Construção de saberes na extensão universitária : relato de experiência da confecção de história em quadrinhos para combate a Covid-19 com crianças e adolescentes em vulnerabilidade social

Faced with the COVID-19 pandemic, it became necessary to disseminate knowledge capable of preventing and protecting the health of the population. In this sense, aiming to reach vulnerable contexts such as children and adolescents from the Salvador Penitentiary Complex's Shelter House and considering the singularities of the children and youth public, the Comic Book (HQ) was the ludic tool selected to promote knowledge for this age group. Thus, bringing students closer to the reality experienced by this public provides theoretical support for the professional training process, in order to minimize the health problems presented. Therefore, this article aims to report the experience of students of the nursing course in the development of university extension activities in the making of comics for the prevention of COVID-19 among children and adolescents in a context of social vulnerability. This is a descriptive study, of the experience report type, referring to the activities developed in the extension project entitled “Remote workshop for the prevention of COVID-19 with children and adolescents in the Home of the Penitentiary Complex”. The realization of this university extension provoked reflection on a topic of international importance and the strategies to effectively approach it for children and adolescents. The constructed comics are a means of mitigating vulnerabilities and inequities imposed on children in institutional shelter. Thus, the production of comics constitutes an advance in health education activities with children and adolescents, since it is a technology that can enhance the teaching-learning process.Diante da pandemia da COVID-19, tornou-se necessário disseminar saberes capazes de prevenir e proteger a saúde da população. Nesse sentido, visando alcançar contextos vulneráveis como de crianças e adolescentes da Casa de Acolhimento do Complexo Penitenciário de Salvador (BA) e considerando as singularidades do público infantojuvenil, a História em Quadrinhos (HQ) foi a ferramenta lúdica selecionada para promover conhecimentos para essa faixa etária. Sendo assim, a aproximação do discente com a realidade vivenciada por este público proporciona subsídios teóricos para o processo de capacitação profissional, no sentido de minimizar os problemas de saúde apresentados. Portanto, este artigo tem como objetivo relatar a experiência de discentes do curso de enfermagem no desenvolvimento das atividades de extensão universitária na confecção de HQs para prevenção da COVID-19 entre crianças e adolescentes em contexto de vulnerabilidade social. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, do tipo relato de experiência, referente às atividades desenvolvidas no projeto de extensão intitulado “Oficina remota para prevenção da COVID-19 com crianças e adolescentes na Casa de Acolhimento do Complexo Penitenciário”. A realização desta extensão universitária provocou a reflexão sobre um tema de importância internacional e as estratégias para abordá-lo de forma efetiva para o público infantojuvenil. As HQs construídas são um meio de mitigar vulnerabilidades e inequidades impostas às crianças em situação de abrigo institucional. Assim, a produção de HQs configura um avanço nas atividades de educação em saúde com crianças e adolescentes, uma vez que se trata de uma tecnologia que pode potencializar o processo ensino-aprendizagem

Construção de História em Quadrinho Sobre Imunização como Tecnologia Leve Acerca da Prevenção a Covid-19 em Crianças e Adolescentes: Relato de Experiência

O presente artigo trata-se de um relato de experiência que tem como objetivo promover educaçãoem saúde, com a utilização de tecnologia leve para crianças e adolescentes. As tecnologias levespodem proporcionar a comunicação, a relação interpessoal, bem como a criação de vínculos.Diante disso, esse trabalho descreve as percepções de discentes de enfermagem na criação deuma História em Quadrinhos (HQ), uma tecnologia leve, para levar informações sobre prevençãoda COVID-19 a crianças e adolescentes de uma Casa de Acolhimento no Contexto Prisional.Portanto, evidencia-se que a produção desta HQ, além de estimular e promover umaaproximação do público infanto-juvenil com o tema de uma forma dinâmica, simples e lúdica,proporcionou às autoras situações crítico-reflexivas sobre o uso das tecnologias leves naeducação em saúde

NEOTROPICAL CARNIVORES: a data set on carnivore distribution in the Neotropics

Mammalian carnivores are considered a key group in maintaining ecological health and can indicate potential ecological integrity in landscapes where they occur. Carnivores also hold high conservation value and their habitat requirements can guide management and conservation plans. The order Carnivora has 84 species from 8 families in the Neotropical region: Canidae; Felidae; Mephitidae; Mustelidae; Otariidae; Phocidae; Procyonidae; and Ursidae. Herein, we include published and unpublished data on native terrestrial Neotropical carnivores (Canidae; Felidae; Mephitidae; Mustelidae; Procyonidae; and Ursidae). NEOTROPICAL CARNIVORES is a publicly available data set that includes 99,605 data entries from 35,511 unique georeferenced coordinates. Detection/non-detection and quantitative data were obtained from 1818 to 2018 by researchers, governmental agencies, non-governmental organizations, and private consultants. Data were collected using several methods including camera trapping, museum collections, roadkill, line transect, and opportunistic records. Literature (peer-reviewed and grey literature) from Portuguese, Spanish and English were incorporated in this compilation. Most of the data set consists of detection data entries (n = 79,343; 79.7%) but also includes non-detection data (n = 20,262; 20.3%). Of those, 43.3% also include count data (n = 43,151). The information available in NEOTROPICAL CARNIVORES will contribute to macroecological, ecological, and conservation questions in multiple spatio-temporal perspectives. As carnivores play key roles in trophic interactions, a better understanding of their distribution and habitat requirements are essential to establish conservation management plans and safeguard the future ecological health of Neotropical ecosystems. Our data paper, combined with other large-scale data sets, has great potential to clarify species distribution and related ecological processes within the Neotropics.
