This paper aims to develop English language skills, especially due to tourism. Based on the theme, the team of Lecturers in English Language Education, Purworejo Muhammadiyah University presents material on learning English, especially in the field of tourism in the village of Tlogobulu, Kaligesing, Purworejo, especially the community of Tlogobulu Village, Kaligesing, Purworejo, especially the community. In Purworejo regency, there are several tourism locations that have the potential to be developed to the national, even international level. In addition, to drive the economic potential of the tourism sector from upstream to downstream, it is very important to empower the tourism potential in the village area. Therefore, the english education lecturer's community service team in collaboration with the village head of Tlogobulu, Kaligesing subdistrict, Purworejo, organized an activity with the theme ‘’English for Tourism for the Tourism Village Pioneer”. Thus the participants gained new experiences, especially about Tourism English skills. The material they obtained from the English Lecturer team is as follows;  (1) "English for Special Purposes to Tourism Village", (2) "English for Negotiating in the Communication",  (3) "Vocabulary for Tourism and Hospitality".&nbsp

This study aims to find out rhetorical proof and rhetorical figure of repetition, to analyze the speech delivery strategy, and to explain the application of rhetoric in teaching speaking. This research belongs to qualitative research. The main instrument in this research was the researcher itself using documentation. The data of this research was taken from RM’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly in the form text and video. The unit analysis of this research was the transcript of RM’s speech and the video of the speech. The researcher analyzed the data using content analysis. The result of this research showed that RM used rhetorical proof logos (10%), ethos (42%), and pathos (48%) in his speech. He also provided rhetorical figure of repetition such as anaphora (45%), epistrophe (11%), mesodiplosis (22%), anadiplosis (11%), and conduplication (11%) to give his speech the touch of art. In delivering speech, he used speech delivery strategy, includes storytelling for 54%, tone of voice, pause, and body movement. Moreover, the result of the study in this research can be applied in English learning at the tenth grade, especially in spoken advertisement

Abstract: English Teachers’ Perception of Higher Order Thinking Skills Viewed from Importance and Complexity. Objectives: This study aims at exploring the Vocational High School English teachers’ perception of its importance as well as its complexity of teaching HOTS. Methods: A mix-method approach of data collection and analysis was applied in this study. The data were obtained from 40 VHS teachers, the members of the English teacher association of Wonosobo regency, Central Java, Indonesia by using one set of close-ended questionnaires and in-depth interviews. Findings: The result indicates 1) VHS English teachers have a very high perception of the importance of teaching HOTS for their students; 2) a high perception of the complexity of applying HOTS resulted from the students’ unreadiness and teachers’ lack of competence in integrating HOT in English class. Conclusion: A very positive perception of the importance of teaching HOTS among VHS teachers. It is in constrast with the high perception of the complexity of applying HOTS. Training HOTS is needed for planning, implementing and assessing HOTS.Keywords: teachers’ perception, English teacher, vocational high school. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i1.20222

Steps toward a high precision solar rotation profile: Results from SDO/AIA coronal bright point data

Coronal bright points (CBP) are ubiquitous small brightenings in the solar corona associated with small magnetic bipoles. We derive the solar differential rotation profile by tracing the motions of CBPs detected by the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) instrument aboard the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO). We also investigate problems related to detection of coronal bright points resulting from instrument and detection algorithm limitations. To determine the positions and identification of coronal bright points we used a segmentation algorithm. A linear fit of their central meridian distance and latitude versus time was utilised to derive velocities. We obtained 906 velocity measurements in a time interval of only 2 days. The differential rotation profile can be expressed as ωrot=(14.47±0.10+(0.6±1.0)sin⁥2(b)+(−4.7±1.7)sin⁥4(b))\omega_{rot} = (14.47\pm 0.10 + (0.6\pm 1.0)\sin^{2}(b) + (-4.7\pm 1.7)\sin^{4}(b))\degr day−1^{-1}. Our result is in agreement with other work and it comes with reasonable errors in spite of the very short time interval used. This was made possible by the higher sensitivity and resolution of the AIA instrument compared to similar equipment as well as high cadence. The segmentation algorithm also played a crucial role by detecting so many CBPs, which reduced the errors to a reasonable level. Data and methods presented in this paper show a great potential to obtain very accurate velocity profiles, both for rotation and meridional motion and, consequently, Reynolds stresses. The amount of coronal bright point data that could be obtained from this instrument should also provide a great opportunity to study changes of velocity patterns with a temporal resolution of only a few months. Other possibilities are studies of evolution of CBPs and proper motions of magnetic elements on the Sun
