Lena Delta hydrology and geochemistry: long-term hydrological data and recent field observations
The Lena River forms one of the largest deltas in the Arctic. We compare two sets of data to reveal new insights into the hydrological, hydrochemical, and geochemical processes within the delta: (i) long-term hydrometric observations at the Khabarova station at the head of the delta from 1951 to 2005; (ii) field hydrological and geochemical observations carried out within the delta since 2002. Periods with differing relative discharge and intensity of fluvial processes were identified from the long-term record of water and sediment discharge. Ice events during spring melt (high water) reconfigured branch channels and probably influenced sediment transport within the delta. Based on summer field measurements during 2005β2012 of discharge and sediment fluxes along main delta channels, both are increased between the apex and the front of the delta. This increase is to a great extent connected with an additional influx of water from tributaries, as well as an increase of suspended and dissolved material released from the ice complex. Summer concentrations of major ion and biogenic substances along the delta branches are partly explained by water sources within the delta, such as thawing ice complex waters, small Lena River branches and estuarine areas
Study of aluminosilicate refractories after operation in the presence of fluorine-containing wastes
Samples of aluminosilicate refractory after operation in the shaft and in the hearth of a coke-gas cupola were investigated; this cupola was used for smelting of cast iron with spheroidal graphite using carbon wastes from aluminium electrolysis production as a reducing agent. Use of only fluorine-containing carbon wastes as a solid fuel in cast iron production allows to utilize hazardous man-caused wastes, improves the economic performance of production and has influence on resistance of fireclay refractories. It was established that the products acquire a distinct zone features during the service, due to penetration of the components of gas and liquid phases and the effect of low-boiling components of carbon-containing wastes. Upon that, changes in the structure along the distance from the working space are complex ones in lining thickness and in concentration of volatile components in the βcoldβ parts of the lining. Permanent character of the mullite content in different zones of fireclay products can be traced, as well as a slight increase in the less altered zone, despite the different service conditions. Absence of alkaline and fluoride phases in the zones of refractory products in the pores and structure of the fireclay refractory was established, due to migration of these gaseous phases into the working space of the cupola with their subsequent removal with furnace gases. Additional development of mullite in certain zones of refractory was revealed, resulting by its synthesis from alumina that did not react during fireclay refractories manufacture under the mineralizing action of a fluorine compound. Use of fluorine-containing carbonaceous wastes as a solid fuel in cast iron production makes it possible to utilize hazardous man-caused wastes, improves the economic performance of production and has slight effect on resistance of aluminosilicate refractories in the conditions of a coke-gas cupola. The legal foundation of a society is the basis of its existence and effective functioning. The legal consciousness occupies a special place in it. It acts as an integral part of peopleβs worldview, their life orientations, values and priorities. In Russia, the dynamics of the ongoing changes in the political and legal sphere is largely determined by the rethinking of the events of the recent past and the attempt by various forces of influence to comprehend the present adequately. Such close attention to the phenomenon of legal awareness is due to many changes taking place in the country and society. The consciousness of people in Russia is multipolar. Both internal and external factors influence on its formation, more often they are of a destructive nature. For example, the role of the hybrid war, which has been waged against Russia throughout its recent history and in which young people are actively involved, is great. Attempts to organize and conduct various actions with the participation of young people expose, among other things, the problems of our society, the state of legal awareness of young people involved in these events. This puts forward new tasks for working with young people, primarily students. The article reveals the concept of legal consciousness, considers its structure and types. The authors pay special attention to the Ρharacterization of the features of the modern legal consciousness in Russia. The article also characterizes legal socialization. Legal consciousness manifests itself in behavior. The authors rely on the results of the study on the legal behavior of young people. The presented factual material makes it possible to identify the cause-and-effect relationships between the legal consciousness and the factors affecting it. The article provides possibilities for the interested persons to use the presented theoretical and practical material in their work on the formation of the legal consciousness of modern Russian youth.ΠΠ²Π΅Π΄Π΅Π½ΠΈΠ΅. Assessment of the ecological state of the Larsemann hills oasis lakes (East Antarctica) based on hydrologic and hydrobiologic indicators
Β© SGEM2016.The article presents the results of a current ecological status estimation of The Larsemann Hills oasis freshwater lakes (the East Antarctica) based on hydrologic and hydro-biological indicators. Available material on the features of the lakes aquatic ecosystems were summarized with using of literature sources and authorsβ filed data. New data had been input in a Database and visualized with the use of GIS technology. Thus, graphs, charts, spatio-temporal patterns of the lake systems modes parameters were described. Lakes hydrochemical indicators had a large range and varied during a summer season significantly. According to the received results researched lakes belong to the oligotrophic type of trophic status and water quality, and phosphorus is a key nutrient element limiting a primary production in water body. The lakes have a high ability of a self-cleaning due to both a huge water volume and zooplankton high filtration activity. Considered lakes are characterized by a low resistance for environmental parameter changes
