Argumentacja w edukacji: postulaty badań edukacyjnych w polskiej szkole argumentacji

    Get PDF

A possibilities-based account of practical logic.Andrzej Kisielewicz’s logic without edgesIn this paper I comment on the theses presented in Andrzej Kisielewicz’s book entitled Logic and Argumentation. A Practical Course in Critical Thinking. The author argues that the current way of teaching practical logic is not good, because it is too much based on formal logic. It should be replaced by a comprehensive analysis of reasonable possibilities. I demonstrate that Kisielewicz’s vision of changing the way in which practical logic is taught is a good one. I claim that Kisielewicz proposed a kind of ontologization of logic. I argue that teaching logic and critical thinking need to be complemented by creative thinking techniques. I do not agree with the criticism of traditional logic and formal logic made by Kisielewicz and point out that common sense — so highly valued by Kisielewicz — is deceptive and does not encourage critical thinking. A possibilities-based account of practical logic.Andrzej Kisielewicz’s logic without edgesIn this paper I comment on the theses presented in Andrzej Kisielewicz’s book entitled Logic and Argumentation. The Measuring of PartsPhilosophers such as Husserl, Twardowski, Ingarden and others distinguished different types of parts of an object such as possible parts, independent/dependent parts, parts of different order and the extent of the impact of some parts, but also some of these philosophers recognize unity and identity of an object as it’s parts. In this article we propose to identify the different types of parts as a different measures defined on the whole which consists of these parts. We propose to use for this purpose mathematical measure theory and the issue of measurement in quantum mechanics — as examples of good practice in the matter of measuring. Ontological problem of measurement has not been so far sufficiently developed. Our work is aimed at raising some insights which may eventually contribute to the formulation of the precise ontological theory of the measurement of parts of some whole. Sokratesowa obrona filozofii. O ospałych i zmęczonych filozofach oraz rozkosznej, żywej i spontanicznej filozofii (Socrates’ defence of philosophy. About the sluggish and tired philosophers and the pleasurable, lively and spontaneous philosophy)

Philosophers have no time. They are tired with philosophising. They doze off or even die of fatigue over yet another review, opinion, article, translation of works of an English-speaking philosophical genius, publishing and editing of a book. They are exhausted by the obligatory teaching, bored with listening to conference papers, depressed by defences of post-doctoral theses, hopeless against plagiarism, out-of-breath chasing credits, worn out by English articles, crumpled and ill-treated by institutions, tired with maintaining and co-creating them, jaded by the speed of information transfer, weakened by the absence of lively thought, knackered by the number of graduates and languid due to their quality, depressed by discord, exhausted by the continuous game of getting lost and finding oneself in science and the Academy. In this ruffle, shabbiness and depletion they undertake with difficulty yet another fight for philosophy, in which they often represent the lost cause and happen to be merciless to each other, sometimes they give up and even moan. Their tiredness is accompanied by heavy steps and sluggishness. Barely alive they keep on living. Somewhere they find the energy, they live for something, serve something. In the article, following the smartest of philosophers, Socrates, and his defence speech, the speech in defence of his life, we explain where the philosophers find the energy, what they live for and what, often in contradiction to their own declarations, they serve

Ojcobójcza i nieco stronnicza diagnoza stanu i uwarunkowań rozwoju ontologii w Polsce

Father-killing and a biased diagnosis of the state and determinantsof the development of ontology in Poland The paper presents a subjective diagnosis of the state of development of ontology in Poland, as well as proposals of actions which may contribute to the intensification of ontological research in Poland. I point out the strengths of Polish ontology, but also some of its imperfections. As a weakness, I consider there to be too much focused on conservative and safe historical research and a lack of contact with modern science in particular with the strict and natural sciences. As a strength, I consider there that there is a relatively large group of Polish philosophers and scholars working creatively in ontology. I mention almost 30 important achievements and contributions of Polish ontology. I point out three Polish organizational initiatives: the Copernicus Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, the Laboratory for AgriFood Ontology and the International Center for Formal Ontology. I recommend creating a virtual base of Polish ontology; to publish the papers in leading international journals; a return to classic ontological issues, and not restricting ontological methods of analytic ontology; setting up a mentoring process due to the mentor-student relationship crisis; the abolition of non-professional Polish philosophical journals and the dissemination of an international scientific interchange internships, visits, postdocs and so on at every stage of an academic career. Father-killing and a biased diagnosis of the state and determinantsof the development of ontology in Poland The paper presents a subjective diagnosis of the state of development of ontology in Poland, as well as proposals of actions which may contribute to the intensification of ontological research in Poland. O kombinacyjnej topo-ontologii

Combination topo-ontologyPerzanowski’s combination ontologic is the ontology of elements and their combinations. Perzanowski, after Leibniz, concluded that combinations are defined by internal features of elements which decide about the structure of connections between the elements, i.e. whether one element is connected with another depends on the elements’ inside. We present a view that the structure of combination depends in the first place on structural, topological and a priori forms and then it can be determined by the features of elements. We suggest enriching the structure of ontological universe by its topologisation. The presented examples of ontological worlds prove that this is sensible and necessary. While modelling the ontological universe with the use of Hilbert’s cube we show the relations between the notion of dimension and the notions of situation and possible world. We also suggest new interpretation of ontological rationalism.Combination topo-ontologyPerzanowski’s combination ontologic is the ontology of elements and their combinations.
