oscillations and measurements of at LEP
In this paper a review of the LEP analyses on oscillations
and on the measurement of is presented . These measurements
are of fundamental importance in constraining the and parameters
of the CKM matrix. A review of the current status of the matrix
determination is also given.Comment: Talk given at the "HQ98 Conference", Fermilab - Batavia (USA),

Determination of Unitarity Triangle parameters: where do we stand ?
In this note I review the current determination of the unitarity triangle
parameters by using the theoretical and experimental information available in
summer 2000.Comment: Invited talk given at the 7th International Conference on B-Physics

Final Results on Heavy Quarks at LEP and SLD
In the last decade, the LEP and SLD experiments played a central role in the
study of B hadrons (hadrons containing a b quark).
New B hadrons have been observed (, \Lambda_b\Xi_bB^{**}|V_{cb}||V_{ub}||V_{td}||V_{ts}|$. We will show how all these measurements, together
with theoretical developments, have significantly improved our knowledge on the
flavour sector of the Standard Model.Comment: Talk given at the XXX SLAC Summer Institute, ssi2002, August

Review on B^0- \bar{\rm \bf{B^0}} mixing and b-lifetimes measurements at CDF/LEP/SLD
A review of the results on B^0- \bar {\rm B^0} mixing and b-lifetimes
obtained by CDF, LEP and SLD collaborations is presented with special emphasis
on B^0_s- \bar {{\rm B}^0_s} mixing.Comment: 3 page
Current Status of the CKM Matrix and the CP Violation
These lectures give an introduction and the current status of flavour physics
in the quark sector, with special attention to the CKM matrix and CP violation.
We describe the measurements which contribute to the determination of the CKM
matrix elements and how, together with important theoretical developments, they
have significantly improved our knowledge on the flavour sector of the Standard
Model. These lectures are complemented by the seminar of U. Mallik (see these
proceedings) which describes in more details the most recent CP-violating
related measurements by the B-factories. The results presented are up-to-date
till winter 2004.Comment: Lectures given at the Cargese School of Particle Physics and

Constraints on the parameters of the CKM matrix by End 1998
A review of the current status of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix (CKM)
is presented. This paper is an update of the results published in [1]. The
experimental constraints imposed by the measurements of \epsilon_K,
V_{ub}/V_{cb}, \Delta m_d and from the limit on \Delta m_d are used. Values of
the constraints and of the parameters entering into the constraints, which
restrict the range of the \bar{\rho} and \bar{\eta} parameters, include recent
measurements presented at 1998 Summer Conferences and progress obtained by
lattice QCD collaborations. The results are: \bar{\rho}=0.202
^{+0.053}_{-0.059},\bar{\eta}=0.340 \pm 0.035, from which the angles \alpha,
\beta and \gamma of the unitarity triangle are inferred : \sin 2 \alpha = -0.26
^{+ 0.29}_{-0.28} ,\sin 2 \beta = 0.725 ^{+0.050}_{-0.060} ,\gamma=
(59.5^{+8.5}_{-7.5})^{\circ}. Without using the constraint from \epsilon_K,
\sin 2 \beta has been obtained: \sin 2 \beta = 0.72 ^{+0.07}_{-0.11}. Several
external measurements or theoretical inputs have been removed, in turn, from
the constraints and their respective probability density functions have been
obtained. Central values and uncertainties on these quantities have been
compared with actual measurements or theoretical evaluations. In this way it is
possible to quantify the importance of the different measurements and the
coherence of the Standard Model scenario for CP violation. An important result
is that \Delta m_s is expected to be between [12.0-17.6] ps^{-1} with 68% C.L.
and <20 ps^{-1} at 95% C.L. Finally relations between the CKM parameters and
the quark masses are examined within a given model.Comment: 26 page
Feasibility study for a model independent measurement of 2 in decays using final states
In this paper we present a feasibility study for measuring the combination of
the Unitarity Triangle angle 2 with a time dependent Dalitz
analysis in decays using final states following the
method proposed in [1]. For this study we build a model for this decay using
the latest experimental information and we investigate the possibility of
fitting together with 2 all the relevant strong amplitudes and
phases of the decay model.

Rasagiline and PD Therapy
Summary Parkinson's disease (PD) is a therapy area with considerable unmet needs. The current key targets for PD treatment include the slowing of disease progression, improved control of motor fluctuations in advanced disease and the treatment of nonmotor symptoms. In view of such major requirements, it is important to consider how new drug treatments fit into the context of PD therapy, and the practical advantages that they may offer in the management of PD in clinical practice. Rasagiline is a novel, second-generation, irreversible, selective monoamine oxidase type B inhibitor that is indicated for the treatment of idiopathic PD, either as initial monotherapy or as adjunct therapy (with levodopa) for patients experiencing end-of-dose motor fluctuations. This review assesses the outcome from several large-scale clinical studies that have investigated the use of rasagiline in early and advanced PD patient populations and discusses the role of rasagiline within the current scope of PD therapy
