This article presents the theoretical and methodological references that support our studies, interventions and academic combats in work psychology in the face of neoliberal strategies articulated with reflections on research and intervention. The neoliberal policies adopted today have generated important effects of precariousness in life, and specifically in the work environment, generating some perverse subjective effects that function as challenges to be faced by workers in the continuous invention of their life and protection of their health. We discuss how the tools of work clinics assist in transforming life and work situations by expanding the workers’ power to act. We propose to continue in debates in the field of work and organizational psychology in Brazil—strategies that aim to transform, and not just know.
Objectives: To investigate the 5-year prevalence of patients admitted to public inpatient care units due to a mental disorder, stratifying them by age group and diagnosis, and to assess trends of admissions over this time period in Porto Alegre. Methods: All admissions to the public mental health care system regulated by the city-owned electronic system Administração Geral dos Hospitais (AGHOS) were included in the analysis. The total population size was obtained by estimations of Fundação de Economia e Estatística (FEE). General information about 5-year prevalence of inpatient admissions, time-series trends e prevalence by age groups and diagnosis were presented. Results: There were 32,608 admissions over the 5-year period analyzed. The overall prevalence of patients was 1.62% among the total population, 0.01% among children, 1.12% among adolescents, 2.28% among adults and 0.93% among the elderly. The most common diagnosis was drug-related, followed by mood, alcohol-related and psychotic disorders. There was a linear trend showing an increase in the number of admissions from 2013 to the midst of 2014, which dropped in 2015. Conclusions: Admissions due to mental disorders are relatively common, mainly among adults and related to drug use and mood disorders. Time trends varied slightly over the 5 years. Prevalence rates in real-world settings might be useful for policymakers interested in planning the public mental health system in large Brazilian cities
Prevalence and risk factors of anemia in children,
Abstract Objective: To identify the prevalence and factors associated with anemia in children attending Municipal Early Childhood Education Day Care Center (Centros Municipais de Educação Infantil [CMEI]) nurseries in Colombo-PR. Methods: Analytical, cross-sectional study with a representative sample of 334 children obtained by stratified cluster sampling, with random selection of 26 nurseries. Data collection was conducted through interviews with parents, assessment of iron intake by direct food weighing, and hemoglobin measurement using the finger-stick test. Bivariate association tests were performed followed by multiple logistic regression adjustment. Results: The prevalence of anemia was 34.7%. Factors associated with anemia were: maternal age younger than 28 years old (p = 0.03), male children (p = 0.02), children younger than 24 months (p = 0.01), and children who did not consume iron food sources (meat + beans + dark green leafy vegetables) (p = 0.02). There was no association between anemia and iron food intake in CMEI. However, iron intake was well below the recommended levels according to the National Education Development Fund resolution, higher prevalence of anemia was observed in children whose intake of iron, heme iron, and nonheme iron was below the median. Conclusions: In terms of public health, the prevalence of anemia is characterized as a moderate problem in the studied population and demonstrates the need for coordination of interdisciplinary actions for its reduction in CMEI nurseries
This study aimed to evaluate carcass physical comp0sition, meat characteristics and live weight carcass no component of lambs slaughter at 28 kg under different feeding systems. Eighteen lambs (Ile de France X Texel) were randomly allotted, with their respective mothers, to three treatments: RP - ryegrass pasture (Lolium multiflorum Lam.), COM - confinament of lamb and sheep together and CCF - confinament with creep feeding. A private feeding by creep feeding system was offered for the lambs. There were no difference in the neck percentage among RP, COM and CCf, with values of 9.27, 9.17, and 8.72%, respectively. In relation to the legs, COM (34.02%) and CCF (34.17%) animals expressed similar values and were superior than RP(31.73) animals values. The softness measured in the loin portion (Longissimus dorsi), from 9th to 12th rib was the same in the animals submitted to three treatments: RP, COM and CCF, with respective values of 2.33, 3.03 and 3.08. There were not effects in the treatments according to juiceness (SUC) and taste (TASTE). The skin percentage of RP (11.05%) and COM (10.50%) were no treatment effects to the through the panel, palatability and juiceness. The skin percentages of RP (11.05%) and CON (10.50%) animals were similar, and RP showed higher values than CCF (9.70%). The values of gastric content percentage for CCF (11.47%) animals were higher than the RP animals (5.09%) and showed similar value for CON (8.72%)
