Measurement of the effective weak mixing angle at the CEPC
We present a study of the measurement of the effective weak mixing angle
parameter (\sin^2\theta_{\text{eff}}^{\text{\ell}}) at the Circular
Electron Positron Collider (CEPC). As a fundamental physics parameter,
\sin^2\theta_{\text{eff}}^{\text{\ell}} plays a key role not only in the
global test of the standard model electroweak sector, but also in constraining
the potential beyond standard model new physics at high energy frontier. CEPC
proposes a two year running period around the boson mass pole at high
instantaneous luminosity. It is demonstrated that with one month data taken,
the uncertainty of \sin^2\theta_{\text{eff}}^{\text{\ell}} at pole can
be reduced to 0.00001 both in the lepton and heavy quark final states, which is
much smaller than the theoretical uncertainty of the calculation with two-loop
radiative corrections. It will not only improve the precision with respect to
the measurements from previous colliders including the LEP, SLC, Tevatron and
LHC, but also provide direct comparison between different final states. In this
paper, we also study the measurement of
\sin^2\theta_{\text{eff}}^{\text{\ell}} at high mass region. With one month
data taken, the precision of \sin^2\theta_{\text{eff}}^{\text{\ell}}
measured at 130 GeV from quark final state is 0.00007, which will be an
important experimental observation on the energy-running effect of
\sin^2\theta_{\text{eff}}^{\text{\ell}}
An Analysis of the Cause of Privacy Paradox among SNS Users: take Chinese College Students as an Example
It has been proved that the privacy paradox does exist, yet the cause of the phenomenon remains vague. This article tries to analyze the [Inserted: s]cause of privacy paradox phenomenon on SNS (WeChat) among Chinese college students based on Privacy Calculus Theory and the TPB model and introduces two new factors: the credibility of SNS and the cost of protecting privacy. Through a questionnaire and interview survey,[Inserted: a ] our result shows that there is no significant correlation between users’ privacy concerns and the intention of privacy disclosure. While the more users trust the SNS platform, the more possibility they tend to disclose their private information[Inserted: te], and the cost of privacy protection can somehow weaken the relationship between the intention and the actual behavior. Therefore, [Inserted: ship]by increasing SNS\u27s credibility, users tend to disclose more personal information to SNS providers, which may improve the competitiveness of SNSs and contribute to their sustainable development
Case Report: Bronchial artery embolization and chemoradiotherapy for central squamous cell lung carcinoma with rapid regression
BackgroundInterventional embolization is a common treatment for hemoptysis, one of the complications of lung cancer. However, there are no official guidelines for the use of this method in antitumor therapy.Case DescriptionHerein, we describe a case of a patient who was pathologically diagnosed as central squamous cell lung cancer. The patient received chemotherapy, interventional embolization and radiotherapy successively. The tumor regressed rapidly within 48 hours of receipt of interventional embolization. Furthermore, the tumor decreased by more than 50% in size within 7 days during radiotherapy. Unfortunately, the patient has since developed lymph node metastases and remains under treatment.ConclusionsThus, finding the suitable blood vessel embolized may be a suitable option to reduce the local tumor load and can be considered as antitumor therapy in combination with other treatments. The patient’s theoretical hypoxia state after interventional therapy still produced a good tumor regression after radiotherapy. However, so far, no related studies have reported the changes of tumor immune microenvironment in human body after intervention and radiotherapy
Exemplar-based Video Colorization with Long-term Spatiotemporal Dependency
Exemplar-based video colorization is an essential technique for applications
like old movie restoration. Although recent methods perform well in still
scenes or scenes with regular movement, they always lack robustness in moving
scenes due to their weak ability in modeling long-term dependency both
spatially and temporally, leading to color fading, color discontinuity or other
artifacts. To solve this problem, we propose an exemplar-based video
colorization framework with long-term spatiotemporal dependency. To enhance the
long-term spatial dependency, a parallelized CNN-Transformer block and a double
head non-local operation are designed. The proposed CNN-Transformer block can
better incorporate long-term spatial dependency with local texture and
structural features, and the double head non-local operation further leverages
the performance of augmented feature. While for long-term temporal dependency
enhancement, we further introduce the novel linkage subnet. The linkage subnet
propagate motion information across adjacent frame blocks and help to maintain
temporal continuity. Experiments demonstrate that our model outperforms recent
state-of-the-art methods both quantitatively and qualitatively. Also, our model
can generate more colorful, realistic and stabilized results, especially for
scenes where objects change greatly and irregularly
Association Between Social Integration and Health Among Internal Migrants in ZhongShan, China
Internal migrants are the individuals who migrate between regions in one country. The number of internal migrants were estimated at 245 million in China in 2013. Results were inconsistent in the literature about the relationship between their health statuses and social integration. The main difference exists on how to measure the social integration and whether health statuses of internal migrants improve with years of residence. To complement the existing literature, this study measured social integration more comprehensively and estimated the internal migrants\u27 health statuses with varying years of residence, and explored the associations between the migrants\u27 social integration and health. We used the data from 2014 Internal Migrant Dynamic Monitoring Survey of Health and Family Planning in ZhongShan, China. Health status was measured from four aspects: self-reported health, subjective well-being, perception of stress, mental health. We measured social integration through four dimensions: economy, social communication, acculturation, and self-identity. The analyses used multiple linear regressions to examine the associations between selfreported health, subjective well-being, and perception of stress, mental health and social integration. The analytical sample included 1,999 households of the internal migrants and 1,997 local registered households, who were permanent residents in ZhongShan. Among the internal migrants, Adults in the labor force, who were aged 25 to 44 years old, accounted for 91.2% of the internal migrant population, while 74.6% of the registered population were in that age group. Median residential time among migrants was 2.8 (1.3-6.2) years, and 20.2% of them were migrating in the same Guangdong province. Except for mental health, other health statuses among migrants had significant differences compared with local registered population, e. g. self-reported health was better, but subjective well-being was worse. However, these health measurements were improved with more years of residence. Moreover, our results show that two aspects of social integration, economic integration and selfidentity, were significantly associated with health status. Subjective feeling of relative social status levels were more associated with health, which prompted the attention to social fairness and the creation of a fair and respectful culture. More interventions could be experimented, such as encouraging internal migrants to participate in community activities more actively, educating local registered residents to treat internal migrants more equally, and developing self-identity among internal migrants. Better social, economic, and cultural environment can benefit internal migrants\u27 health statuses
Measurement of the proton structure parameters in the forward-backward charge asymmetry
The forward-backward asymmetry () in the Drell-Yan process is sensitive to the proton structure
information. Such information has been factorized into well-defined proton
structure parameters which can be regarded as experimental observables. In this
paper, we extract the structure parameters from the distributions
reported by the CMS collaboration in collisions at TeV, and
by the D0 collaboration in collisions at TeV. It is
the first time that the unique parton information in the spectrum can
be decoupled from the electroweak calculation and measured as standalone
observables, which can be used as new data constraints in the global quantum
chromodynamics analysis of the parton distribution functions (PDFs). Although
the parton information in the and collisions are different, and
the precisions of the measured structure parameters are statistically limited,
the results from both the hadron colliders indicate that the down quark
contribution might be higher than the theoretical predictions with the current
PDFs at the relevant momentum fraction range
