    Kampas rem merupakan salah satu komponen yang sangat vital dalam sebuah kendaraan yang berfungsi memperlambat bahkan menghetikan kecepatan pada saat terjadi ancaman kecelakaan akibat laju kendaraan yang tidak terkontrol oleh pengendara. Kampas rem yang beredar di pasaran umumnya terbuat dari bahan asbestos yang memiliki kekurangan diantaranya tidak ramah lingkungan. Tujuan dari pelaksanaan bimbingan teknis pembuatan kampas cakram sepeda motor adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada siswa Jurusan Otomotif SMK 2 Kendari dan Mahasiswa D3 Teknik Mesin Program Pendidikan Vokasi, tentang bagaimana memanfaatkan bahan serat dan tempurung kelapa sebagai bahan alternatif kampas rem cakram. Pengabdian ini juga mendorong kreativitas serta minat berusaha siswa dan mahasiswa dalam memanfaatkan bahan alam tempurung kelapa sebagai bahan kampas rem pada kendaraan khususnya kampas rem sepeda motor yang secara berkala harus diganti dengan yang baru. Mitra kegiatan ini adalah bengkel Shaqueela Barakati Kelurahan Anduonohu. Melalui program pengabdian ini diharapkan terwujudnya wirausaha baru yang inovatif, kreatif dan berdaya saing dalam meningkatkan kompetensi secara mandiri.     The availability of crucible furnaces is still limited, so the price in the market is relatively expensive, even though this tool is very important, especially in educational institutions as media for the practice of metal casting. The purpose of this study is to design, build and test the work of a crucible furnace that utilizes used cylinders by using LPG gas heat sources. The design of the furnace uses the autodesk inventor application while the manufacture uses machine tools. Technical data from this crucible furnace is that the body is made from used gas cylinders with an outer diameter of 280 mm, an inner diameter of 140 mm and a height of 490 mm. In the combustion chamber installed a 25.4 mm diameter gas pipeline with a length of 370.5 mm and an air channel diameter of 50.8 mm with a length of 367 mm. Kowi is made of steel with a 110 mm dimension and a height of 280 mm. The results of trials with aluminum smelting show that the crucible furnace is capable of melting 5 kg aluminum for 60 minutes with fuel consumption of 3 kg gas. The maximum temperature that can be reached 1367 oC for 15 minutes by a crucible furnace.Keywords: design, manufacture, furnace trial

    Natural composites are one of the smart materials that have the opportunity to replace the use of synthetic composites. and metal materials. Layered structural composites provide nearly uniform properties on all sides. The purpose of this study was to determine the mechanical properties of tensile, compressive and impact on the behavior of bamboo fiber polymer composites with a layered structure. This research method is experimental where the specimens are made in 2 quasine isotropic configuration configurations namely [+60/0/-60] and [+45/0/-45] with layer thicknesses of 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm, respectively. and 2.0mm. The highest tensile strength is 8.173 N/mm2 in the [+60/0/-60] arrangement and the lowest is 6.196 N/mm2 in the [+45/0/-45] arrangement. The highest impact strength is 34.259 kJ/mm2 in the [+45/0/-45] array configuration and the lowest tensile strength is 10.775 kJ/mm2 in the [+60/0/-60] array configuration. The highest compressive strength is 15.856 N/mm2 in the configuration [+60/0/-60] arrangement and the lowest compressive strength is N/mm2 in the configuration [+45/0/-45]. The [+60/0/-60] array configuration has better mechanical properties than the [+45/0/-45] configuration.     Generation of Monodispersed Spherical Thermosensitive Gels and Their Swelling and Shrinking Behaviors in Aqueous Polymeric Solutions

    This study investigates the factors affecting the formation of monodispersed thermosensitive gels and the parameters influencing the movement of gel particles containing N-isopropyl acrylamide in an aqueous polymeric solution in an upper heating system. Monodispersed thermosensitive gels were generated, and their swelling and shrinking behaviors were observed. The results revealed that continuous-phase flow rate and kinematic viscosity were most influential on the size of the monodispersed thermosensitive gels, which exhibited swelling and shrinking at both low and high temperatures of the polymeric aqueous solution, respectively, and demonstrated negative thermal expansion. In a low-temperature solution, the buoyancy force acting on the gel particles exceeded the gravitational force, because of which the size of the gels increased and the gels to ascended. At higher temperatures, the gels shrank because the gravitational force outweighed the buoyancy force, causing the gels to descend. The gels with a larger diameter tended to have longer durations of vertical movements within the aqueous polymeric solution than the smaller-sized gels; moreover, equilibrium conditions were quickly achieved by the smaller gels

    Boiler merupakan salah satu komponen yang sangat penting pada instalasi PLTU. Efisiensi boiler secara tidak langsung menggambarkan efisiensi PLTU secara keseluruhan. Salah satu faktor yang menurunkan kinerja boiler adalah tingginya pembentukan akumulasi deposit ash (fouling dan slagging). Kajian ini mengidentifikasi pembentukan fouling dan slaging serta pengaruhnya terhadap kinerja boiler pada PLTU Moramo Kabupaten Konawe Selatan Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara. Sebagai bahan bakar PLTU Moramo menggunakan batubara jenis lignit dengan nilai gross Calorie Value yang berbeda. Pada kajian ini digunakan 3 (tiga) sampel batubara yang memiliki sertifikat uji laboratorium yang digunakan pada saat boiler beroperasi. Data operasional boiler diperoleh dari ruang Distributed Control System (DCS) monitor. Efisiensi boiler dihitung menggunakan metode tidak langsung (heat loss method). Dari perhitungan indeks fouling ketiga sampel batubara menunjukkan bahwa potensi terbentuknya fouling berada pada kategori rendah hingga menengah, sedangkan perhitungan indeks slagging ketiga sampel batubara yang digunakan PLTU Moramo berada pada resiko menengah, dengan nilai indeks slagging: 2250≤Rs*≤2450. Efisiensi boiler rata – rata untuk pengujian hari kedua (batu bara Y) lebih tinggi dibandingkan dua sampel lainnya yakni 79.72%.

    The Amohalo rice field area is one of the rice fields in the Baruga Village, Baruga District, Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The people of the Amohalo rice field area RT 09 RW 08, Baruga Village, generally make a living as rice farmers. In addition to making a living as a farmer, the Amohalo community in Baruga Village also has livestock such as chickens and cows. The local community does not utilize waste in the form of costs from a relatively abundant amount. Applying appropriate technology in an integrated manner to compost can provide benefits as organic fertilizer for plants. Community Service Program Integrated Lecturers Thematic KKN is conducted for one month, August-September 2021. This program is carried out in several stages of implementation, namely: (1) the Preparation stage for recruitment, coordination with related parties and correspondence, assistance needs, and preparation of instruments, (2) The stage of socialization of the determination and place of socialization, as well as a debriefing of students participating in the Thematic KKN, (3) The implementation phase includes counseling and training, technical guidance, and reporting. The results achieved in this Thematic Community Service Program are an increase in public knowledge and understanding of agricultural and livestock waste by processing it into compost to increase farmer productivity and reduce the impact of livestock by-products
