    Use of Steel Plate Mechanical Anchor for Strengthening Bamboo Reinforced Concrete Beam Column Joints

    Bamboo can be employed as a substitute for steel in the longitudinal reinforcement of reinforced concrete. The object of this study was to investigate the influence of mechanical anchorage on the shear load capacity of bamboo reinforced concrete beam column joints. Four full scale beam column joint specimens with differing anchor lengths were tested experimentally in the Brawijaya University Civil Engineering Laboratory with cyclic loading. The mechanical anchorages (headed bars) consisting of the head and foot sections, the heads of 3 mm thick steel plate of 160 mm x 25 mm, two steel reinforcing rods of 6 mm diameter as the legs of 150 mm, 200 mm, and 250 mm, were welded to the heads. There were four headed bar lengths A1 15 cm, A220 cm, A3 25 cm, and B (the hooked anchor) 20 cm in length. The headed bars were installed on the joints and the specimens subjected to cyclic loading. The test results indicated that the maximum shear load was 9.24 kN for all specimens with headed bars (A1, A2, and A3) and8.10 kN for the conventional hooked specimen (B).     Experimental Study On Lateral Load Capacity of Bamboo RC Beam Column Joints Strengthened By Bamboo Mechanical Anchors

    In this paper, the prospective of bamboos which available abundantly especially in Indonesia as rebars and mechanical anchors are studied. And also the endurance of the bamboos mechanical anchors to withstand cyclic loading were observed. Nine classes of bamboos bar were evaluated: consist of 3 different anchors (0, 4 and 8 anchors) and 3 different compressive strength (19.19 MPa, 29.61 MPa and 37.96 MPa) means 3x3 parameters. The results show that the lateral load capacity increased significantly with the present of bamboo anchors specimens: 26.04 % for 4 anchors specimens (C2) and 25 % for the 8 anchors specimens (C3) compared to zero anchor specimens (C1). On the other hand, the compressive strength of concrete have no significant effects to the lateral load capacity. Overall it can be concluded that, bamboo can be used as mechanical anchorage to strengthen beam column joint

    Characterisation of Ground Coal Bottom Ash With Different Grinding Times

    The physical and chemical composition of Ground Coal Bottom Ash (GCBA) exposed to varying grinding periods is discussed in this article. CBA was pulverised for 20 hours, 30 hours, and 40 hours in a ball mill machine. Particle Size Analyzer (PSA) and X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) instrument were used to characterise GCBA. According to the results of the tests, GCBA with a grinding duration of 40 hours generates the largest percentage of the finest particle (50-1000 nm) at 4%, the specific surface area is 13528.18 cm2/cm3, and the specific gravity (SG) is 2.54. According to the XRF results, there are no significant variations in the chemical compositions of the CBA with varying grinding periods. At 20, 30, and 40 hours grinding time, the primary oxide element for SiO2 is 51.5%, 53.8%, and 52.3%, while Al2O3 is 14.3%, 15.1%, and 14.6%, and Fe2O3 is 5.08%, 5.27%, and 5.07% respectively. The sum of three primary oxide constituents surpasses the 70% ASTM C618 limit for pozzolanic material Class F fly ash

    Container Positivity and Larva Distribution Based on the Container Characteristics

    Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever (DHF) prevention and control program has been conducted in Kupang City but DHF Incidence Rate (IR) is always high and exceeds the national average. Calculating the density of larvae and pupae is a good choice in calculating DHF mosquitos’ density because larvae capture is easier than mosquitoes, and pupa is the nearest stage with adult mosquitoes so can better represent actual mosquito density. This observational study used cross sectional study design was conducted in Kupang City as many 24 urban villages or 480 houses during the rainy and dry season and all containers inside and outside homes selected been observed. Larvae and pupae were collected using gamadotik then identified. Analyzed data were using multiple regression logistic test, independent t test and Anova test. This study found 781 containers with the equation model of container positivity = 2,975 lid - 0.192 material + 0.781 type - 3,706, with the most influential variable is the container lid (OR 19.5). Ae. Aegypti, Ae. Albopictus and Culex can be found in water containers both inside and outside homes. The presence of larvae can be prevented either by doing closed and drain the container regularly and bury or drying container that is not used anymore. As limitation of water supply so other solutions need to be taken such as by sprinkling temefos into container with closed tightly to reduce the container positivity 19.5 times. For greater container can be done by water draining or reuse used container outside the home into a place to plant flowers or plants or become temporary garbage

    AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi jenis dan implementasi pola asuh orang tua dalam membentuk karakter religius anak, serta menggambarkan karakter religius anak yang mengalami pola asuh tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Subjek penelitian adalah seorang ibu berinisial SA yang tinggal di Dusun 3 Desa Dogang. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik wawancara. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola asuh yang diterapkan oleh orang tua adalah Pola Asuh Demokratis, di mana anak diberikan kebebasan dalam pengambilan keputusan terkait ibadah dan aktivitas religius. Orang tua juga memberikan pengajaran agama dan contoh positif. Hasil dari pola asuh tersebut adalah anak menunjukkan karakter religius yang ditandai dengan ketaatan dalam beribadah, perilaku jujur, dan kecenderungan untuk berbagi.
