Synthesis of Benzylidene and Azo Containing Polymers for Photophisical Application
In the present work, the polymers built with the use of the free radical polymerization of methacrylic monomers incorporating an azobenzene side-group and monomers with benzylidene fragments have been synthesized. The polymerization was carried out in DMF with AIBN as initiator. The products of polymerization were characterized by HNMR. The results of investigations of photochemical and optical activities of the corresponding polymers are presented
Synthesis, photophysical and photochemical properties of oxazolone derivatives
Acyloxyphenyl derivatives of oxazolone, which have tree photo active centers, were synthesized and their physicochemical properties are determined by NMR, absorption, fluorescence excitation and emission spectroscopies. The semi-empirical calculations carried out according with the theory of the PM3/Cl level has shown, that at an irradiating of their solutions by UV-light give no possibilities of the photo-Fries reaction. The calculated values are in a good accordance with the experimental ones

Nonlinear optical properties of thiazolidinone derivatives
Thiazolidinone derivatives were synthesized and their physicochemical properties are determined by absorption, H NMR spectroscopies. The third order nonlinear optical properties of thiazolidinone containing compounds were investigated in solutions using degenerate four wave mixing (DFWM) method at 532 nm

Third-order nonlinear optical response of push-pull azobenzene polymers
The nonlinear optical response of a series of azo-containing side-chain polymers is investigated using Z-scan technique, employing 35 ps and 4 ns laser pulses, at 532 nm. The systems were found to exhibit strong nonlinear optical response, dominated by nonlinear refraction. In all cases, the nonlinear absorption and refraction have been determined and are compared with those of disperse red 1 considered as reference. The corresponding third-order susceptibilities chi((3)) were determined to be as large as 10 (7) and 10 (5) esu under ps and ns laser excitation, respectively. Finally, the results are discussed and compared with other reported data
Optical properties of oxazalone derivatives with and without DNA-CTMA
The oxazalone derivatives were synthesized and their optical properties were studied and the results are presented. Also the complex of DNA with a surfactant CTMA (DNA-CTMA) was also functionalized with the synthesized oxazalone derivatives. The third order nonlinear optical susceptibilities of studied compounds were investigated in solutions using the degenerate four wave mixing (DFWM) method at 532 nm wavelength. We found that the values of third order nonlinear optical susceptibilities (chi(13))) for oxazalone derivatives with DNA-CTMA are higher than for pure oxazalone derivatives. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. Investigation of the Nonlinear Optical Response in Polymeric Azoester Systems
The second and third-order nonlinear optical properties of novel push-pull azobenzene polymers have been investigated using 30 ps laser pulses at 1064 nm. The study of the chromophores has been done before and after corona poling and by employing different polarizations. Very strong nonlinear response, which was different for every investigated system has been found due to enhanced charge transfer within the molecules
