We sought to analyze, from the perspective of professors and students, the reasons and consequences of the expansion of undergraduate courses in nursing, discussing the dilemmas and the contradictions confronting the labor market. It was a qualitative study with data obtained from focus groups, conducted in 18 undergraduate nursing courses in the state of Minas Gerais, during the period of February to October of 2011. The narratives were submitted to critical discourse analysis. The results indicated that the education of the nurse was permeated by insecurity as to the future integration into the labor market. The insecurity translates into dilemmas that referred to employability and the precariousness of the working conditions. In this context, employment in the family health strategy emerges as a mirage. One glimpses the need for a political agenda with the purpose of discussion about education, the labor market and the determinants of these processes. This work aims to study caring strategies for mental health patients in the healthservice of the Health District in Pampulha neighborhood (DISAP), in the city of BeloHorizonte, M.G. It discusses the users insertion in this health network through theanalysis of articulation/integration ways of the Mental Health actions in basicattention, taking the patterns proposed in the Psychiatric Reform as the starting point. It identifies strategies to introduce therapeutic actions in basic attention which canguarantee the patients reinsertion when back to their environment. It is a qualitativework based on the theoretical-methodological aspect of the dialectic-historicmaterialism. It considers that its purposes allow one to face the present reality incultural and social-historical relations in the present development and the changes inthe psychiatric assistance pattern to try to understand this reality through this focus. In this context Mental Health policy is the result of formulation and reformulation, each close look revealing contradictions and subsequent changes in assistancepractice, as well as knowing how to deal with insanity. Two analytical categoriesmarked the research accomplishment in all its phases: professionals practice ofthose who assist mental health patients and this subjects social reinsertion. Thisstudy took place at DISAP, which is in favor of the proposals commended in thePsychiatric Reform. There were 25 interviews with professionals at the HealthService and two focal groups with the patients. In order to build the empiricalcategories the speech analysis technique has been used to gather topicsinterviewees argued about. Some topics enabled the recognition of three empiricalcategories: a) the assistance pattern in mental health: a project and its difficulties;b) Mental Health and Basic Attention: the needed team articulation in caring work, aspects which were highlighted in two subcategories: caring work impasses andovercoming strategies and matrix support co-responsibilities and co-participation;and c) psychosocial reinsertion, a complex process which demands constant dealsinvolving the family and the institutions for material and emotional exchanges thatcan put the patients back to their environment. In this process the symptom is takeninto account as the way patients can transmit to others the meaning of their suffering.Due to the aspects, dimensions and complexities of the topic of this study, looking forstrategies in government organizations and in society to create new socialorganization ways is imperative to guarantee the success of the Psychiatric Reform

NEOTROPICAL CARNIVORES: a data set on carnivore distribution in the Neotropics
Mammalian carnivores are considered a key group in maintaining ecological health and can indicate potential ecological integrity in landscapes where they occur. Carnivores also hold high conservation value and their habitat requirements can guide management and conservation plans. The order Carnivora has 84 species from 8 families in the Neotropical region: Canidae; Felidae; Mephitidae; Mustelidae; Otariidae; Phocidae; Procyonidae; and Ursidae. Herein, we include published and unpublished data on native terrestrial Neotropical carnivores (Canidae; Felidae; Mephitidae; Mustelidae; Procyonidae; and Ursidae). NEOTROPICAL CARNIVORES is a publicly available data set that includes 99,605 data entries from 35,511 unique georeferenced coordinates. Detection/non-detection and quantitative data were obtained from 1818 to 2018 by researchers, governmental agencies, non-governmental organizations, and private consultants. Data were collected using several methods including camera trapping, museum collections, roadkill, line transect, and opportunistic records. Literature (peer-reviewed and grey literature) from Portuguese, Spanish and English were incorporated in this compilation. Most of the data set consists of detection data entries (n = 79,343; 79.7%) but also includes non-detection data (n = 20,262; 20.3%). Of those, 43.3% also include count data (n = 43,151). The information available in NEOTROPICAL CARNIVORES will contribute to macroecological, ecological, and conservation questions in multiple spatio-temporal perspectives. As carnivores play key roles in trophic interactions, a better understanding of their distribution and habitat requirements are essential to establish conservation management plans and safeguard the future ecological health of Neotropical ecosystems. Our data paper, combined with other large-scale data sets, has great potential to clarify species distribution and related ecological processes within the Neotropics. There are no copyright restrictions and no restriction for using data from this data paper, as long as the data paper is cited as the source of the information used. We also request that users inform us of how they intend to use the data
