The quality of hospitals services has a significant impact on customer satisfaction of healthcare in private hospitals of Jaffna District in Sri Lanka. The objective of the study is to assess the important dimensions of service quality in the services offered by private hospitals and to understand the factors that influence service quality in private hospitals. The findings of this study could provide useful information as to how hospitals could better manage their services to enhance their service quality. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 250 patients those availed health services from a private hospital in Jaffna District. Service quality were measured based on customer satisfaction levels by using a questionnaire which was consist the service quality dimensions of tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and communication. The research findings indicated that all factors have positive correlations and the relationship among variables is significant. And further more Jaffna district private hospitals’ patients rated the reliability dimension the most important of all, followed by tangibles, assurance, empathy, responsiveness, whereas the communication dimension rated least important of all. By considering these findings, the hospital will make the patients satisfied with its services, and in turn improve their willingness to recommend the hospitals' services to others. Finite area method for nonlinear supersonic conical flows

    Get PDF
A fully conservative numerical method for the computation of steady inviscid supersonic flow about general conical bodies at incidence is described. The procedure utilizes the potential approximation and implements a body conforming mesh generator. The conical potential is assumed to have its best linear variation inside each mesh cell; a secondary interlocking cell system is used to establish the flux balance required to conserve mass. In the supersonic regions the scheme is symmetrized by adding artificial viscosity in conservation form. The algorithm is nearly an order of a magnitude faster than present Euler methods and predicts known results accurately and qualitative features such as nodal point lift off correctly. Results are compared with those of other investigators

Stochastic 2-D Navier-Stokes Equation with Artificial Compressibility

In this paper we study the stochastic Navier-Stokes equation with artificial compressibility. The main results of this work are the existence and uniqueness theorem for strong solutions and the limit to incompressible flow. These results are obtained by utilizing a local monotonicity property of the sum of the Stokes operator and the nonlinearity.Comment: 18 page

Indigenous communities in Canada are some of the most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. Research has tended to focus more on the Arctic region in Canada and more recently, a need to understand how climate change is impacting First Nations communities in the Great Lakes region has emerged. Whitefish River First Nation is an Anishinaabe community located on the northern shores of Georgian Bay in Lake Huron in the Great Lakes Ecosystem of Ontario. This qualitative research study, by working with the Whitefish River First Nation aimed to address how a First Nations community’s health and well-being is being impacted by climate change. Indigenous research methodologies and environmental justice concepts were used to frame this research study. Through focus groups with community members and Elders and key informant interviews, information and knowledge from participants of Whitefish River First Nation was gathered and analyzed. Impacts to the community’s health and well-being as a result of climate change and other environmental stressors was shared. Based on the discussions and adaptation strategies that emerged from the community, this paper outlines recommendations for how to move forward and address the impacts of climate change on First Nations communities in the Great Lakes region
