Association between reproductive traits and four microsatellites in Bragus-Ibagé cattle

The aim of the present study was to verify associations between reproductive efficiency and four microsatellite markers located in synteny with genes involved in the regulation of reproductive mechanisms. A sample of 107 females from a Brangus Ibagé population (5/8 Aberdeen Angus x 3/8 Nelore) was characterized for ETH225 (D9S1) and MM12E6 (D9S20) microsatellites, mapped on chromosome 9, and HEL5 (D21S15) and AFZ1 (D21S37) on chromosome 21. Associations between the genetic markers and reproductive efficiency were determined by one-way analysis of variance using calving interval (CI), live weight at calving (LWC), live weight at first calving (LW1C) and live weight at second calving (LW2C) as dependent variables. The genotypes were classified according to allele size into homozygous for long alleles, homozygous for short alleles and heterozygous. A longer CI was observed for individuals homozygous for long alleles at the HEL5 locus compared with the others (p = 0.022). For the AFZ1 locus, an inverse correlation between allele size and calving interval was observed (p = 0.022), suggesting that homozygosity for long alleles at this microsatellite could be advantageous. Analysis of the combined effect of favorable genotypes at HEL5 and AFZ1 indicated that animals with unfavorable genotypes (homozygous for long alleles at HEL5 and homozygous for short alleles at AFZ1) presented a significantly longer CI (p = 0.003) when compared to the other genotypes. The ETH225 and MM12E6 systems did not present any association with CI. None of the systems studied showed any significant association with LWC, LW1C or LW2C

O cinema brasileiro entre 1982 e 1993 : uma análise a partir da Revista Cinemin

A presente monografia tem como objetivo analisar a produção, distribuição e exibição cinematográfica do cinema brasileiro entre os anos de 1982 e 1993, através da 5ª série da Revista Cinemin (editada entre nov. de 1982 a nov. de 1993). A escolha pela Revista Cinemin deu-se pela sua importância como registro de crítica especializada em cinema durante o período em questão. Como parte deste trabalho, além da análise da produção, distribuição e exibição do cinema nacional, a partir do que era publicado pela Revista Cinemin, também foi realizada a contextualização com o momento cinematográfico da época. Para tal análise, foi empregada uma abordagem investigativa, utilizando para isto técnicas de pesquisa relacionadas ao emprego de revisão bibliográfica e análise documental sobre a produção e trajetória do cinema nacional entre 1982 e 1993, estabelecendo paralelos com a situação política, social e cultural do país. A partir dos pontos que guiam esta pesquisa, a questão a que se propõe este trabalho é investigar como a Revista Cinemin representou em suas edições a produção, divulgação e a distribuição de filmes nacionais durante sua existência, e verificar a relação com o contexto político, social e cultural vigente no país, demonstrando que a mesma reproduziu através de seus artigos as dificuldades e os desafios pelos quais a produção audiovisual no Brasil atravessava na época da sua publicação.This monograph aims to analyze the production, distribution and exhibition of Brazilian cinema between 1982 and 1993, through the 5th series of Revista Cinemin (published between november 1982 and november 1993). The choice of Cinemin Magazine was due to its importance as a record of specialized cinema criticism during the period in question. As part of this work, besides the analysis of the production, distribution and exhibition of national cinema, from what was published by the Cinemin Magazine, the contextualization with the cinematic moment of the time was also performed. For this analysis, an investigative approach was used, using research techniques related to the use of literature review and documentary analysis on the production and trajectory of national cinema between 1982 and 1993, drawing parallels with the political, social and cultural situation of the country. From the points that guide this research, the purpose of this paper is to investigate how Cinemin Magazine represented in its editions the production, dissemination and distribution of national films during its existence, and to verify the relationship with the political context, social and cultural force in the country, demonstrating that it reproduced through its articles the difficulties and challenges that audiovisual production in Brazil was going through at the time of its publication
