-tests after interactive lesson study has been applied. In the first cycle, the competence of student teachers started to improve with the total score of 1730 and an average score of 58 for the attitude aspect, the total score of 2169 and an average score of 72 for the knowledge aspect, and the total score of 2198 and an average score of 73 on the skill aspect. The achievement of the students' score in cycle 1 was 68 with the medium category. In the second cycle, changes in student learning attitudes began to show significant improvement: total score of 2390 on attitude aspect with a mean of 80, a total score of 2416 on knowledge aspect with a mean of 81, and a total score of 2457 on skill aspect with a mean of 83. Student score gained in cycle II was 82 with the high category. In a nutshell, the ability of the students in their learning attitudes, knowledge, and writing skills were specified as the high category with cultural attitude

    Competence is usually associated with highly professional performance and there is a direct link in the field of education between a teacher’s professional competence and students’ performance. The present study explores teachers’ competences in dealing with instructional constraints to develop a higher quality of learning. The participants were pre-service junior high school teachers. The analysis includes teachers’ strategies in encountering the various constraints and problem faced by the teachers in conducting teaching and learning process. This study made use of a qualitative research design in which the data were analyzed analytically with deep argumentation and presented descriptively. Data were collected through direct observation and in-depth interviews with the selected junior high school teachers. The findings of the present study indicated that pre-service junior school teachers employed some strategies in dealing with the students' learning constraints which mainly modifying teaching strategies and motivating the students to learn more actively. This study suggests that teachers should continually develop their competence in dealing with various problems found in the classroom
