Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Any disturbance in the equilibrium in the Dhatus known as disease and on the other hand, the state of their equilibrium is health. Health and disease defined as pleasure and pain. Ayurveda based on the premise that the universe made up of five elements: air, fire, water, earth, and ether. These elements represented in humans by three "Doshas,” or energies: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Ayurveda aims at maintaining the health of the healthy persons and curing ailments of diseased, many of concepts explained in Ayurveda that serve these purposes. Both Physiological and pathological units depend upon the balance of Dosha, Dhatu and Mala. Ashraya Ashrayi Bhava is the unique concept in Ayurveda deals the interdependency of Dosha, Dhatu and Mala. This concept elucidated to distinguish the relation between the Dosha Dhatu, and Mala. Dosha, Dhatu and Mala are the main constituents of human body. Doshas are interpreted Gunatha, Karmatha and they are inherent in Dhatus and Mala to exhibit it qualities and functions. There is a wide range of application of the concept. Here these interpreted in physiological, pathological aspect, in development of disease, prognosis of disease and in planning appropriate treatment

Get PDF
Vildagliptin belongs to a class of orally active anti-diabetic drug which inhibits dipeptidyl peptidase-4(DPP-4) and to potentiate the secretion of insulin in the β-cells, there by decreasing blood glucose level. Vildagliptin is a short half life drug so it needs to formulate into sustained release dosage form to reduce dose frequency for patient compliance. Among various techniques, formulation of matrix tablets using matrix formers is a simple and industrially useful technique in the design of sustained release drug delivery systems. In the present study, an attempt has been made to develop sustained release matrix tablets of Vildagliptin using hydrophilic polymers like HPMC (k15M, K100M) and Carbapol by using wet granulation method. Dissolution study was done by using type-II dissolution apparatus gave good results with combination of HPMC K100 M and Carbapol. Drug release from the formulation follows zero order, first order, Higuchi's equation, and korsemeyer's equation

Background: Thyroid dysfunction is a common disorder in pregnancy along with anemia. But no study has evaluated the association between them. To estimate the prevalence of thyroid dysfunction and its association with anemia types in pregnant women during 1st trimester. Methods: Three hundred and eighty pregnant women with <12 weeks of gestational age were selected for the study with no history of thyroid dysfunction and anemia. All the pregnant women were classified into A, euthyroid and B, thyroid dysfunction groups. The B group was again subdivided into hypothyroid, subclinical hypothyroid (SCH), hyperthyroid according to nature of dysfunction. 5 ml of blood sample was collected from all subjects to analyse thyroid hormones and erythrocyte indices. Results: Out of 380 subjects, euthyroid was found to be 77.9%, and rest 22.1% were with thyroid dysfunction. Out of 84 thyroid dysfunction, hypothyroid was found to be 7.9%, SCH 13.9% and hyperthyroid was 0.3%. Out of 296 euthyroid women, anemia was identified in 97 pregnant women (32.8%) whereas in thyroid dysfunction women it was 43 women out of 84 (51.2%) which is a statistically significant. Significantly higher frequency of microcytic hypochromic anemia and normocytic normochromic anemia types were also found in thyroid dysfunction groups compared to euthyroid group (p<0.05). However, no significance between the thyroid dysfunction groups, Statistically significant difference was observed in the Hb concentration, RBC count, MCV, MCH and PCV between euthyroid and different thyroid dysfunction conditions (p<0.05). A statistically significant positive correlation was found between fT4 and erythrocyte indices. Conclusions: As fT4 and TSH correlated with erythrocyte indices, it is advisable to screen for thyroid dysfunction and vice versa so as to prevent the complications associated with anemia and thyroid dysfunction

Objective: The present study is based on a novel approach of validated breath-holding technique and efficiency of SpO2 in the adverse COVID-19 outcomes and comparison with normal subjects. Methods: It is a prospective observational study conducted in residential/private nursing colleges, St. Luke’s School and College of Nursing and Smt. Vijaya Luke’s College of Nursing, Visakhapatnam during the period July 2021. Fifty-three student nurses affected with mild COVID-19, 35 student nurses affected with moderate COVID-19, aged 18–23 years were enrolled after taking thorough history about COVID-19 that is after 2 months of complete recovery. They were classified based on the symptom history in which the subjects without symptoms or mild symptoms were taken as mildly affected, whereas subjects with severe symptoms with mild fluctuations in SpO2 who didn’t require hospitalization were classified as moderately affected. The study included 109 normal control cases who are never affected with COVID-19 viral infection. In all the subjects, the oxygen saturation was measured using pulse oxymeter and their Breath holding times were also measured using standard protocols. Results: The mean value of BHT was significantly reduced from normal 16.7339±3.4 to 12.8571±5.1 (p<0.05) in moderate cases. When oxygen saturation levels were compared before and after the breath holding in normal, mild and moderate cases the results were significant. However, when the oxygen saturation levels were compared between normal and mild COVID-19 cases the values were insignificant (p=0.4) and at the same time when the oxygen saturation levels were compared between normal and moderate COVID-19 cases the values were significant (p=0.0001). Conclusion: According to the findings, breath-holding does not need greater energy expenditure or cardiac output, and it eliminates walking and the related contamination of bystanders as occurring with pulse oximeter. Breath holding time is a determinant of respiratory capacity, when used as parameter helps in assessing the progression of lung injury, it gives an idea about respiratory fitness especially in this COVID era. Breath holding time and fluctuations in SpO2 when used conjointly we can assess degree of lung damage so that further treatment such as the continuity of medication, practicing of breathing exercises with or without medical treatment can be planned. This simple non-invasive tool can be used for the self-assessment of improvement in post-Covid patients. Future validation studies validate this hypothesis, measurement of these basic, innovative surrogates requires minimum inventory (i.e., a means to record oximetry and a timing device) and could feasibly provide a useful way to evaluate risks of future deterioration under under-resourced conditions

QUERY PARADIGM TO EXTRACT MOST RELEVANT OBJECTS BY GIVEN SET OF TAGS

Get PDF
Nonetheless, in lots of application scenarios, users cannot precisely formulate their keywords and rather choose to choose them from some candidate keyword sets. Existing studies mainly focus regarding how to efficiently discover the top-k result set given a spatio-textual query. Spatio-textual queries retrieve probably the most similar objects regarding confirmed location along with a keyword set. Driven by these applications, we advise a manuscript query paradigm, namely reverse keyword look for spatio-textual top-k queries (RST Q). Furthermore, in information browsing applications, it's helpful to focus on the objects using the tags to which the objects have higher rankings. It returns the keywords to which a target object is a spatio-textual top-k result. Extensive experimental evaluation demonstrates the efficiency in our suggested query techniques when it comes to both computational cost and that to cost. By being able to access our prime-level nodes of KcR-tree, we are able to estimate the rankings from the target object without being able to access the particular objects. To efficiently process the brand new query, we devise a manuscript hybrid index KcR-tree to keep and summarize the spatial and textual information of objects
