    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil observasi dan pengamatan yang telah peneliti lakukan yaitu rendahnya keaktifan dan hasil belajar matematika siswa. Salah satu alternatif pembelajaran yang diduga dapat mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pra eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian The Static Group Comparison Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII Putri Pondok Pesantren Sumatera Thawalib Parabek tahun pelajaran 2022/2023. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak (Random Sampling). Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII.15 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII.10 sebagai kelas kontrol. Data keaktifan belajar siswa diperoleh dari angket dan hasil belajar matematika diperoleh dari tes akhir. Berdasarkan analisis data angket keaktifan belajar siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing tergolong pada kriteria sangat aktif dengan persentase 82.40%. Analisis tes akhir dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji-t pada taraf nyata ? = 0.05. Diperoleh harga thitung > ttabel yaitu 2.04 > 1.67, serta dengan menggunakan Software Minitab  diperoleh P-value < 0.05, yaitu 0.023 < 0.05 sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa “hasil belajar siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing lebih baik daripada hasil belajar siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional di kelas VII Putri Pondok Pesantren Sumatera Thawalib Parabek”

    The purpose of this study is to determine the optimum temperature of roasting, optimal rotation speed of tube and roasting time, to produce roasted peanuts with good taste and good colour. The research method is experimental using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three factors of temperature, rotation and time. And analyzed using Anova method and Multiple Linear Regression. Temperature consists of five variables, namely 80oC, 85oC, 90oC, 95oC and 100oC. For rotations speed consists of 30, 35, 40 and 45 RPM. Variable of roasting time consists of four roasting times of 10, 15, 20 and 25 minutes. The numbers of data were 80 experiments. With three observation parameters namely moisture containing, color and aroma. It can be concluded that the temperature 95oC is the optimal roasting temperature; the optimal rotation speed is 40 RPM and 25 minutes for each roasting time. With the variable values mentioned, roasted bean products contain a fairly good taste, good moisture and good colour

    Stereotaxic gamma knife surgery in treatment of critically located pilocytic astrocytoma: preliminary result

    BACKGROUND: Low-grade gliomas are uncommon primary brain tumors, located more often in the posterior fossa, optic pathway, and brain stem and less commonly in the cerebral hemispheres. CASE PRESENTATIONS: Two patients with diagnosed recurrent cystic pilocytic astrocytoma critically located within the brain (thalamic and brain stem) were treated with gamma knife surgery. Gamma knife surgery (GKS) did improve the patient's clinical condition very much which remained stable later on. Progressive reduction on the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies of the solid part of the tumor and almost disappearance of the cystic component was achieved within the follow-up period of 36 months in the first case with the (thalamic located lesion) and 22 months in the second case with the (brain stem located lesion). CONCLUSION: Gamma knife surgery represents an alternate tool in the treatment of recurrent and/or small postoperative residual pilocytic astrocytoma especially if they are critically locate

    Entanglement renormalization of anisotropic XY model

    The renormalization group flows of the one-dimensional anisotropic XY model and quantum Ising model under a transverse field are obtained by different multiscale entanglement renormalization ansatz schemes. It is shown that the optimized disentangler removes the short-range entanglement by rotating the system in the parameter space spanned by the anisotropy and the magnetic field. It is understood from the study that the disentangler reduces the entanglement by mapping the system to another one in the same universality class but with smaller short range entanglement. The phase boundary and corresponding critical exponents are calculated using different schemes with different block sizes, look-ahead steps and truncation dimensions. It is shown that larger truncation dimension leads to more accurate results and that using larger block size or look-ahead step improve the overall calculation consistency.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figure
