    Effective Strategies on Program Kampus Mengajar Merdeka to Improve Students' Literacy and Numeracy Ability at SD Negri 106446 Bintang Meriah

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas program Kampus Merdeka Mengajar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi siswa di SD Negri 106446 Bintang Meriah. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah 11 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan purposive sampling. Program ini dilaksanakan selama 6 bulan. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, pre-test, dan post-test dengan menggunakan tes literasi dan numerasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi siswa yang signifikan setelah mengikuti program Kampus Mandiri Mengajar. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa program Kampus Mandiri Mengajar dapat menjadi strategi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi mahasiswa. Oleh karena itu, disarankan untuk menerapkan program ini di sekolah lain untuk meningkatkan prestasi akademik siswa. Kajian ini penting karena memberikan gambaran tentang efektifitas program Kampus Mengajar Merdeka dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi mahasiswa dalam konteks tertentu. Temuan penelitian ini dapat menginformasikan pengembangan program masa depan yang ditujukan untuk meningkatkan prestasi akademik di kalangan mahasiswa Indonesia

    THE POSITION OF DAUGHTERS IN THE DISTRIBUTION OF INHERITANCE IN BATAK TOBA AND MINANGKABAU COMMUNITIES

    The purpose of this research is to know how the distribution of inheritance and the position of daughters in the distribution of inheritance in Batak Toba and Minangkabau communities. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method. The data of this research consist of primary data and secondary data. Primary data was taken from the interview result of researcher with informant from both tribes, while secondary data was taken through literature study from journals, books and literature related to the problem under study. The results of this research show that in the Batak Toba community, daughters do not get a share of inheritance. The kinship system of the Batak Toba community embraces the patrilineal system, in which the lineage is withdrawn from the father's clan so that the inheritance belongs only to the sons. All heritages can only be passed on to the sons. But daughters can get the inheritance that is called holong ate. Holong ate is only given to married girls. The wealth gift is considered a gift of a father to his daughter. While in the Minangkabau community that embraces the matrilineal family system, where the familial system is withdrawn from the mother line, the heritage treasures are only given to daughters. Sons do not have high treasures and the low treasure (search treasure) is given to children and wives

    Performative Verb of Saluh Suh’s Incantation in Simalungun Ethnic: An Anthropolinguistic Study

    The aim of this research was to find the types and meanings of performative verbs of Saluh Suh’s incantation in Simalungun Ethnic. This research employed qualitative paradigm. As a qualitative research, this research used the descriptive methodology with interactive model. This research used two methods in collecting the data, they were direct participatory observation and in depth-open-ended interview. The interactive model was applied to analyse the data. Based on the research findings, two types and meanings of performative verbs were found in Saluh Suh incantation, i.e. illocution and perlocution. Of the two types, the perlocution was the more dominant type of performative verb. Besides, there were thirteen numbers of Illocution and perlocution type was found in Saluh Suh incantation. This research presents a new contribution to the government in term of local wisdom in Simalungun ethnic through language. It means that Simalungun language was a source of culture. More clearly, the performative verb in the sentences of Saluh suh incantation is a source of culture that can be used to be a power of language. In the future, Salauh Suh incantation can be used as a local wisdom to help mothers in normal childbirth. Then the significant contribution especially to Simalungun government is that it may become one of cultural properties, that needs to be preserved.     The Local Wisdom of the Mangarou Totok Spell Towards Natural Resources in the Simalungun Community: An Anthropolinguistic Study

    This research aimed to describe the treatment process and the local wisdom of the mangarou totok spell towards the natural resources in the Simalungun community. This research applied an anthropolinguistic approach. The parameters of the study were interconnection, value and sustainability. The data were collected by in-depth open-ended interviews and direct participatory observation. The qualitative paradigm with the interactive model was applied during this research. Based on the research findings, there are eight steps in doing the process of the mangarou totok spell. Some of the types of local wisdom found in this research were: health, politeness, preservation, cooperation, care for the environment, social loyalty, positive thinking, commitment, and compliments. This research presents the variety of contributions focused on the sustainability of natural resources, namely: sitabar banana midrib, betel leaves, gambier, lime, areca nut, and black pepper. This research presents a new contribution to the economic and social activities of the Simalungun community. The implementation of the mangarou totok spell through natural resources can increase the Simalungun community’s income especially for shamans and the cheap cost of medications for patients. The mangarou totok spell also improves social activities because it teaches society to help one another voluntarily through budget treatment. The Simalungun community has lived in harmony by implementing the mangarou totok spell, the implementation of which requires the society to coexist with nature which provides them with the materials that they need in practicing the mangarou totok spell.     THE IMPACT OF HARD SKILLS AND SOFT SKILLS ON HKBP NOMMENSEN UNIVERSITY'S KAMPUS MENGAJAR PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS

