The course of humanity has been intensely interrupted by the sudden eruption of COVID-19 virus. The latter has turned human life upside down and put an end to glorious decades of peace, prosperity, enjoyment and tourism. Ever since the first cases of the virus were recorded, many, if not all, nations adopted comprehensive lockdowns to control the influx of possible infected people and prevent the transmission of infection among people and its spread amidst society. Due to the novelty of what turned out to be a global pandemic and its accompanying unprecedented circumstances, the Moroccan government waged a massive information campaign utilizing all possible radio, television and social media networks attempting to attain a wide reach of its far-flung citizens. Some communication channels, such as 2M, shifted to local dialects like Moroccan Arabic (MA) and Amazigh to reach and forewarn even the illiterate cohorts. Immigrant diaspora in different parts of the world, in China, the cradle of the virus, Europe and America, joined in and reinforced the governmental immense communication campaign by sharing their virus experiences with relatives and friends via videos, audio materials and texts that went viral over social media avenues. This bulky information campaign was not without any effect. This is a study that investigates into the potential upshots of this sustained, incessant and corroborated media coverage of Covid19 pandemic on a random sample of 113 informants composed of shop keepers, street vendors and other laymen we randomly met in Agadir’s streets, markets and gardens upon the alleviation of the shutdown restrictions in June 2020. The interviewees brought up ample effects ranging from the emergence of novel greeting manners, ascending distrustfulness, health consciousness, cautiousness, massive fear as well as re-organization of spending and saving priorities. Likewise, the pandemic seems to have shaken people’s erstwhile trust and confidence in scientific and technological developments that became pretty much vulnerable before wide-ranging, unremitting and consistent media coverage of some issues, especially if the issue turned out to be profitable to some agency/ies

Make me an Offer: Forward and Reverse Auctioning Problems in the Tourism Industry

Most tourist destinations are facing regular and consistent seasonality with significant economic and social impacts. This phenomenon is more pronounced in the post-covid era, where demand for travel has increased but unevenly among different geographic areas. To counter these problems that both customers and hoteliers are facing, we have developed two auctioning systems that allow hoteliers of lower popularity tier areas or during low season periods to auction their rooms in what we call a forward auction model, and also allows customers to initiate a bidding process whereby hoteliers in an area may make offers to the customer for their rooms, in what constitutes a reverse auction model initiated by the customer, similar to the bidding concept of priceline.com. We develop mathematical programming models that define explicitly both types of auctions, and show that in each type, there are significant benefits to be gained both on the side of the hotelier as well as on the side of the customer. We discuss algorithmic techniques for the approximate solution of these optimization problems, and present results using exact optimization solvers to solve them to guaranteed optimality. These techniques could be beneficial to both customer and hotelier reducing seasonality during middle and low season and providing the customer with attractive offers.Comment: 21 pages, 7 figure

Η παρούσα εργασία θα ολοκληρωθεί με κάποια θεατρικά παιχνίδια και τα αποτελέσματα αυτών σε μαθητές νηπιαγωγείου όπου στο παράρτημα θα παραθέσουμε φωτογραφίες από τα αποτελέσματα τους.Τhe topic of this thesis is "Creative writing in theater and education with field research in Kindergarten students", the topic in question is topical because in contemporary society theater is a useful educational asset, which can build consciousness and personalilities. There are elements in common between theater in education and creative writing which we will clarify in the creative part through practical work in Creative writing and theater which were carried out for kindergarten students with the aim of creating a new perception of the world where didacticism will not fit but the education that originates within them as well as instill in them a passion for creative writing and theater. In the first part Creative writing and theater in education will be presented. Firstly, an extensive reference to the concept of Creative writing will be made and subsequently we will present its usefulness in preschool education and more specifically at the kindergarten age, as well as the significant role that the kindergarten teacher-animator has for his dissemination and eventually the relationship of Creative writing with literary reading will be presented. Thereinafter, the second chapter will concern the theater as well as its connection with education. More specifically, in the beginning, the functionality of theater in education will be presented, along with the benefits and purposes of theatrical play from the first grades of kindergarten, which is a dreamlike and tempting method of getting to know the child from an early age through knowledge, art and life, as theatrical play is a means of communication as well as cultivation of human relationships and also contributes to child's emotional development. In addition, it is a pedagogical function which gives children the opportunity of learning how to do exist and work in the group based on their needs, activating their imagination. Afterwards, there will be a reference to the role of the animator not only in the theatrical play but also to the dramatics in education in general terms as well as in educational drama (definition, what the role is, etc.). At the end of the second chapter, it will be presented how Theater and Creative Writing, which have a lot in common, can be combined. On completing the second part, which is also the practical part, we will record some elementary creative writing activities that were successfully carried out for my students and their results, as well as some games called: "fairytale cooking" in which the children, according to some fairy tales, "cook" with utensils for imagination, thoughts, emotions, with materials such as playing, interaction, rhythm, dynamic images, role-playing, improvisations, dramatisations. The current assignment will be finalised with some theatrical games along with their results? Outcomes for kindergarten students. Last but not least, there will be a list of photos accompanying their results/outcomes in the appendix

    Get PDF

DIGITAL MARKETING PRACTICES IN MOROCCAN SMES (SMALL AND MEDIUM SIZED ENTERPRISES): A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW

    Get PDF
The digital era offers Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) opportunities to grow and even challenge larger companies. Yet, it is observed by scholars that SMEs are reluctant to implement new technology tools, which leads us to question the decisive factors to either adopt or not digital marketing practices. Therefore, this paper aims to systematically explore literature on digital marketing’s components since it encompasses a large area of practice. The research goal is to understand the position and corporate behavior regarding the adoption of this discipline in global SMEs with a closer look at the Moroccan context. The methodology followed is a qualitative documentary research that consists of data collection, references selection, and thorough analysis. This process consists of two phases. The first phase involves conducting an exploratory systematic literature review to refine the generated results using keywords, abstracts, and titles. The documents were screened based on specified inclusion and exclusion criteria to eliminate irrelevant topics. The second phase involves conducting an in-depth extended systematic literature review to thoroughly analyze the content of the references by reading and comprehending the full texts. This research work reveals that e-marketing positively influences SMEs. Social media marketing is disclosed to be the most adopted form in SMEs. However, this literature review uncovered conflicting opinions regarding the implementation of e-marketing in SMEs. Some sources highlighted limitations like resource constraints, while others saw potential in this area as technology becomes increasingly accessible. The perspective of this paper is to conduct an exploratory qualitative research, followed by a confirmatory quantitative research within Moroccan SMEs to identify factors influencing them to adopt social media marketing. This article is structured according to IMRaD framework. It outlines an introduction for context and research problem, followed by research methodology, review of literature, results and discussion, and finally a conclusion
