    A Low Power, Battery Operated Precision Portable Thermal Chamber With Double Thermoelectric Module

    A low-power thermal chamber with a volume of only 2.5 liters capable of reaching temperatures over the -5°C to 70°C range was designed and constructed. Two small 12 V batteries are used as the power supply for the complete system. Thermoelectric modules were used as actuators since their size and performance characteristics allow the portability and precise temperature control.     Study of inclusive semileptonic B meson decays

    Using the ARGUS detector at the e+e−e^+e^− storage ring DORIS-II, we have measured the inclusive semileptonic decays of B-mesons into electrons and muons. The data originate from 220.5 events/pb on the ϒ(4S)ϒ(4S) resonance. We find BR (B→e+veX=(10.3±0.6±0.2)(B→e^+v_eX = (10.3 ± 0.6 ± 0.2)% and BR (B→Ό+vÎŒX)=(10.0±0.6±0.2)(B→Ό^+v_ÎŒX) = (10.0 ± 0.6 ± 0.2)% using the model of Altarelli et al. for extrapolating over all lepton momenta, and BR (B→e+veX)=(9.9±0.6)(B→e^+v_eX) = (9.9±0.6)%, BR(B→Ό^+v_ÎŒX) = (9.7±0.6)% using the model of Grinstein et al. For semileptonic decays into baryons, we obtain an upper limit of BR(B→pe+vX)<0.16(B→pe^+vX)<0.16%(90%CL)
