Mechanisms of resistance to acrolein in Drosophila melanogaster
Summary- The mechanisms of acrolein resistance developed by 2 D. melanogaster lines have been studied. The results suggest that there are 2 overlapping mechanisms. One of them is a reduction of breathing requirements, which reduces the amount of acrolein entering the flies, and the other is an increase in aldehyde dehydrogenase activity; probably, the first is the more important. acrolein- resistance mechanisms- toxic tolerance- Drosophila melanogaster Résumé- Mécanismes de résistance à l’acroléine chez Drosophila melanogaster.
Z_3 Dark Matter and Two-Loop Neutrino Mass
Dark matter is usually distinguished from ordinary matter by an odd-even
parity, i.e. the discrete symmetry Z_2. The new idea of Z_3 dark matter is
proposed with a special application to generating radiative Majorana neutrino
masses in two-loop order.Comment: expanded (9 pages, 2 figures), 2 references adde
Probing the Majorana nature of TeV-scale radiative seesaw models at collider experiments
A general feature of TeV-scale radiative seesaw models, in which tiny
neutrino masses are generated via loop corrections, is an extended scalar
(Higgs) sector. Another feature is the Majorana nature; e.g., introducing
right-handed neutrinos with TeV-scale Majorana masses under the discrete
symmetry, or otherwise introducing some lepton number violating interactions in
the scalar sector. We study phenomenological aspects of these models at
collider experiments. We find that, while properties of the extended Higgs
sector of these models can be explored to some extent, the Majorana nature of
the models can also be tested directly at the International Linear Collider via
the electron-positron and electron-electron collision experiments.Comment: 19 pages, 7 figures, version published in Physics Letters
Leptogenesis at the Electroweak Scale
In this note we propose a model of leptogenesis in which the scale for the
mass of the necessary heavy neutral lepton is similar to the scale of
electroweak symmetry breaking.Comment: 10 pages, 3 figure

Entanglement and quantum phase transition in the one-dimensional anisotropic XY model
In this paper the entanglement and quantum phase transition of the
anisotropic s=1/2 XY model are studied by using the quantum renormalization
group method. By solving the renormalization equations, we get the trivial
fixed point and the untrivial fixed point which correspond to the phase of the
system and the critical point, respectively. Then the concurrence between two
blocks are calculated and it is found that when the number of the iterations of
the renormalziation trends infinity, the concurrence develops two staturated
values which are associated with two different phases, i.e., Ising-like and
spin-fluid phases. We also investigate the first derivative of the concurrence,
and find that there exists non-analytic behaviors at the quantum critical
point, which directly associate with the divergence of the correlation length.
Further insight, the scaling behaviors of the system are analyzed, it is shown
that how the maximum value of the first derivative of the concurrence reaches
the infinity and how the critical point is touched as the size of the system
becomes large.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figure
