The Red Lodge and Silver Star chromite deposits of Montana have stimulated much interest during periods of war. The Red Lodge deposit is 25 miles southwest of Red Lodge which is also the nearest railroad point. Several workings are scattered throughout the area, exposing lense-like ore bodies averaging 33% chrome oxide. Silver Star is a much smaller deposit 5 miles west of Silver Star, Montana, which is its nearest railroad point. Lenses of chromite are exposed by pits and trenches, which average approximately 36% chromic oxide

It is refreshing to find among the myriad of volumes on trial practice published in recent years one which neither assumes that cases are tried in an emotional vacuum, where nothing but concrete facts and abstract propositions of law can influence the jury, nor deteriorates into a personal reminiscence on the part of the author of past court-room victories with the simple instruction to the reader to go and do likewise. Obviously a widely experienced courtroom practitioner, Mr.Gazan seldom utilizes that background directly for purposes of illustration; rather he draws from it general propositions applicable to courtroom procedure, which he then buttresses where necessary with citations to reported decisions. And to this he adds another ingredient found all too seldom in books of this type--a simple, straightforward, readable style which is easily understood and easily remembered

The eventization of leisure and the strange death of alternative Leeds

The communicative potential of city spaces as leisure spaces is a central assumption of political activism and the creation of alternative, counter-cultural and subcultural scenes. However, such potential for city spaces is limited by the gentrification, privatization and eventization of city centres in the wake of wider societal and cultural struggles over leisure, work and identity formation. In this paper, we present research on alternative scenes in the city of Leeds to argue that the eventization of the city centre has led to a marginalization and of alternative scenes on the fringes of the city. Such marginalization has not caused the death of alternative Leeds or political activism associated with those scenes—but it has changed the leisure spaces (physical, political and social) in which alternative scenes contest the mainstream