    Kampus Mengajar merupakan bagian dari program Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). Salah satu tujuan dari program MBKM yaitu meningkatkan kompetensi Hardskill dan Softskill. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dampak yang diperoleh mahasiswa peserta program Kampus Mengajar  terhadap kemampuan Hardskills-Sostskills. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini ialah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptive.  Data diperolah dengan melakukan survei menggunakan kuisioner online terhadap 140 mahasiswa FKIP universitas HKBP Nommensen Medan yang pernah mengikuti program Kampus Mengajar. Alat bantu yang dibuat untuk mengukur peningkatan soft skill dan hard skill mahasiswa yang mengikuti program MBKM dengan 5 indikator untuk hard skills yang dibahas dalam studi ini meliputi: (1) empati, (2) kemampuan bersosialisasi, (3) kemampuan menggunakan teknologi, (4) pemikiran kreatif dan inovatif, dan (5) kemampuan menulis dan mengadakan riset. Sementara untuk soft skill yaitu: (1) kemampuan komunikasi, (2) kemampuan menyelesaikan masalah, (3) kreativitas, (4) kemampuan menyelesaikan konflik, dan (5) kesadaran budaya lain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan 96% keterampilan siswa dengan indikator tertinggi kreativitas dan inovasi hidup dan soft skill dengan indikator tertinggi kreativitas berpikir 96,3%

    The Application Of Differentiated Instruction At The Second Grade Students Of Smp N 2 Bilah Hilir In Writing Descriptive Text

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan menulis teks deskriptif siswa dengan penerapan metode pembelajaran Differentiated Instruction pada kelas II SMPN 2 Bilah Hilir. Penulis menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 28 siswa. Penelitian ini membagi persiapan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi ke dalam empat siklus. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan menulis anak-anak meningkat. Rata-rata pre-test hingga post-test untuk siklus I dan II adalah analisis penulis terhadap penelitian ini. Pada pre-test, nilai rata-rata menulis siswa adalah 61,82, dan hanya 7,14% siswa yang lulus KKM. Kemudian, nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat setelah peneliti menerapkan metode pembelajaran Differentiated Instruction. Hal ini terlihat dari nilai rata-rata post-test siklus I yang mencapai 73,10, dan siswa yang tuntas KKM meningkat sebesar 53,57%. Penulis melakukan siklus berikutnya untuk mendapatkan peningkatan yang lebih signifikan. Pada siklus II, nilai rata-rata menulis siswa mencapai 80,21, dan siswa yang lulus KKM adalah 85,71%. Dari data nilai siswa dapat dikatakan bahwa penerapan metode pembelajaran Differentiated Instruction meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa dalam teks deskriptif. Nilai siswa lebih tinggi dari sebelumnya. Akhirnya, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan Differentiated Instruction sebagai metode pembelajaran untuk mengajarkan keterampilan menulis dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa dalam teks deskriptif, yang ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan mereka di setiap hasil tes

    An Analysis of Assertive Speech Act Used by Dr. Jun Chen Hsieh in English Interpretation for Tour Guide Virtual Exchange Course at Asia University

    This study aims to analyze assertive speech acts used by Dr. Jun Chen Hsieh during the teaching and learning process of exchange students. This study uses the theory of Searle and Vanderveken (1985:182-192) which explains the types of assertive speech acts. Qualitative descriptive is the method used in conducting this research, with data analysis techniques. The aims of this research are 1) to identify the dominant types of assertive speech acts used by Dr. Jun Chen Hsieh 2) To find out what the intended meaning is found in Dr. Jun Chen Hsieh. The findings show that there are 12 types and 153 utterances. Stating 60 times (39.21%), asserting 23 times (15.03%), reporting 22 times (14.37%), suggesting (9.80%), claiming 8 times (5.22%), concluding 7 times (4.57%), assuring 5 times (3.26%), confessing 5 times (3.26%), praising 4 times (2.61%), guessing 2 times (1.30 %). %), criticizing 1 time (0.65%), reminding 1 time (0.65%). Stating is the most dominant used by Dr. Jun Chen Hsieh during the teaching and learning process, stating can be the core of source information especially for the unfamiliar course and out of major course in the class. Stating be a way to intercultural students to get more information because it is possible to convey information clearly and effectively because it acts as a provider of information and explanations to students so that the use of stating can help students to enrich their knowledge as well as understand the message conveyed easily and does not lead to wrong interpretations. Then, the intended meaning found in these utterances is about grading policies, technical issues and roll call codes. This intended meaning funstions as take action behind the utterance, which is  students should concern and comprehent to do something behind the utterance. Keywords: Pragmatics, Speech Acts, Assertiv
